Darkness surrounded William, but he felt an unprecedented warmth surrounding his entire being.
However, it was not long before a diamond-shaped light shone in the darkness, and an unknown figure reached in and grabbed him, pulling him into the light.
When William's eyes adjusted he was able to see a large, gruff, spiky-haired man holding him upside-down.
The man had a green device on his ear and eye that chirped as a series of numbers appeared.
The man's expression became sour as the number settled on a single digit.
"Tch... A measley power level of 3, is Tavor even a Saiyan?"
He pulled Tavor's tail and held him upside down, causing him to go limp and weak, unable to resist being carried away from his mother.
He hands Tavor by the tail towards a lizard-like alien.
"Put him in a low-class incubator with the others, we will send him to a low tier planet as soon as he is able to properly move!"
The man sneered as he gazed upon Tavor.
"How could I possibly produce such a pathetic offspring, it makes no sense!"
Tavor opened a single eye and witnessed the man who seemed to be his father staring at him with disappointment and disdain, a mutual feeling building within Tavor's little heart.
The lizard-like alien proceeded out of the room and after a minute of walking with a baby Saiyan tail grasped in his clawed hand he entered a room filled to the brim with incubators.
He found an empty incubator between two other Saiyan babies and placed him inside while affixing a device that would handle any waste Tavor produced and keep the incubator relatively clean.
Tavor's dark eyes opened to the sound of the incubator being filled with a strange and tingly green liquid.
He felt the liquid wash over his head and instinctively held his breath but soon was unable to resist the urge to pull in oxygen.
Much to Tavor's surprise, the liquid was full of oxygen and nitrogen as well as vital nutrients, allowing the Saiyan newborn to not only breathe but also satiating any hunger he might have felt.
The alien nurse turned around after making sure that the incubator was functioning properly and shut off the overhead lights, the only light now coming from the incubator pods themselves as the liquid seemed to be luminescent.
Tavor felt his eyes begin to drop and become heavy as sleep overpowered his nascent will, and before he could mount even a bit of protest, the newborn Saiyan entered a state of slumber.
Elsewhere on the planet King Vegeta had just returned from a visit to the flag-ship of the Mad Titan, a massive vessel called the Sanctuary II.
"Prepare for invasion, that mad purple bastard seems to wipe out half of us Saiyan's due to some half-witted philosophy!"
The king sat upon his throne and pressed his fingers into his eyes.
Initially King Vegeta sought to engage with Thanos but after a single step he found his mind pierced by a yellow light emanating from a stone in the Mad Titans grasp forcing the mighty King Vegeta to his knees before he could even think to protest.
"If that mad bastard can so easily subdue someone as powerful as myself, what chance do we Saiyan's truly have?"
His thoughts move to another frightening scene.
"I saw a familiar figure bowing at the Mad Titans side as well, the former tyrant Frieza himself, now serving as a powerhouse of the Black Order, how absolutely terrifying!"
King Vegeta knew all too well the power of Frieza, having seen the tyrant turn entire planets into asteroid fields.
The Saiyan king knew that his races warriors, despite their collective strength, would stand absolutely no chance against this pale demon.
"General Nappa, old friend, I need you to take my son Vegeta on a long mission in the cosmos, I don't want him to be here if and when all our might fails us!
Nappa, a tall mountain of Saiyan muscle bowed dutifully before his king.
"I shall do as you command my king, may we see each other again someday!"
King Vegeta nodded before gesturing for Nappa to leave him.
"If we are even here, we will definitely meet again my old friend!"
King Vegeta stood from his throne and walked over towards a window before looking upwards into the night sky, but instead of a multitude of stars, what he saw was a massive vessel in orbit surrounded by hundreds, possibly thousands, of much smaller ships that collectively blotted out the night sky with their presence.
"Come at me Thanos, I will not yield my people to you no matter what!"
On board the vessel known as Sanctuary II Thanos sat on a massive throne made of some kind of unknown metal a mad grin adorning his face as he swirled a glass of wine in his hand.
"Sir reporting!"
A skinny alien with pallid grey skin bowed reverently before Thanos.
Thanos eyes fell upon the alien causing a pressure to subtly envelope the otherwise diminutive figure.
"Speak maw, deliver your report!"
Ebony Maw bowed deeper, his head nearly touching the ground before the Mad Titans boots before he dared to speak once more.
"Master, the Saiyans seem to be preparing for an invasion and do not seem to fathom the mercy you offer them. My spies have even heard that King Vegeta has sent his son away from the planet as well. Should we follow and apprehend the child to use as leverage?"
The Mad Titan was silent for a few moments that seemed to go on for hours before replying to Ebony Maw.
"No need Maw, eventually the child will return to seek revenge, after all, how could a Saiyan bear to not make an attempt, we shall subdue him when he does so in the future!"
Ebony Maw bowed once more.
"As you command, my master, shall I ready the fleet for a full invasion?"
Thanos took a generous sip of the wine in his glass and let out a deep, resounding sigh.
"No, we will wait for our remaining fleets, we shall first surround the planet and only then will we invade!"
Thanos waved Ebony Maw away and the skinny alien immediately fled to give the orders to the fleet.
The Mad Titan laid his head on his hand and chuckled.
"I do love it when they resist, it makes things so much more interesting before putting my boot to their necks!"
Back on planet Vegeta, Tavor's eyes opened as his incubator pod was delivered to his mother abode on the royal capital's outskirts, a slum where low class warriors and those that birth them reside.
A note was placed on the glass essentially commanding his mother to deliver Tavor to a pod-ship to be sent off world to take over a distant weak planet.
His mother, a woman named Celera, crumpled the note in her palm, an anger only a mother could feel flashing in her eyes.
But sensing the immense presence orbiting the planet, she put her anger aside, feeling like it was a blessing in disguise that her son would not be here when the bloodshed began.
Feeling that the said bloodshed would begin sooner rather than later, she proceeded to carry the incubator towards the nearest spaceport and upon arrival, began draining the nutrient fluid within, and donning her newborn in a set of freshly made Saiyan armor which would expand as he grew, even accommodating the size of a great ape transformation without issue.
Tavor felt his mother Celera hold him for the first time, her arms shaking as she resisted the urge to stay with him and never let go but her protective motherly instincts recognized that the only means for the newborns survival was to be sent away and with great emotional effort she placed him inside a round Saiyan space-pod and closed the door.
Tavor stood up with shaky and chubby legs and began slapping his tiny hands against the glass, wishing his mother would hold him once more but to no avail.
The glass proved to be an insurmountable obstacle and unknowingly to him the pod began to pump in a harmless gas that upon inhalation began to put the young Tavor to sleep.
Outside the pod, Celera was talking to the alien subordinate whose job was to program the destination.
"Set the destination for a distant planet on the opposite end of the galaxy, I believe it's called E-Arth!"
The technician nodded as he programmed the coordinates and confirmed the blue-green marble known to Saiyans as the lowest of the low-tier planets, hardly even worthy of conquest but undoubtedly safer than every other destination for the newborn Saiyan with only a power level of 3.
As Tavor once more succumbed to slumber the pod began to lift off the ground and with shocking speed began rocketing off the world, the pod so small and unassuming that the fleet above ignored it entirely.
The pod rocketed away from Planet Vegeta just before the planet became surrounded by an immense fleet, a bubble of bent space propelling the pod at speeds surpassing light toward its inevitable destination.
As the pod disappeared into the void of space and the Mad Titans fleet surrounded planet Vegeta a pair of golden eyes watched it all from a distance so vast it may as well have been in a different dimension.
A being in glorious golden armor and holding a massive two handed sword of opulent but effective design watched from his vigil at the entrance to the mythical bifrost.
He wished to assist this planet in its defense against the Mad Titans invasion but Odin has long since ceased allowing his people to engage in frivolous warfare.
"All-Father, the Mad Titans invasion has begun, this is the tenth planet to succumb to his evil, are we still yet to do something?"
His voice reached deep into the heart of Asgard where Odin, the god-king of the Aesir sat upon his throne.
Odin's single eye seemed to pierce through the palace walls and spot the gatekeeper Heimdall.
"Asgard may be the defender of the nine realms but only I am powerful enough to stop that Mad Titan, I will not risk weakening Asgard by vacating the throne, it's best to leave Thanos to others!" As Odin said this, his eyes fell upon his son Thor, sitting at a table below with his closest companions while loudly lauding his many great victories in combat.
A sense of disappointment encompassed Odin's thoughts as he gazed upon his mighty, yet immature son before his gaze once more turned towards the distant Heimdall.
"Remain on watch, but keep me informed on any changes."
Heimdall bowed respectfully, then turned his golden gaze back towards the cosmos, resuming his endless watch.
His eyes turned slightly and fell upon a single Saiyan pod heading towards the planet known to Asgard as Midgard, a planet under the direct protection of Asgard due to an ancient pact with the planet's Sorcerer Supremes, a planet that was once under siege by Asgard's enemy, the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, who, using the deadly Casket of Ancient Winters, nearly scoured the planet of all life during an age long past.
"May you survive and thrive, little one!"
Heimdall moved his gaze away as the pod neared the atmosphere of Earth, the pod slowing immensely so that the landing impact would not kill the occupant within.
Flames engulfed the pod as it entered the atmosphere and began falling towards the northeast United States.
Specifically Forest Park in Queens, New York.
BOOM....
