Chapter 71 - PRESENT DAY part two

"I'm sorry, my dear," Sabrina said to her daughter who rested her head on her mother's chest sobbing,

"No, it's okay. They shouldn't play with me! I don't like them either!" Eve said through her sobs, "They call me monster, they are the ones who are monsters not me!"

"Yes, my dear. You are not a monster, you are a unique mermaid okay? Don't let them make you feel bad about yourself okay? One day they will come to see how beautiful your heart is and how lovely and sweet you are," Sabrina smiled to lift up her daughter's mood but the girl still looked unhappy,

That was when Airen swam in, she saw the young princess and her mother and bowed,

"Having a mother and daughter time?" Airen smiled as she said this, "How are you, Eve?- What's it?" She asked after seeing Genevieve's face, "Did something happen?" She turned to look at Sabrina when the girl wouldn't respond and just continued crying while her mother pat her back gently,

"She says the kids won't play with her..... She's really sad about it, Airen," Sabrina said with worry on her face while she continued patting her daughter until the girl fell asleep with puffy eyes, she carried her and went to lay her on her bed before swimming back to her chamber with Airen beside her,

"I really feel bad for her," Airen said but Sabrina shook her head with a smile,

"Don't worry, she will be fine in a matter of time, they will all come to love her one day," Sabrina said, she believed so. Her daughter wasn't a monster but just alot like her father.

"Yes, they will," Airen replied back with a smile, "You still miss him, don't you? That's why you wouldn't take a new mate," she said grinning as she stared at Sabrina looking flushed right now.

"I.... I don't miss him. He's in the past now and you are all my future. And why should I take a new mate when I already have an heir that can ascend my throne," Sabrina replied back to her. She had lived here for years now, she had trained non stop and now was the most powerful queen mermaid she can ever be,

"I see. So you don't miss him? Truly?"

"Yes, Airen. Yes," Sabrina responded before getting lost in her own thoughts and Airen knew full well that this woman misses her soulmate so much. "Eve's birthday is approaching, we should make it grand and invite the folks, maybe she will get to make a friend or two, what do you think?"

"That's an excellent idea, Airen. Thanks for caring for the well being of my daughter, I really worry about her sometimes," Sabrina said with worry marrying her face,

"She will be fine just like you said, okay?" And Sabrina nodded hoping so.

At the town of Venom, Lucian walked through the corridor, he hadn't been followed by Theodore this time as he had told him to go back to the castle like he always did and look after his son,

Lucian knocked on a door, not waiting for any response, he walked in and saw the man sitting and going through some paperwork on his desk, he grinned.

"When did his highness start to knock before coming into my study," Malcolm raised his head up with a smirk on his face while Lucian just hummed and sat opposite him,

"I guess today," he replied shortly before picking up the cigarette case on the table, taking one out of it, he lit it before putting it between his lips, he stared at Malcolm, "Happy birthday in advance," he smiled.

"Quit that. Who cares about a stupid birthday party, I'm glad it worked, getting you here after a long time," Malcolm paused with a smile as he thought of something, "Were you ignoring me after that day?"

"I have no reason to. Or did you work with the witches?" Lucian smirked and Malcolm knew better that he was just pulling his legs, that he didn't mean it and he also knew that he wasn't the only one Lucian had been ignoring but also he had changed. The incident that happened that day had killed something in him and had turned his already cold heart even more colder because ever since then, Lucian had taken the work at the council more serious, killing any out laws which had made Maximum really happy because he wasn't hearing of any mishaps happening. It was the girl.

"Was it the girl?" Malcolm asked knowing full well he had just annoyed the vampire who now glared at him, "It must be," he didn't mind poking him too.

"Why don't you mind your own business," Lucian answered with a grin.

"Well I think it's my business too," Malcolm chuckled which Lucian wasn't enjoying one bit, "You are my friend after all,"

"How's the preparation going?" Lucian asked instead ignoring his words which Malcolm grinned on,

"I am not the one that's decorating the castle you know?" Malcolm joked as he chuckled,

"I know, but I think you need to do something as you seem to be jobless right now, poking your nose in other people's business," Lucian responded with a grin before suddenly getting up, "I will look for something else to interest me as you seem to be a boring company," he smiled and walked away,

Walking in the corridors of the mansion, he continued walking, while opposite him a young lady with brown hair and same color eyes approached. She was dressed in an expensive gown and was looking beautiful too,

"Greetings, your highness," she bowed with a smile on her pretty face,

Lucian had never come across this woman before and she looked beautiful
