Strawberry seemed devastated. "You don't understand. She lost her baby. She lost her baby before she even gave birth. And now she blames everyone for it. She says it's Queen Otrera and Queen Penthesilea's fault."
Now Byron understood the severity of the situation. He pulled away from Strawberry, confusion and shock the only emotions registering on his face.
"How did this happen? When?" he asked.
Tears ran down Strawberry's cheeks. "It happened six months after you disappeared. We had just finished building the castle, and Penthesilea decided to go back to her city with all the girls who were pregnant because she didn't feel like this was a safe place to give birth."
Strawberry said this so casually that it hit Byron like a tsunami. He knew he had fucked lots of girls, but nothing could have prepared him for this information.
