I'm going to keep this quick and simple. This book will be going on hiatus for a little while. One of my Game of Thrones books is currently being revised, and I've decided that I want to try setting it during the House of the Dragon time period instead.


This change will allow me to focus more on the characters and their individual lives. I won't have to spend as much time creating complicated histories and past relationships between everyone before the main story can begin, which took up a large amount of my time with this book. Instead, I'll be able to jump into the story much faster while developing those relationships naturally as the plot continues.


Some of my friends have said that I'm only stepping away because this book received negative comments about the writing. Maybe they think I'm running away from the criticism, but honestly, I don't care even if that is partly true. At the end of the day, I write for myself and because I enjoy creating these stories.


If you enjoy the books I make, then that genuinely makes me happy. If you don't enjoy them, that's okay too. I'm willing to accept criticism, and some of the comments I've received have actually been helpful. I know that my writing isn't perfect, and I'm not bothered by people pointing out things that I could improve.


This isn't the end of the book. I'm simply taking a break from it so I can work on something else, improve my writing, and return when I feel ready to continue.
