Commander Lan rubbed his temple and waved a hand, signaling for Captain Irvin to take a seat.
"Congratulations, Captain Ronache," Etienne commented.
Irvin smiled at him and mumbled thanks. He immediately claimed the nearest empty chair while receiving congratulatory greetings from even the Minders inside the room.
Beside him, Captain Cornelius of Bravo Team 1 started to sit as well. However, the commander raised a hand again, stopping Cornelius just before he could fully lower himself into the chair.
Cornelius paused awkwardly halfway down. Rather than standing back up, he simply remained there in that almost-seated position and looked at the commander expectantly. He just stared, blinking innocently and waiting.
I almost laughed. This meeting was turning into a complete circus.
