Chapter 15 - chapter 15: meeting with darkseid

Void flew out like a cannonball, crashing through mountains until he finally stopped after entering a city and destroying over fifty buildings.

"Fuck… I love this…" Void stood up from the ruins of the building and grinned.

Demons were war-like in nature, and this battle with Superman was awakening his primal instincts. Besides, Void was excited. Who on Earth ever got the chance to fight Superman?

Void didn't bother moving further because Superman was already there, his rage making him behave like a beast.

Void threw a punch, and the two collided.

BOOM.

The skyscrapers in the city were obliterated, and everyone within a 100 km radius turned into blood mist or meat paste.

Superman didn't care. He only wanted to kill the demon in front of him, while Void fought like an awakened beast hunting prey.

Void and Superman continued fighting at ten times the speed of sound, colliding with fists and kicks. Their battle was purely primal, and the destruction around them kept increasing.

As they fought, both of them kept breaking through—reaching quasi-peak and then peak Rank 0 existence. At that level, they could directly obliterate anything within a 1,000 km radius.

Eventually, Superman regained a bit of his senses and carried Void into the sky.

Void was at a slight disadvantage because he couldn't fly or shoot lasers from his eyes. Nevertheless, they had already caused irreversible damage to the entire continent.

"Clark… Clark, come in. Can you hear me?" Superman heard Batman's voice through the communicator.

"Yes, I can. Bruce… you're still alive?" Superman asked in surprise while blocking Void's kick.

"Okay, I have an idea, but I'll need twenty minutes," Batman said.

"Don't tell me it's a nuclear bomb, Bruce. It won't work," Superman replied.

"It isn't. I've been working on our headquarters—it's in space now—and it has a dangerous weapon that can kill him. A death ray."

Clark was happy at the news, but then his expression darkened again.

"How fast is it?" Clark asked.

"Ten times the speed of sound."

Hearing this, Superman smiled bitterly.

"That might have worked a few minutes ago, but now we're moving at twenty times the speed of sound… but fine. You have twenty minutes, Bruce."

"What? Okay… but what are you going to do? Please tell me it's not what I'm thinking," Batman said.

"It is, Bruce. I'll hold him down, and you shoot us."

"Clark, if it can kill him, it will kill you too," Batman said while flying his jet back to Gotham.

"It's fine. Wonder Woman and the others died for this planet. I'll die protecting it too. Besides… I was dead once," Superman said as he threw Void directly toward Earth.

"Alright… good luck, Clark."

"You too."

Click.

The communication ended.

"Alfred, prepare the spaceship now. I'm going to space," Batman said through the intercom.

"Yes, sir."

Void and Superman's battle became even more brutal. Both were already injured. Void's blood burned like magma, and his regeneration kept healing him instantly. Superman, however, was accumulating damage, and his injuries were getting worse. Anyone could clearly see who was at a disadvantage.

Twenty minutes passed, and during that time, Void and Superman had already killed millions of people.

"It ends now," Superman said as he flew toward Void.

"Gladly," Void grinned.

He jumped up to meet him, but at the last moment Superman changed direction, tackled Void in the abdomen, and carried him upward.

Superman grabbed Void's arms from behind.

"What are you doing?" Void asked in shock.

"Killing you," Superman replied.

Void's eyes widened in horror.

He had forgotten about Batman.

Everyone knew Superman was the strongest member of the Justice League, but Batman was the most dangerous.

Void's heart pounded. Whatever was coming… could kill him.

"You will die too," Void said, struggling.

"It's worth it," Superman replied as he continued flying upward.

They reached the thermosphere.

---

In space, a massive spaceship orbited Earth.

Batman had just arrived and docked.

"Maximum power now," Batman ordered.

The crew immediately moved to their stations.

Batman saw Superman and Void in the distance and locked onto them. He hesitated for a moment… then pressed the button.

Tii… tii… doo… doo… ding…

The death ray activated and fired directly at them.

"AAAAHHH! FUCK! FUCK YOU, SUPERMAN! AND YOU DAMN JUSTICE—AAAAHHH!"

Void screamed in agony as a massive hole slowly formed in his chest. His regeneration struggled to keep up.

The beam continued for several seconds before finally shutting down.

A huge hole was visible in Void's chest. Superman, however, only had a small burn on his skin. He survived because Void's regeneration partially absorbed the damage.

Void fell back toward Earth.

A burning meteor streaked through the atmosphere.

BOOM.

He crashed, creating a kilometer-deep crater.

Superman looked at the spaceship one last time before returning to Earth and landing beside Void.

He stared at the being who had pushed him this far—killed the Justice League, destroyed millions of lives, and murdered his parents.

He felt empty.

It would take hundreds of years for Earth to recover… but at least he had saved the planet.

Or so he thought.

Void slowly stood up, an eight-inch gaping hole still in his chest. His legs trembled.

"You…" Void coughed blood, his breath heavy. He truly felt hollow.

"You… think you… won?" Void smiled faintly and closed his eyes.

(Ding)

Strength recovered. Human form can only suppress up to Peak Rank 0.

Void's body slowly started recovering, and Superman opened his mouth in shock.

"What's happening down there, Clark?" Batman asked.

"Bruce, you should—" Superman tried to respond, but he couldn't finish his words before his head was slammed into the ground.

Void pulled Superman's head out of the crater and punched him in the gut. Superman bent over in pain, and Void grabbed his head from behind.

"Oh, Last Son of Krypton…" Void said with a laugh.

"True… because you will be the last," Void said as he twisted Superman's head and killed him in the same way Superman had killed General Zod.

"Clark… what's going on down there?" Batman's voice echoed again.

Void paused, then looked at Superman's ear. A small communication device was inside it.

Void picked it out, wondering how it hadn't been destroyed during their fight.

"Run, Batman," Void said coldly before crushing it.

Finally, Void looked around at the destruction he had caused—the thick smell of blood, the floating mist of crimson, scattered body parts, and barely living remnants.

"Sigh… being weak is a sin," Void murmured.

A year ago, he had been just as weak as they were. Void wondered what would have happened if humanity had been discovered by advanced races in his former universe. Humans depended too much on external power—without it, they were no different from ants.

Even now, during his fight with Superman, the military across the world had been monitoring the battle and considered launching nuclear weapons. But after seeing the scale of destruction and their speed, they realized even nukes were completely useless.

One thing Void was certain of was this: if humans focused on strengthening their bodies instead of relying on external tools, they might already be capable of surviving in space.

Void had thought of two paths for body enhancement: gene technology and nanotechnology.

For genes, Earth already had countless biological samples. One could extract the strongest survival traits from animals and integrate them into humans to create a superior species.

Nanotechnology, however, was harder. Each nano-bot would require a power source—antimatter, for example—and the ability to convert matter into usable energy.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted. That was the core difficulty.

And even then, the nanobots would need to exist either inside the body or externally as a cellular system.

Void paused.

Maybe in his past life, he should have been a scientist.

But who said a demon couldn't be one?

He laughed softly at the thought and looked toward the horizon. The sun was setting, casting a desolate glow over the ruined planet.

A dying world.

Void sighed and was about to transform back into his demon form to finish cleaning the planet—

When suddenly, a portal appeared.

Seeing the leg stepping out of it almost drove Void insane.

There was no doubt.

A true terror had arrived.

The harbinger of destruction.

The God of Chaos.

Darkseid.

A four-meter-tall being slowly walked out as the portal closed behind him.

---

In space…

Batman tried to contact Alfred, but there was no response.

He didn't need anyone to tell him anymore.

Earth was doomed.

"Take one last look at Earth… we are leaving. The human race must survive," Batman said as he sat in the command seat, clenching his fists.

Who would have thought today would be the day Earth finally fell—barely a day after surviving Steppenwolf?

The crew on board had sorrowful faces. Some cried silently, but Batman gave no time for hesitation as he ordered the jump into hyperspace, and the ship vanished.

---

On Earth…

Darkseid looked at the devastated planet and the fallen Justice League members—especially the Kryptonian.

"Interesting… you did a great job," Darkseid said, looking down at Void.

"Come. Be my servant."

Void stared at the four-meter-tall being in front of him, his eyes turning blood red.

He had survived a Rank 3 attack, destroyed the Justice League, nearly wiped out a planet—and now he was supposed to die here?

Impossible.

His ego wouldn't allow it. His pride wouldn't allow it. He himself would not allow it.

Void had already used the system, and although this universe was weak, Darkseid was a Peak Rank 1 existence.

Void had almost no chance of survival.

Still—

"Fuck you… who are you to look down on me?"

"I am no servant."

"I am Void."

"A demon."

"The Primordial Demon, born from chaos and destruction itself."

"I bow to no one. I worship no god."

"I am Void—the reincarnation of chaos—and I will kill a god today."

His aura exploded outward. The temperature skyrocketed. His heartbeat echoed like a war drum.

DOKOM… DOKOM…

Void began transforming.

His body expanded, growing larger and more monstrous.

He stretched out his right arm.

Far away… 15 kilometers underground…

His giant sword suddenly glowed red.

It trembled violently—responding to its master's rage.

The ground exploded as it shot upward, breaking through layers of earth before flying directly into Void's hand.

Void grabbed the hilt.

His transformation completed.

A ten-meter-tall black demon stood with inverted bat wings, two horns, a long tail, and glowing red patterns across his body.

He dragged his eight-meter-long sword across the ground.

BOOM.

The ground turned to magma beneath his steps.

Void walked forward.

Darkseid smiled.

"I could warm up a little."

Void shook his head slightly, aware of the truth.

He might die here.

But he was still a demon.

And demons do not run.

Void vanished and reappeared directly in front of Darkseid.

Time itself seemed to pause.

A ten-meter demon stood face-to-face with a four-meter god.

And then .....
