Chapter 91 - Chapter 89: Iron Dreams

Chapter 89: Iron Dreams

Snow fell endlessly across the eastern coast of Winter's Heaven.

But unlike the frozen wilderness that had existed here fourteen years ago, the harbor no longer slept beneath winter storms.

It lived.

Massive dock towers illuminated the coastline with warm white lights while steam whistles echoed endlessly through the freezing air. Hundreds of workers moved across gigantic harbor platforms carrying cargo, unloading ships, guiding trains, and operating machinery that most men beyond the Wall still believed to be miracles.

And far beyond the harbor—

Resting upon the dark sea like a floating mountain—

Winter's Titan waited silently.

Even anchored ten kilometers away from the docks, the colossal vessel dominated the horizon completely.

From the harbor itself, the Titan looked less like a ship and more like a black island drifting upon the ocean.

One young free folk boy stared toward it with wide eyes while standing beside the rail station.

"Every time I see it," he whispered, "it still feels unreal."

His father laughed softly beside him.

"Fourteen years ago, this entire coast was frozen emptiness."

The boy looked around at the massive harbor surrounding them.

Steel tracks.

Steamships.

Cargo towers.

Thousands of people.

It was difficult to imagine.

But his father remembered.

Back then, there had been nothing here except snow, ice, and scattered free folk tribes struggling to survive.

No roads.

No walls.

No docks.

No cities.

Only wilderness.

And then Jon Snow arrived.

Now?

The coast itself had become one of the greatest logistical centers in the known world.

Steam cargo ships moved constantly between docks while giant cranes lifted enormous cargo containers directly onto waiting rail platforms.

And everywhere—

White steam rose endlessly into the cold skies.

Not black smoke.

No coal burned within Winter's Heaven.

The engines were powered through heat-seals created using sealing arts, chakra, and the magic of this world itself. Endless heat boiled massive water chambers deep inside the engines, creating pressure powerful enough to move trains, cranes, cargo systems, and ships nonstop without needing sails or fuel.

To the free folk, it still felt like sorcery.

But slowly—

Very slowly—

They had begun understanding something else.

Knowledge.

King Jon did not command miracles randomly.

He understood how the world worked.

And then he changed it.

Far above the harbor, Jon Snow stood atop a massive observation tower overlooking the endless activity below.

Beside him stood Tom, loudly chewing meat while watching the harbor proudly.

"Gahahaha! Look at this place!"

Jon's eyes remained upon the coastline.

The old shipwright grinned widely.

"When you dragged me into this world, there was nothing here!"

That was true.

Jon remembered it clearly.

Frozen coastline.

Violent seas.

Scattered free folk camps.

Giants surviving through hunting.

Now?

Gigantic drydocks stretched endlessly across the harbor while massive steamships rested in construction bays larger than castles.

Workers moved everywhere.

Free folk engineers.

Seal specialists.

Builders.

Craftsmen.

And giants.

One enormous giant carefully lifted reinforced hull sections into position while dozens of workers secured them below. Another giant carried steel propeller components larger than wagons through the shipyard effortlessly.

No fear existed between them.

No hatred.

Only purpose.

The free folk no longer survived tribe by tribe.

They were becoming one people.

Tom pointed proudly toward one of the newest ships under construction.

Not Titan-sized.

Smaller.

One hundred fifty meters long.

Fast.

Efficient.

Built for trade and transport.

"These are better," Tom declared proudly.

Jon glanced toward him.

Tom laughed loudly.

"Not stronger than the Titan!"

"Nothing will be," Jon replied calmly.

The old shipwright grinned.

"But these…"

His eyes moved toward the dozens of steamships spread across the harbor.

"These change the world."

And that was the truth.

Winter's Titan inspired fear.

But fleets built economies.

Trade routes.

Supply systems.

Transportation.

Expansion.

Civilizations were not built through one legendary creation.

They were built through systems.

Below them, another train arrived from inland.

Massive cargo platforms unloaded directly beside the harbor while workers transferred supplies seamlessly between rail and sea transport.

No chaos.

No confusion.

Everything flowed with almost unnatural efficiency.

Jon watched silently.

The systems were beginning to sustain themselves now.

That mattered more than any battle.

Soon afterward, Jon descended from the tower and walked through the harbor alongside Tom while guards and workers bowed respectfully.

"King Jon."

"King Jon has returned."

The title no longer sounded strange.

The free folk spoke it naturally now.

Not because Jon demanded it.

Because he had earned it.

As Jon walked through the harbor district, countless sights blended together into something unimaginable for anyone south of the Wall.

Steam cranes loading cargo faster than hundreds of workers.

Seal-powered heating systems keeping entire sections operational despite freezing storms.

Trains moving nonstop toward Winter's Heaven itself two hundred kilometers inland.

That distance alone once made civilization here nearly impossible.

Fourteen years ago, traveling inland through these frozen lands meant death for many tribes during winter. Snowstorms swallowed camps whole. Ice rivers trapped travelers for days.

Now?

The train crossed the entire distance in four hours.

At the center of the harbor stood the massive rail station.

Iron tracks stretched endlessly inland across fully cleared territory guarded constantly by patrol towers and military stations.

One older free folk woman stood staring at a departing train with disbelief still visible on her face.

"When I was a child," she muttered softly, "these lands killed people."

Her granddaughter smiled proudly.

"Now they connect us."

The old woman looked toward the massive engine releasing endless white steam into the sky.

"No horses," she whispered.

"No stopping."

Then quietly—

"King Jon truly changed the world."

Jon boarded one of the armored transport trains soon afterward alongside Alex.

The massive engine roared to life beneath glowing heat-seals while thick white steam exploded upward around the station.

Then—

The train moved.

Fast.

The harbor disappeared behind them quickly while endless snowy plains stretched across the horizon.

Two hundred kilometers separated the coast from Winter's Heaven itself.

Yet the train crossed the frozen lands nonstop.

Inside the reinforced cabin, Jon quietly watched the landscape rushing past outside.

Massive bridges crossed frozen rivers.

Watchtowers guarded rail lines.

Cargo stations connected mining zones to industrial districts.

And trains—

Gods, so many trains.

Resource trains.

Cargo trains.

Military transports.

Supply chains moving endlessly across the kingdom.

Fourteen years.

Only fourteen years.

Sometimes even Jon himself struggled believing how much had changed.

Alex sat opposite him carrying several reports.

"The new greenhouse districts succeeded."

Jon looked up slightly.

"Food reserves?"

"Growing steadily."

That was another revolution few fully understood.

Huge heated greenhouse systems now operated around Winter's Heaven, allowing crops to survive despite brutal winters.

Not enough to ignore nature completely.

Not yet.

But enough to weaken winter's hold over survival itself.

Alex leaned back quietly.

"We're advancing too quickly."

Jon remained silent for several moments while another cargo train thundered past outside.

Finally he answered calmly.

"The South still fights over land."

His eyes moved toward the industrial smoke rising far ahead in the distance.

"We are building civilization."

The words settled heavily inside the cabin.

Because they were true.

Westeros measured power through:

noble blood

castles

armies

harvests.

Winter's Heaven increasingly measured power through:

infrastructure

logistics

industry

education

systems.

Completely different foundations.

Hours later, the train finally approached Winter's Heaven itself.

Even from kilometers away, the city dominated the frozen landscape.

Lights glowed endlessly beneath falling snow while steam rose continuously from factories, workshops, foundries, and industrial districts spread across the expanding city.

Roads remained clear despite heavy snowfall through underground heating systems.

And people—

So many people.

Free folk clans once scattered across endless frozen lands now lived together within heated districts, organized communities, and expanding neighborhoods protected by walls, infrastructure, and stability.

Not survival.

Civilization.

The train rolled into the massive central station beneath gigantic steel arches while whistles echoed throughout the city.

Thousands moved through the platforms constantly.

Workers.

Builders.

Engineers.

Families.

Order existed everywhere.

Outside the station, giant workers unloaded enormous steel beams while free folk craftsmen supervised assembly systems nearby.

That alone would seem impossible to southern lords.

Giants and free folk building civilization together.

Jon eventually climbed a high overlook above the industrial districts alongside Alex while snow drifted softly around them.

Below:

trains moved endlessly

factories glowed through snowfall

cargo systems operated nonstop

giant workshops illuminated the night.

Fourteen years ago, this land had been wilderness beyond the Wall.

Now?

A civilization was rising.

And it was only beginning.
