His voice carried a hint of genuine regret, though the amused grin on his face made it difficult to take him completely seriously.
It was already the second morning since Brigid had repaid her debt, and they were finally leaving for the spatial fracture.
By now, Cassian had heard quite a lot about the place.
Not that he had met any nobles, royal officials, or other important figures himself. Brigid seemed to be getting most of the information from people operating far above his pay grade.
Unfortunately, those people didn't appear to know everything either.
Most of the information arrived in fragments, scattered reports passed along one piece at a time.
