Chapter 155 - 155: Giant monkey smash!

The sound of Vegeta pounding his chest in his Ozaru form echoed throughout the desert like a massive war drum. Driven by his most primitive instincts, he stomped the ground, whipped his tail, opened his mouth, and let out a long roar.

"Raaargh!" A stream of purple energy burst from his mouth, piercing the clouds with this cannon of ki. It could be seen from a distance, both on the planet and beyond. His presence spread across the entire planet, majestic yet full of brutality and savagery.

Every Earthling with even the slightest sensitivity to ki could feel his power and sense his malice and evil intertwined with his energy. Even the strongest among those standing before him felt a deep chill at the sight.

Vegeta was on par with Goku, perhaps a little more, perhaps a little less, but the power he unleashed with his transformation was so great that even Goku was afraid. He knew that even if he transformed, he could never reach that level.

"This is the bloodline of kings! This is the superior bloodline of the Saiyans! This is the power that boils in my blood!" As if sensing Kakarot's doubts, Vegeta stopped acting like a giant ape and spoke.

His deep crimson eyes looked upon the Earthlings with nothing but contempt and disgust. His deep, resonant voice, which echoed throughout the place, reflected his immense size and overwhelming power. No one could ignore him. No one could silence him. And, unless they made a great effort, no one could defeat him.

"You Earthlings! No matter how strange this world may be, it cannot withstand my power!" the prince exclaimed, pointing his index finger at the ground beneath his enormous feet. A purple glow enveloped the ground.

In his human form, he would have fired a thin beam of ki. Now, however, it was a thick cannon of energy that slammed into the ground, shattering the soil, piercing the rock, and penetrating deep into the strata.

When it stopped, a deep hole remained, so deep that light could not reach the bottom. It soon filled with water as if Vegeta's action had exposed an underground water vein, but no one was in the mood to admire this wonder of nature.

Everyone was transfixed by his display of power and the raw force emanating from him. Vegeta's tail twitched gently, like a curious cat's when it finds something interesting.

"Kakarot, why don't you try transforming? Hehehe..." Vegeta burst out laughing and pointed at the Earthling Saiyan with that same index finger. The Saiyan was trembling, but not out of fear.

Goku was only afraid for his wife and Bulma. Could a dwarf shorter than him really scare him? No! What he was feeling right now, what was burning inside him and making him tremble, was a terrible rush of excitement.

Ever since he stopped suppressing his true nature, he hadn't felt such an intense urge to fight. However, he ignored Vegeta because he sensed that the artificial moon's special waves responded only to Vegeta's energy.

This made the technique personal and unusable for him. His own technique didn't have that capability, but he sensed that he could achieve something similar if he dedicated himself to working on it. In the heat of battle, though, that would be foolish.

What Goku wanted to do was fight that giant. It was as if something were resonating inside him. A special rhythm emerged in his heart, gently resonating with a concept he wasn't even aware of.

You see, Son Goku could be considered the counterpart to one of the fiercest figures in the omniverse: Sun Wukong. He wasn't the Fighting Buddha, but the essence of the rebellious monkey coursed through his blood.

What did Sun Wukong fight against? He fought against celestial nobility, gods who took gigantic forms, kings, and anything that sought to hold him back or kill him.

Vegeta wasn't a god by any means, but he was a 'noble,' a superior being. Plus, he was a giant! Goku raised his hand as if expecting something. From his home, an object shot out and flew straight toward him.

"What are you waiting for, Kakarot? Are you afraid of me? Won't you say anything? Won't you do anything against me? Well, then let me destroy everything you hold dear!" Vegeta was irritable due to his transformation. Combined with his rage over Nappa's death, his patience had run out.

He took a step forward, causing the entire desert to tremble. His enormous presence weighed heavily on the Earthlings present, who assumed fighting stances. However, three of them were excited.

We've already talked about Goku. Bulma had a big smile on her face because she could sense that she would have to use her full power in this battle, which would allow her to reach new limits.

Piccolo felt the same way. A battle like this would be a great experience for him and further boost his fighting ability. These three were the most eager for this showdown.

However, a sonic boom caught everyone's attention. Those present watched as a red object arrived on the battlefield, leaving white trails in its wake. Without stopping, it landed in Goku's hand.

A red staff! The Saiyan swung the weapon nimbly within the small space he was in. Then, unable to contain his relentless excitement, he began to hop around.

How was he, Goku, supposed to face a giant enemy without his staff? It was made especially for that purpose! Besides, the staff suited him quite well, and he had never neglected it. It was one of Earth's legacies, possessing a hidden power that was slowly unlocked as the user grew stronger.

"Come on, Prince. Let's start this second round," Goku declared, smiling as the wind gently ruffled his signature hair, causing Vegeta to squint.

"Bastard..." muttered the Saiyan prince, who couldn't understand why these warriors didn't fear him. Why didn't they crumble in his presence? Why did it seem like they had the upper hand when he was the most powerful one here?

He would soon understand!

...

Freezer was not happy. The latest reports from the Saiyan scouts who had gone to Earth were very revealing in the final moments before they stopped transmitting data.

The emperor was thrilled by the mere presence of a Namekian, not to mention the peculiarities of the planet itself and the fact that there was another Saiyan on Earth, which he'd already confirmed via Raditz's scouter.

Sadly, however, his attention was drawn to the two fights those despised monkeys had gotten into. Nappa fought an Earth woman who was nothing special by his standards of beauty.

What man, woman, or being of any gender had he ever seen in the vastness of the Northern Galaxy? To him, that woman's appearance wasn't particularly noteworthy.

But her power was indeed remarkable. Of course, it didn't come close to a fraction of his own power, whether sealed or unleashed. However, he noticed that this warrior wasn't using her full power.

"This world keeps revealing more and more surprises. It reminds me of the Namekians and the Yardratians. Although Earthlings are weak on average, some are remarkable." Freezer assessed objectively since, as emperor, it was something he had to do no matter what.

He was the most powerful being in his galaxy and held the highest rank in the universe. He was clearly a transcendent being, yet he had to admit that the legacies of those three species made him envious.

"So, is that what made a low-level Saiyan like 'Kakarot' rise to that level?" The emperor muttered as he looked at a screen displaying the image of a young child. If Goku, Bulma, or Gohan Sr. were here, they would recognize him.

It was a photograph of Goku as a child! Other photos showed him as a baby in an incubator when he was born. Other photographs showed Gine, Raditz, and finally, Bardock.

"One descendant of that pesky monkey was enough, but now there's another. How could I forget the ant who dared to face my attack head-on? I can't forget his face. You look more like your father than your older brother, Kakarot, does." Freezer spoke these words in a neutral tone, but his eyes were narrowed, and a sinister smile played across his face.

At that moment, he knew, and he was frightened. He feared that his hair would turn a different color and unleash a power like in the legends, as his ancestors had said.

Fortunately, that wasn't the case. His attack killed him, shattered his world, and reduced the Saiyans to fewer than a handful. However, when he saw Kakarot's serious expression and reddish aura, he felt a chill run down his spine.

"I need to find Namek...now!" Trusting his intuition, since powerful beings generally have this ability well developed, Freezer urged his scouts on, threatening them with death.

He needed to make a wish that would secure his life against that legend! He doubted it would work against the God of Destruction. But he didn't need to go up against a god. He just wanted to overcome the fear that had gripped him ever since he heard those stories as a young man.

"Damn monkeys..." Freezer muttered in the darkness as he sat in his floating chair and gazed at the distant stars. Without a glass of wine in his hand, he had no desire to enjoy the delights of the universe.

Not until he found Namek and made his wish.

...

"I have to join the battle," said Chi-Chi as she walked toward the exit of the meeting room. She no longer wanted to just watch; it wasn't necessary anymore.

She could feel Vegeta's terrible, ominous ki right there! Even from a great distance, the invader's presence was so powerful that it didn't matter where you were. If you could sense the energy, you would sense him.

"Stick to the plan. It's not time for us to act yet," said Raditz. He was standing there, clenching his fists so tightly that they cracked. He was fighting the urge to join the battle. Even his aura was faintly visible, and he spoke through gritted teeth.

"Auntie, calm down. Mom and Uncle Goku have it under control," said Letty with a slight smile. The Bio-Warrior was now an adult with fully functioning emotions and complete wisdom. To Earth, she was just another Earthling despite her physical peculiarities.

Beside her stood Lazuli, who ruffled her daughter's hair as a way to comfort herself. She wanted to join the fight, too, but the plan her partner had devised was necessary.

However, someone was much more impatient: her twin brother, Lapis. He and Chi-Chi approached the door. He turned to stare intently at his younger sister.

"They don't have those devices anymore, and the detectors on their spaceships have been disabled. I think we can join the fight," Lapis said. This caused the blonde to think deeply about it.

"You know what? Let's join them! Let's go beat the crap out of that giant monkey. No offense," Lazuli said, giving Raditz a nervous smile. He simply waved his hand, not taking it seriously.

"Don't worry. We're going to join them. There are a few things I'd like to say to Vegeta in person," Raditz replied, walking toward the door with the rest of the group.

It was time for all the friends to lay siege to the giant monkey!
