Chapter 11 - Grey Matter is too efficient

AN: sorry for making everyone wait. But here is another chapter. Please enjoy and share this fanfic.

Okay, I really need to get my shit together. First, I fought Vilgax (like a total idiot) only to get my ass handed to me. Next, I didn't prepare for the possibility of Ghostfreak getting out of the watch. Let's not forget, I need to actually learn real social skills and possibly make a translator since the prototype Omnitrix doesn't work for translation yet (or at least I don't know how to turn the translator on).

"Let's see," I said as I used my Greymatter transformation to finish building a 3D printer like machine. I just had to finish connecting some wires and enter some programs.

"That should do it."

"Hey, dweeb! What are you doing?" Gwen asked as I crawled out of the machine.

"I'm making something to help us in the future. But it needs to be tested first."

Grandpa Max came and saw the odd machine. "Ben, if you wanted a new bed, you could have just asked."

"It's not a bed. Or rather, the bed part is a bio scanner. The rest is a 3D printer for our suits," I informed as the watch timed out and turned me back to human.

"It better not blow up in our faces, doofus," Gwen said, making sure to keep a large enough distance between her and the machine.

I just ignored her words as I lay on the bed that reminded me of the 'link beds' from Avatar.

"Hang on, Ben. Let me test it for you," Grandpa said as he pulled me off and lay on the bed.

Gwen and I watched as the bed released green lights to scan Grandpa Max's body while a screen on the side of the machine started showing his medical information.

"Gotta say you are really healthy for your age, grandpa," I said off handedly as I look at the screen.

"Watch what you say Ben. I may be old, but I can still whoop your ass, even in your transformations."

I couldn't say anything against that except laugh awkwardly as I tried to focus on designing a new plumber suit for grandpa Max.

I started with the materials. I haven't had enough time to attempt to create unstable molecules, I can at least make Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers to work as an extra layer of protection for grandpa's old plumber suit.

"Okay, thankfully plumber suits already have everything needed. I just need to add extra layers of protection, and possibly make it lighter," I started muttering as I tapped on the screen to adjust the settings. "Grandpa, you can get out of there now."

As grandpa Max came out of the machine, the old plumber suit was getting modified.

"Now, I just need to install the nano machines from Upgrade and it should be able to collapse into itself until it fits in a badge," I muttered as I tapped the screen. "Darn, this would be easier if I was Grey Matter."

As I struggled to figure out how to change the settings, grandpa just walked next to me and nudged me aside so he could fix what I was doing wrong.

"Ages of experience," Grandpa said as if that explains everything. And knowing Maxwell Tennyson, it does.

The plumber suit finally came out of the machine. Neatly folded with the plumber badge placed as the buckle of the belt.

Grandpa Max reached for it and grabbed the badge causing the suit to get sucked into it. It looked like how the plumber hazmat suits activated when grandpa made us wear them during our fight against the alien mummy.

"Nano technology?"

"Simple nano tech. Its only program is to store or reinforce the armor," I explained as I brought out the schematics on the screen.

"That's still level 4 technology. Not bad," grandpa Max praised as he stepped aside to try out his new suit.

"Okay, Gwen. It's your turn."

"It better not blow up while I'm inside it, dweeb," she grumbled as she lay on the bio scanner.

As I waited for the machine to finish scanning her, I grabbed her Lucky Girl outfit and mask and placed it in a separate slot on the machine.

"Now, it needs to be flexible and light. Plus, something for her future magic," I muttered as I programmed the machine to use the lightest materials for her suit and add pockets for the spell book she'll steal from Charmcaster and slots for the charms of Bezel.

"What did you say?" Gwen called out from inside the Bio scanner

"Nothing," I called back as I made sure the carbon fiber was only reinforced in areas for protection like her forearm, shins, back, and mask. I then added the nano technology to reinforce everything else when needed.

When Gwen finally came out, she watched as the machine began to create her suit and spit out a slicker version of her Lucky Girl outfit. The differences were minimal. Like the sash was tied to an ornamental belt, there were pouches on her pants, the armor was noticeable, and the mask was metallic and far more detailed than her old one.

"Not bad," she said begrudgingly as she grabbed the suit, only for it to suck itself into the belt.

"I figured if you're gonna carry your suit, it should be in style," I bragged as I buffed my nails on my shirt.

Thankfully she didn't say anything. She just put her belt on and went to try out her suit.

"My turn!" I proclaimed as I inserted a sample from Upgrade's body I got after a nasty attack from S.H.I.E.L.D.

I quickly started adding everything needed, like a visor with different functions, jet boots for quick get aways, extra reinforced armor that's as light as possible, and a face mask I could use as a respirator in worst case scenarios like the vacuum of space.

"That should do for now," I mumbled as I finished tapping the screen and got into the bio scanner.

As the light scanned my body, I realized I forgot to add a specific way for my suit to retract itself like Gwen and grandpa's suits.

As the machine finished, I got out and quickly went to see the results.

"Too bad I can't wear you 24/7," I grumbled as I reached out for it.

As my hand grabbed the suit, it sucked itself into the Omnitrix and caused the watch to start going wild.

"Oh crap," I hissed as I started twisting the dial only for the watch to stop beeping and release a brighter light.

After it finished, the watch looked like the Omnitrix in season 2 of the Ben 10 Reboot.

"Aw man. I hate remakes," I grumbled as I twisted the dial. "That show better not be a real thing."

Checking the playlist of my 10 aliens, I was thankful to see nothing changed.

"Okay. So far, so good. Now, how am I supposed to put on my suit?"

With a twist of the dial the Omnitrix popped open and showed a settings like menu. Most of it was not accessible, but I was able to choose the 'Uniform' option.

Tapping the Omnitrix caused the watch to start glowing green until my body was covered in my new suit.

"Okay, getting a hero suit: check ✔ ️. Now, let's get to the other things."

~~Line break~~

Once again as Greymatter, I was in my mini lab, in the Rust Bucket. This time, I was working on a support AI. Not wanting to be an idiot, I only designed it to be able to discern certain things. Those include but aren't limited to: SOS signaling when I'm in danger, automatic identification of objects (such as materials, dangerous mixtures, and more), and the preservation of the user (control of the hero suit for immediate protection).

"Okay, your name shall be… PIT? No. REF? No. Hm… How about, APS? That 's it. Autonomous Protection System." I declared as I let the Omnitrix absorb the nanotech for my suit after my transformation ended.

~~Line Break~~

One final time, as my Greymatter transformation, I was working on the handheld universal translator along with a VPN for the laptop I made in my spare time.

"I guess, I should message the friends I made on the Web."

10K: Hey, is anyone up?

Snowflake:

Snowflake:

"Looks like the universal translator for texts is working perfectly."

10K: Hey, I already gave you that line of 'we the baddest'. I can't be your only source.

Lemsman: Hey, 10K. I'm almost done making that alternative to capture foam you told me about. I'm still having problems figuring out how this would be helpful.

10K: Have you ever used the capture foam police use? That stuff is hard to get rid of. But if you did what I suggested, then with a separate solution, you can just spray off the new foam.

Lemsman: Okay. Still not really seeing the point to the stuff.

10K: Imagine having that stuff for home security. One device used to detect burglars and capture them with the foam.

Lemsman: Oh! So the alarm can spray the foam to capture them, and spray the anti-foam for the police to take them.

10K: Now you're thinking creatively

"Looks like that smart guy is doing alright. I wonder if that singer will figure something out?"

~~Line Break~~

"Ben, ready to hit the road?" Grandpa Max asked as he entered the Rust Bucket while pushing the button on the buckle of his plumber's suit to make it go back into the badge.

"Sure am," I said as I waited for the Omnitrix to time out.

"Gotta say, Ben. This is the best thing you ever did with the watch," Gwen praised as she entered the RV still wearing her Lucky Girl suit.

"Hey, we needed the extra protection. Have you realized how close we got to dying?" I quipped as I turned back to human. "Where to next, grandpa?"

"Hopefully, somewhere we don't have to worry about dying," he joked as he started the engine, and drove.
