The long, shiny hallway outside the Hokage's office was completely quiet and full of tension. The heavy double doors had barely locked shut before the Konoha Council Ministers gathered together, their faces twisted with shock and pure anger.
They were supposed to be the most important leaders in the village, the wise old elders who helped run the nation. Yet, they had just been kicked out of the room like misbehaving children.
Shimura Danzo stood perfectly still, both of his hands gripping the top of his wooden cane. His one open eye was narrowed, shining with a dangerous, calculated anger.
Next to him, Mitokado Homura was practically shaking, his glasses slipping down his nose because his jaw was clenched so tight.
Utatane Koharu stood with her arms crossed, breathing quickly and sharply.
They stood in a tight circle, completely ready to ambush and scold Minato the exact second he walked through those doors. They wanted answers about the chaotic things that happened the previous night. In their minds, the Young Hokage had crossed a line, and they were not going to forgive him.
Only Sarutobi Hiruzen stood a little bit away from the group. The old Sandaime Hokage looked incredibly tired. The deep lines on his face became more visible as he leaned back against the wall, staring blankly at the floor.
Finally, the heavy wooden doors clicked and swung open.
Minato stepped out into the hallway, his white Hokage haori swaying gently behind him. His face was a completely blank, icy mask. All the loud anger from his outburst inside the room was gone, replaced by a cold, calm look.
Before Danzo or Homura could even step forward to open their mouths, Minato completely ignored them.
He did not look at them, he did not acknowledge them, and he did not give them a single chance to speak. Instead, his sharp blue eyes locked instantly onto the Old Former Hokage.
"Sarutobi-sama—" Minato said, his voice quiet, smooth, and completely firm. "A word. In private."
Without waiting for an answer, Minato walked over to the far corner of the wide hallway. He went far enough away so their voices wouldn't carry, but stayed where everyone could still see them. Hiruzen let out a soft, heavy sigh, pulled his pipe from his robes, and slowly followed the young man.
Behind them, the rest of the council was left frozen in absolute shock.
Homura's mouth literally fell open because Minato walked right past them without listening to a single one of their demands. It was a massive insult to their pride.
"Did he... did he just walk right past us?!" Homura whispered angrily, his voice shaking with disbelief as he stared toward the corner.
"The nerves of him! He thinks because he wears that Hokage cloak, he is completely above the rules!"
"He is losing his mind—!!" Koharu snapped under her breath, bad-mouthing the young leader with deep bitterness.
"First he destroys the reputation of the Hyuga Main House, and now he treats the Village Council like common Genin? He is hiding something huge about last night, and he knows he cannot explain it to us."
Danzo's grip on his cane tightened until his knuckles turned completely white, a low, mean laugh escaping his lips. "Let him play his little games for now..." Danzo muttered darkly, his voice full of venom as he watched the two Hokage speak in the distance.
"Minato is letting his emotions run his authority. A leader who snaps so easily in public is a danger to this village. He will learn very soon that Konoha cannot be run by a boy who throws tantrums."
Meanwhile, in the quiet corner of the hallway, Minato stood with his back to the angry elders, his arms crossed over his chest.
He waited until Hiruzen stopped right beside him before he spoke. His voice dropped into a low, deadly serious whisper.
"Sarutobi-sama, I need an honest answer..." Minato started, his blue eyes looking straight into the older man with intense focus.
"The events of last night were classified under the highest level of village security. Only a few specific people knew what happened, let alone the exact details. So tell me... how did that information got out?"
Hiruzen took a slow, careful puff from his pipe, blowing a thick cloud of grey smoke toward the ceiling. He did not look angry; he just looked incredibly sad and burdened.
"Minato..." Hiruzen began softly, his voice calm but heavy. "Secrets in a village as large as Konoha have a way of leaking out through the cracks, especially when the event is this huge. You cannot completely lock down the eyes and ears of every single ninja."
"This wasn't a normal leak, and you know it!" Minato answered back instantly, his tone sharp and precise.
"Hyuga Kozuki walked into that room knowing every specific details. He didn't just guess. Someone deliberately handed him that information to cause a massive political fight inside my council. I need to know who broke the rules."
Hiruzen slowly lowered his pipe, looking down at the floor as a heavy silence settled between them. He looked deeply ashamed, his shoulders dropping as he finally let out a soft, defeated sigh..
"It was me, Minato..." Hiruzen admitted softly, his voice cracking slightly with regret. "I was the one who spoke."
Minato's eyes narrowed slightly, his body freezing up as he stared at his old mentor. He didn't interrupt; he just waited for the older man to explain.
"After the chaotic events last night, I was deeply worried about the safety of the village." Hiruzen continued, running a tired hand over his face.
"I went to speak with Danzo in private to discuss the security measures. I told him what happened... and I honestly do not know how it spread to the rest of the council and the Hyuga clan after that."
Minato closed his eyes for a brief second, taking a slow, deep breath to keep his absolute composure. When he opened them, his blue eyes were completely cold.
He looked over his shoulder toward the other side of the hallway, where Danzo was still standing, watching them like a hawk.
"You told Danzo-sama!" Minato repeated flatly, his voice dropping into a dangerous, low whisper.
"The one person who constantly uses village secrets for his own political games. You handed him the perfect weapon, Sarutobi-sama."
Hiruzen looked up, his eyes full of worry. "Minato, he is a chief councilor and my oldest teammate. I believed he had the right to know so we could protect Konoha. I did not think he would leak it to a proud elder like Kozuki just to ambush you."
"Then you completely underestimated his hunger for control..." Minato said smoothly, his tone cutting like a kunai. "Because of that conversation, my council room was almost turned into a war zone today."
Before Hiruzen could answer, the sharp, heavy sound of a wooden cane thudded loudly against the floor.
Danzo couldn't stand being left out any longer. He marched over to their quiet corner, his face twisted in deep anger. Homura and Koharu followed right behind him like a shadow, their expressions just as bitter.
"That is enough, Minato!" Danzo shouted, butting directly into their conversation. He glared at the Young Hokage, his single eye flashing with pure rage.
"You have spent enough time ignoring this council! You think you can just push us aside, hide critical village secrets, and then whisper in a corner with Hiruzen? You are forgetting your place!"
Minato turned his body slowly, his blue eyes locking onto Danzo with a freezing calmness. He didn't speak, which only made Danzo angrier.
"The events of last night were a massive threat to Konoha!" Danzo snapped, pointing his cane aggressively toward the ground.
"As chief councilors, it is our absolute duty to know everything that endangers this village. Instead of cooperating, you acted like a child, throwing a tantrum and banning a proud elder from the council just to hide your own mistakes! You are completely failing to handle the pressure of that seat!"
As soon as Danzo finished scolding him, Homura stepped forward, adjusting his glasses with a tight, furious glare.
"Danzo is completely right, Hokage!" Homura said, his voice shaking with offense.
"You cannot run this village like a dictator. By humiliating the former Hyuga clan head in front of everyone, you have created a massive political mess. We are the ones who have to fix the relationships between these noble families, yet you treat us like we are the enemy!"
Koharu crossed her arms even tighter, nodding her head in deep disapproval as she joined in.
"We have guided this village since the days of the Sandaime's youth," Koharu said coldly, her voice dripping with bitterness.
"We have seen an entire era of Shodaime-sama and Nidaime-sama, Minato. A real leader listens to the wisdom of his elders. But you are letting your raw emotions guide your decisions, and it is making the entire foundation of Konoha look weak."
The three old ministers stood side by side, their angry glares fixed on the young man, fully expecting him to bow his head or try to defend himself after getting yelled at by the highest authorities in the village.
For a long moment, Minato didn't say a single word. He just stood there, his white haori perfectly still, staring at the three elders with eyes so icy cold they could freeze water.
The sheer pressure coming off the young Hokage made the air in the hallway feel incredibly heavy.
Homura and Koharu slightly shifted their feet, suddenly feeling a bit nervous under his gaze, but Danzo kept his chin held high, refusing to back down.
Then, Minato took a single step forward, directly facing Danzo.
"Are you completely finished?" Minato asked, his voice deadly quiet, yet so sharp it cut right through the elders' anger.
Danzo opened his mouth to snap back, but Minato didn't give him the chance. He shut him down instantly.
"SILENCE!!!" Minato commanded, his voice dropping into a terrifyingly firm tone that made all three elders froze.
Minato locked his blue eyes directly onto Danzo, focusing the entire weight of his fury on him. "You stand here and lecture me about the safety of Konoha, Danzo-sama? You talk about my place as leader? Let me remind you exactly what happened today."
Minato leaned in just a fraction, his gaze burning with pure disgust. "Last night's events were classified under the highest level of village security. It was a secret meant to protect our people from panic. And yet, less than twelve hours later, a proud, angry elder walks into my council room knowing every single specific detail. Do you think I am stupid, Danzo-sama?"
Danzo's single eye widened slightly, his grip tightening on his cane, but Minato kept going, speaking fast and hitting hard.
"You didn't care about fixing political messes, and you certainly didn't care about the village..." Minato said smoothly, his tone dripping with cold anger.
"The exact second you got your hands on a piece of classified data, you weaponized it. You deliberately handed that information to Hyuga Kozuki-san, knowing exactly how arrogant and reckless he is. You pushed him into that room to start a political war, hoping it would make me look weak so you could grab more power for yourself!"
"Minato, how dare you accuse—" Homura tried to butt in, his face turning red with offense.
"I told you to be quiet, Homura-sama!" Minato snapped, flashing a dangerous glare at him that made the old man's mouth snap shut instantly.
Minato turned his attention back to a completely silent Danzo. "Your little game almost destroyed the unity of our noble clans today. You used a crisis to play politics, and that is an act of pure disloyalty to the throne."
"If I ever catch you leaking classified village data to spark a personal rebellion again, I will not just ban people from a room. I will strip you of your titles, lock down your foundation, and deal with you as a traitor to Konohagakure. Do not test my patience again."
Koharu opened her mouth to speak, her hands shaking, but the terrifying power radiating off Minato made the words die in her throat.
She looked at Hiruzen for help, but the old Sandaime just kept his eyes glued to the floor, remaining completely silent. He knew Minato was 100% right.
Minato adjusted his haori, his blank, icy mask completely returning to his face. He didn't wait for a response, he didn't care about their excuses, and he didn't give them a single second to recover from the massive earful.
"This conversation is officially over!" Minato said coldly. "Go back to your duties. And stay out of my way."
With those final words, Minato turned on his heel and walked straight past them. His white haori swept through the air as he marched down the hallway, leaving Danzo, Homura, and Koharu standing there in absolute shock, their faces pale and their pride completely crushed.
As the heavy doors of the Hokage building closed on the bitter elders, the tense and angry atmosphere of the morning finally began to lift.
Moving away from the dark, stressful administrative halls, the rest of the village was completely unaware of the political storm that had just taken place.
By the time the bright morning sun reached higher into the sky, warming the busy streets of Konoha, it was around 10:00 AM. The village was completely full of life. Shinobi were walking back from early morning missions, and citizens were rushing around happily to do their daily shopping.
Right along one of the main paths, a small, cozy dango shop was wide open for business. The sweet, delicious smell of roasted rice dumplings and sugary soy glaze drifted heavily through the air, making people stop in their tracks just to take a sniff.
Outside the shop, a long wooden veranda held a few low benches painted a bright, clean red. A soft, green fabric roof shaded them from the warming sun, letting a gentle chill fall over the seating area.
On top of the red benches, small wooden plates were neatly set up, holding sticks of perfectly round dango—the classic pink, white, and green treats glowing under the morning light.
A few customers sat casually on the benches, sipping warm green tea from small ceramic cups and chatting happily. The peaceful, sweet atmosphere of the shop felt completely far away from the heavy, angry political drama that had shaken the Hokage building just a couple of hours earlier.
The gentle breeze blew through the green fabric roof, but the peaceful feeling of the dango shop didn't last long. On one of the red wooden benches, a small group of women from different ninja families were sitting close together.
They weren't enjoying the sweet treats; instead, their heads were huddled tight, their voices dropping into eager, quiet whispers.
One of the women looked around nervously. Her family belonged to the proud Fuma clan, and her husband had actually been sitting inside the Hokage's council room just two hours ago.
He had come home completely pale, and she couldn't keep the massive secret to herself any longer.
"Did you hear what happened early this morning?" she whispered, her eyes wide as she leaned in close.
"The entire council room completely exploded. It all started because of what happened to Kushina-sama the night before! Hyuga Kozuki actually stood up and completely doubted the Yondaime! He practically accused Minato-sama of hiding dangerous mistakes from the village."
The other women gasped, instantly dropping their teacups onto the wooden plates.
"What?!" one of them whispered in absolute shock.
"Kozuki-sama said that on the Hokage's face? He is one of the most powerful elders in the village!"
"Yes, but Yondaime-sama completely shut him down!" the Fuma woman nodded rapidly, her voice shaking with excitement.
"Minato-sama didn't answer his questions at all. He just used his absolute power to strip the old elder of every single one of his historical titles!"
"Kozuki is officially banned from the council forever. People are already whispering... is the Hokage really trying to protect the village, or is he just using his power to hide a terrible truth?"
The other two women exchanged worried, frightened looks. "But why would Kozuki risk everything just to doubt the Hokage? What could possibly be so dangerous that it caused a fight like that?"
The Fuma woman smirked slightly, leaning even closer until their foreheads almost touched.
"Because of a child.." she whispered darkly.
"My husband told me that a strange kid was caught last night. And you know how our Fuma clan used to work so closely alongside the Uchiha in the old military police force? Well, because of those old connections, some of our clan guards were near the holding cells early this morning. They saw the reports. This kid... he has an Uchiha connection. The higher-ups are trying to lock the information down completely, but the bloodline ties don't lie."
"An Uchiha connection?!" the second woman gasped, covering her mouth in pure dread.
"But the Uchiha are already so isolated... if they are involved in whatever happened to Kushina-sama..."
The small group shivered, the gossip about the Hokage, the Fuma guards' discovery, and the secret Uchiha child made their blood run cold. The stability of Konoha felt incredibly fragile all of a sudden.
But then, the third woman sitting at the edge of the bench let out a low, chilling sigh. Her face was completely pale, and she hadn't touched her dango at all.
"You are worrying about a fight in a council room, and secrets about the Uchiha..." The older woman said, her voice dropping into a deep, secret tone that instantly cut through the gossip.
The happy noises of the surrounding street seemed to fade away as she stared blankly into her dark tea. "But you have no idea what is actually crawling toward our borders right now."
The other women turned to her, the playful gossip completely dying. "What do you mean?"
The older woman looked up, her eyes filled with a pure, haunting dread.
"My son just returned from a high-level scouting mission near the frontier..." she whispered, her teeth slightly chattering as a cold shiver ran down their spines.
"Have any of you heard about what happened two days ago near the borders of Hi no Kuni and Kusagakure—?"
