Chapter 4 - Dragon Ball ch3: Training bulma and reaching the next dragonball location.

The next day dawned beautifully over the quiet wilderness. Birds sang cheerful melodies from the treetops as golden sunlight spilled across the horizon, gently bathing the Capsule House in warm morning light. Inside the cozy bedroom, Goku and Bulma were still wrapped around each other like two stuffed teddy bears, sleeping peacefully in each other's embrace.

Their bodies fit together perfectly. Bulma's head rested against Goku's broad chest, her blue hair splayed across his shoulder, while Goku's strong arms held her securely, his tail instinctively curled around her waist in a protective hold. They looked every bit like a newlywed couple enjoying their first peaceful mornings together.

As the bright rays of sunlight finally reached their faces, both of them stirred at the same time. Goku's eyes opened first, followed immediately by Bulma's. For a long moment, they simply stared at each other in comfortable silence. Bulma's bright blue eyes sparkled in the morning light, while Goku's warm, dark gaze held a softness she had never seen before.

A gentle, loving smile spread across Goku's face. Without thinking, he leaned forward and pressed a tender kiss to the top of her forehead, lingering there for a few sweet seconds.

"Good morning, Bulma," he whispered softly, his voice still slightly husky from sleep. "I hope you're ready for today's adventure."

Bulma's cheeks instantly flushed a deep shade of pink. She reached up with her fingers, gently touching the spot where his lips had been, a silly, lovestruck smile blooming on her face. Her heart fluttered wildly in her chest.

"Y-Yes…" she replied, trying (and failing) to sound composed. "You promised me today that you'd teach me how to control my new powers. And more importantly," she added with a cheeky grin, "you said you'd teach me how to fly!"

Goku chuckled warmly at her enthusiasm and nodded. "I did promise. We'll start after breakfast."

They eventually got out of bed, though Bulma made it very clear she didn't want to separate just yet. When they headed to the bathroom, she turned to him with a playful pout.

"Come on, Goku~ Let's bathe together. We're basically husband and wife now, right?" she teased, batting her eyelashes.

Goku scratched the back of his head, blushing slightly but standing firm. "We should take things slow, Bulma. I want us to know each other better before we take that kind of step… even if we're bonded now."

Bulma puffed her cheeks in disappointment but eventually relented, muttering, "You're such a gentleman… it's annoying but also cute." They ended up bathing separately.

While Goku used the built-in kitchen of the Capsule House to prepare breakfast, Bulma poured herself a strong cup of morning coffee. She leaned against the counter, secretly watching her new boyfriend with dreamy eyes as he moved around the kitchen with surprising skill. The way his muscles flexed under his orange gi while he cooked made her heart skip several beats.

'He's really mine now…' she thought, a soft smile playing on her lips.

As she watched him, Bulma slowly drifted into a beautiful daydream:

In her dream, she saw an older, taller version of Goku standing in a bright, spacious kitchen, humming happily while cooking a massive feast. He had the same gentle smile she loved, but with a more mature and confident aura. Two adorable children with spiky black hair and energetic tails ran around the house, laughing loudly. One of them a little girl jumped into Bulma's arms, while a boy who looked like a perfect mix of both parents clung to Goku's leg.

Bulma herself looked radiant and youthful, her belly slightly rounded with another child. The entire scene radiated warmth, love, and happiness. It was the perfect family life she had secretly always wanted but never dared to dream about.

"Bulma…? Bulma!"

A worried voice pulled her out of the daydream. She blinked rapidly and found Goku standing right in front of her, holding a steaming cup of coffee in his hand. His expression was full of concern.

"Are you okay? You were completely spacing out just now," he asked, tilting his head.

Bulma shook her head quickly, a bright smile replacing her dreamy expression. "I'm fine! Just… thinking about nice things."

They sat down together and enjoyed breakfast. Goku had prepared a massive feast for himself and a delicious, balanced portion for Bulma strawberry pancakes, fresh fruit, eggs, and toast. As they ate, Bulma's excitement bubbled over.

"I can't wait to start training!" she said between bites, her eyes shining. "Flying through the sky with you… that sounds incredible. I want to be able to keep up with you, Goku. Even if it's just a little bit."

Goku smiled warmly at her determination, reaching across the table to gently squeeze her hand.

"We'll take it step by step. I'll teach you everything I know," he promised.

The morning sun continued to shine brightly outside, as if celebrating the beginning of their new journey together not just as adventure partners, but as something much deeper.

After finishing breakfast, Goku and Bulma stepped outside the Capsule House into the bright morning sun. The air was fresh, carrying the scent of pine trees and wildflowers. Birds chirped happily overhead as a gentle breeze rustled the leaves. It was the perfect setting for training.

Goku led Bulma to a clear grassy area a short distance from the house. He turned to face her, his expression calm yet focused. Bulma stood in front of him, bouncing lightly on her toes with excitement. Her cheeks still carried a faint blush from their earlier morning closeness.

"Alright, Bulma," Goku began, his voice steady and patient. "Before I can teach you how to fly or properly control your new strength, you need to understand what Ki is."

Bulma nodded eagerly, her brilliant mind already prepared to absorb every detail.

"Ki," Goku continued, "is also known as 'latent energy' or 'fighting power.' In simple terms, it's the life force that exists inside every living being. You can think of it as the energy that keeps us alive. Its main focus is in the center of the body, right around here." He placed a hand gently on his lower abdomen to demonstrate.

Bulma's eyes widened with fascination as she listened intently.

"By learning to draw this energy out," Goku explained, "you can manipulate it and use it outside your body. Ki can be used for all kinds of techniques enhancing your strength, speed, creating energy blasts, flying, and even healing. Because the human body has physical limits, increasing your Ki is the only way to break past those barriers and become truly stronger."

He paused for a moment, letting her process the information before continuing.

"Usually, the more concentrated your power becomes, the more time and focus it takes to draw it out. When fighters gather their Ki, they gain enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and their attacks become much more powerful. However, the more Ki you raise, the harder it is to control. That's why Ki control is extremely important. If you lose control, you can waste energy or even hurt yourself. Energy can also be lost when you sustain injuries."

Bulma was completely captivated. Her scientific brain was working overtime, connecting everything Goku said with her knowledge of physics and biology.

Goku went deeper. "Maintaining proper balance between the body and spirit is crucial. The better they are aligned, the more energy you can project outward. Ki itself is made up of at least three important parts: Genki (Vigor), Yūki (Courage), and Shōki (Right-mindedness). Yūki especially is connected to emotions. Courage, willpower, even anger or bloodlust they all affect your Ki. That's why when someone releases murderous intent, it's called 'Sakki'."

Bulma stood there in awe, her mouth slightly open. "That's… incredible. So it's not just some mystical power. It's life energy that responds to emotions and mental state. No wonder you're so strong!"

Goku smiled softly at her quick understanding. "Exactly. You're really sharp, Bulma."

She blushed again but quickly asked the question burning in her mind. "So Goku… where did you learn all of this about Ki and how to use it? You seem to know everything."

Goku's expression softened. He looked toward the distant mountains for a moment, a touch of sadness in his eyes.

"Well, as I told you before, Saiyans are born with a natural physique that lets us use Ki instinctively. We usually just call it 'power' or 'energy.' But the deeper understanding… I learned most of it from my late grandfather, Gohan. He taught me the basics and helped me train. He was a very wise man."

A small, grateful smile appeared on Goku's face, but Bulma could sense the lingering sorrow behind it. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him in a warm hug, pressing her cheek against his chest.

"Don't feel bad, Goku," she whispered softly. "He must be so proud of the man you've become. You're kind, strong, and caring. And you don't have to feel lonely anymore… because you have me now, okay?"

Goku's arms slowly wrapped around her smaller frame. He hugged her back gently, resting his chin on top of her head. The warmth of her words and embrace eased the ache in his heart.

"Thank you, Bulma," he murmured. "That means a lot."

They stayed like that for a few peaceful moments before reluctantly separating. Goku's expression became focused again.

"Alright. Let's start with the first step."

He took a step back and held out his right hand, palm facing upward.

"Ki is like a hidden battery of power inside your body. Right now, because of the marking, you already have a lot of it. But you need to learn how to feel it and control it. First, stop thinking about trivial things. Clear your mind. Focus on your inner self the energy flowing through you."

Bulma closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to follow his instructions. Her brow furrowed in concentration.

Goku continued speaking in a calm, guiding voice. "Imagine a warm light in the center of your body. Slowly try to gather that energy. You can start by focusing it into your hands or feet. Don't force it. Let it flow naturally."

As he spoke, Goku demonstrated. A soft, glowing aura of golden-white energy began to rise from his body. It was gentle but clearly powerful. He then concentrated the energy into his right palm. A bright, crackling sphere of Ki formed above his hand, humming with power. The air around them vibrated slightly.

Bulma's eyes snapped open in pure amazement. "Whoa… that's beautiful! It's actually visible… and I can feel it in the air!"

She reached out hesitantly, her fingers hovering near the glowing energy. The warmth radiating from it made her skin tingle.

Goku dispersed the energy with a small smile. "Your turn. Try to feel it first. Don't worry if nothing happens right away. This is just the beginning."

Bulma nodded determinedly. She closed her eyes again, her brilliant mind working to analyze and replicate what she had just witnessed. Sweat began to form on her forehead as she concentrated harder than she ever had in her life.

Minutes passed. At first, nothing happened. But then, a very faint, tiny spark of blue energy flickered around her fingertips for a brief second before vanishing.

Bulma's eyes flew open with excitement. "I did it! Did you see that?! It was small but I felt something!"

Goku laughed warmly, clearly proud of her. "That's amazing, Bulma! For your first try, that was excellent. Most people take days or weeks just to sense their Ki."

Bulma beamed at the praise, her cheeks flushing with happiness. She stepped closer to Goku, looking up at him with sparkling eyes full of affection and determination.

"This is just the start," she said softly. "I want to become strong enough to stand beside you… not just as your mate, but as your partner in every way."

Goku's heart swelled. He gently brushed a strand of blue hair away from her face.

"You already are," he replied sincerely.

The morning sun continued to shine warmly down on them as their training progressed. With every passing moment, the bond between Goku and Bulma grew deeper two hearts steadily drawing closer, one lesson at a time.

After successfully manifesting a small spark of Ki earlier, Bulma's confidence soared. However, when she tried again under Goku's guidance, the results were far more dramatic. A massive wave of blue-white energy erupted from her body, crackling with power. The sheer volume of Ki radiating from the petite genius astonished even Goku for a moment. The grass around her flattened from the pressure, and the air grew noticeably warmer.

"Whoa… this is all inside me?" Bulma whispered in awe, staring at her glowing hands.

Goku nodded seriously. "Because of the marking, you received a huge portion of my power. It's enormous for a human. That's why we need to focus on control first."

For the next few hours, Goku patiently taught Bulma how to meditate. He sat cross-legged in front of her, demonstrating proper breathing techniques and how to gently circulate the wild energy flowing through her body.

"Think of your Ki like a wild river," he explained softly. "Right now it's flooding everywhere. Meditation will help you build a dam not to stop the flow, but to control it."

Bulma followed his instructions diligently. She closed her eyes, focusing on her breathing just as he taught her. Sweat rolled down her forehead as she wrestled with the overwhelming power inside her. Goku stayed by her side the entire time, occasionally correcting her posture or offering gentle encouragement.

"You're doing great, Bulma," he said warmly. "Most people would've given up by now."

After several hours of focused meditation, Goku asked her to try manifesting her Ki once more.

Bulma took a deep breath, then slowly raised her hands. This time, the energy that emerged was far more stable. A beautiful, controlled aura of blue Ki surrounded her body, radiating a pleasant heat instead of chaotic power. She opened her eyes, feeling the energy dancing across her skin.

"I did it!" Bulma exclaimed with pure joy, pumping her fist in victory. "It feels… alive!"

Goku smiled proudly. "You managed to control a tiny amount of it now. That's huge progress for one day."

Bulma's eyes widened in shock. "A tiny amount?! You're telling me I have that much power inside me because of you?" She looked down at her own hands in disbelief, then back at Goku with a mix of gratitude and amazement. "Goku… you really gave me a part of yourself."

The realization made her heart flutter. She stepped closer and hugged him tightly for a moment before they continued.

Next, Goku moved on to one of the most exciting parts teaching her how to fly.

"Flying is all about pushing your Ki outward smoothly," he explained. "Concentrate the energy at the soles of your feet, then push downward against the ground, like you're pressing against an invisible floor beneath you."

Bulma nodded eagerly and tried immediately. On her first attempt, nothing happened. On the second, she wobbled unsteadily. On the third try, she suddenly felt herself lifting off the ground. Her feet left the grass as she rose nearly a meter into the air.

"I'm flying! I'm actually flying!" she yelled triumphantly, throwing her arms up in victory.

Her excitement instantly broke her concentration. The Ki flow cut off, and she dropped straight down with a surprised yelp. Goku moved quickly and caught her safely in his arms before she hit the ground.

He couldn't help but laugh warmly at her adorable expression of shock and embarrassment.

Bulma puffed her cheeks and lightly punched his chest. "Hey! Don't laugh! I'll master this by the end of the day, just watch me!"

Goku's laughter softened into a gentle smile. "I have full faith in you, Bulma. You're already doing better than I expected."

True to her word, Bulma threw herself into the training with fierce determination. For the next several hours, she practiced relentlessly. She fell dozens of times, but each time Goku was there to catch her, offer advice, or demonstrate again. Slowly but surely, she improved.

By late afternoon, Bulma was finally able to fly properly. She soared through the sky with a bright, exhilarated laugh, her blue hair whipping in the wind. Goku joined her, flying beside her with an easy, relaxed smile. The two of them glided through the clouds together, enjoying the breathtaking view of the world below.

In a burst of happiness, Bulma suddenly flew toward him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and planted a deep, affectionate kiss on his cheek.

"That's your reward for being such a good teacher!" she said playfully, her face flushed with both excitement and shyness.

Goku's face turned bright red. He touched the spot where she kissed him, looking adorably flustered. "Bulma…"

They spent the next few hours having fun in the air chasing each other through clouds, playing tag high above the trees, and simply enjoying the freedom of flight together. Their laughter echoed across the sky as their bond continued to blossom.

As the sun began to dip lower, they finally landed and decided to resume their original goal.

"Come on," Goku said, taking her hand. "Let's go find the next Dragon Ball."

Bulma pulled out her Dragon Radar and checked the signal. "It looks like it's not too far. There's a small town in that direction."

They packed up the Capsule House and continued their journey. After traveling for some time, they arrived at the outskirts of a quiet town. However, something immediately felt wrong.

The streets were completely empty. Doors hung open on some houses. Clothes were still hanging on laundry lines. A few cars were parked haphazardly, but there was no sign of any people not a single soul.

Bulma frowned, gripping Goku's hand a little tighter. "Goku… where is everyone? This place looks completely abandoned."

Goku's expression grew serious as he scanned the area with his heightened senses. The town was eerily silent. No voices, no footsteps, no laughter. Just an unsettling stillness in the air.

"Stay close to me," he said quietly, his protective instincts kicking in. "Something isn't right here."
