Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 - A New Government System

Third person POV

And then, by week 3, Basilio

established the country's Senate and elected the first 4 Senators by voting and casting lots after teaching the Vamzoms how elections work and how to vote. These four are:

Aart Sartorre

Artem Rusu

Aldert Tihamér

Juhani Campobasso

Of the four senators, three are heads of the three of the first three government departments Basilio established according to the country's sectors.

The first 4 Senators accepted their additional, 2-year duties and promised to do their best in performing their duties.

He appointed the heads of the department as senators because, in his previous life, he disliked the bureaucracy of most democratic countries. The Senate would only meet for the most important meetings and discussions, saving time given the government's complexity.

These are the Departments of Defense and Military, Education, and Food Security.

One unused hall on the southeastern corner, coated in Romanesque style and had Venetian Gothic arches both on the front façade and inside it, was converted to be the Senate Building.

And so, with all these had been said and done, the last thing to do was to make the political system of the country, so Basilio divided the small country into districts, planning to, if it turned into a bigger country, convert the districts into barangays soon. The number of districts started with 3 at this point. Their names were chosen by their residents through a system of casting lots.

Names:

South Main Gate (facing the most densest part of the Outer District)

West Cale Gate (the western gate area leading to the border of the Dimwell Dukedom, Pantano)

Oriental District (the north and east areas of the stronghold that had the biggest farm fields facing the Vertskhi River)

That golden afternoon, as he was monitoring the progress of the new Vamzom nation from his office in the northwestern side of the SKP, Basilio looked at an Excel spreadsheet of his Vamzom subordinates and soldiers under him on his laptop. "Some of their names weren't European like ones in fantasy tropes…" his mind drifted on their names, "...Kyàw Mehmed's sounded like a Burmese mother and a Turkish father having a child together. But, pretty neat and awesome, though…, like the one of Maxim Alexandrescu sounding like Romanian."

He believed that most tropes of fantasy worlds don't apply in this world.

"Itami-san from "Gate" would be drooling at these names..." he thought while writing a decree on his next thing on the list: diplomacy to Pantano.

Meanwhile, Chivo, being that first diplomat to his home country of Pantano, was going around the South Main District browsing for food for his older sister and niece back in Fresa De Ard with Kyàw as his guard.
