Chase sat in that same Coliseum locker room as the day that he heard the code within the flooring below.
His leg was trembling up and down against that very same floor.
'Luna?' Chase called for his goddess companion once again, still not receiving any sort of mental reply from his benefactor.
And for some reason... He knew that she had completely shut his thoughts out once he had made the decision to accept this battle...
However, a part of him knew that she had done so out of good faith, although triggered by something that was obviously not a great idea, she has done something in order to protect herself from the inevitable.
Chase laughed bitterly.
'I mean seriously... What are the odds we go to a brand new city and don't get caught up in some war... It would be stupid to assume that one of us wouldn't start something here. At least this time, some of us have the courage to step up early and get the job done.'
Chase sighed.
His eyes darted around the room before he began to recall the morse code in his head.
"Knock knock knock..." He muttered, quickly decoding the message, thanks to the help of some of the textbooks within the dusty cabinets of his room that he had read the night previous.
Soon, Chase began to bang the pommel of Apocalypse into the floor, hoping for some kind of response.
"Dude..." Equan said, arriving from the hallway outside of the locker room.
Chase frowned, looking up at Equan with sweat already forming on his brows. Chase's expression said something of the sorts of... "Please just pity me this one time..."
Equan sighed, leaning against the wall.
"What do you think is down there?" He asked, giving Chase the benefit of the doubt.
"Beast kin... Lots of them..." Chase said with a ghostly expression as his eyes stared daggers into the ground below him.
Equan grimaced.
"Well... What's the plan?" He asked, giving no insight on whether he was referring to the battle ahead of them or the bigger picture... Which would mean that Equan had given into Chase's delusion...
Chase frowned.
"We lose..."
Equan also frowned.
"That cannot possibly be the plan." He mumbled, shaking his head.
Chase continued to look at the floor.
"We lose... And our identities are revealed... The Grand Paladin finds out I am alive, and Star of House Aries begins her wild manhunt for me... Then after we are brought down to the dungeons of Seh Jenah, a group known as The Blaze Syndicate will break us out. Our house will be sieged by guards, but that's why I have Justin, Gideon, and Hans as the only people at the Tudor. They will gather everything and bring everyone else to a safe house... Our main goal will be getting an audience with King Phillip. That's when we will reveal everything that House of Durangor has illegally done for the past several decades, because according to the House of Freznov, King Phillip has no clue considering the slave trading going on underneath his own nose... There... You have the plan now." Chase took a deep breath of exhaustion before wincing as he heard the announcer mention that the biggest fight of the night was only fifteen minutes away.
Equan was silent for a few moments, until finally looking at Chase with determination.
"But, what if we win?" The question was not asked out of confidence... Or even hypothesis... But instead, it was asked out of a genuine drive for improvement. Chase could see it in the lightning blue eyes of Equan... Gazing with the pure passion to surpass others, as the time ticked down.
"Then we win... And we go into a full scale war with The City of Factions..." Chase stated blatantly, showing his point that if they have the capacity to win this battle, than the group known as Unity together had the capacity to overthrow the entire city...
Equan grinned.
"Poppy wanted to tell you that she was sorry... For "Everything that has happened since she had first arrived" end quote." Equan notified Chase, a subtle chuckle hidden under his now tightened matte black mask.
Chase frowned, summoning his own mask upon his face.
"Tell her that she doesn't need a messenger when we are in the same city..." Chase grumbled, loosening his shoulders as an annoying itch persisted in the depths of his sternum.
Meanwhile, somewhere on the higher levels of the Coliseum... Poppy, Luke, Kaylynn, Gemini, Jacob, and Brody were all sitting seat by seat in the mid tier bleachers.
"So, when is that Firework Festival that Andrew wanted us to go to?" Luke asked, leaning back in his seat while throwing a handful of popcorn in his mouth.
"I believe it is in two nights..." Kaylynn mumbled, nervously biting the nail on her thumb as she watched the second to last battle take place below them.
"I need to go to the bathroom." Poppy suddenly called out before quickly getting up and scurrying away only just after the battle had ended.
As the announcer's voice shook the Coliseum, Jacob's head perked up as he watched Poppy quickly vanish into a crowd.
"Should one of us go with her?" Luke raised an eyebrow at Kaylynn, who was also looking in the direction that Poppy had gone off in.
"Chase and Equan's fight is about to start..." Kaylynn frowned, rolling her eyes and quickly standing up.
She quickly ran up the stairs towards where Poppy had gone.
Meanwhile Gemini was looking down under his seat where his wrist was propped up against Jacob's shackle.
"Make sure no one sees!" Gemini barked with a whisper at Jacob, who was sitting in an awkward position in the hopes of hiding Gemini's behavior.
"What the hell are you doing?" Brody said turning his head and cocking a confused eyebrow at the situation taking place.
Luke was already glancing between the spectators, trying to get a grip on what was really going on. Because Luna had been right... A terrible dread now surrounded this place... And she was right to have not wanted anything to do with it.
Sparks flew from whatever Gemini was doing under his sit.
Then...
The arena shook as the announcer introduced the main event of the night.
A battle to decide the future...
