At this moment inside the Royal Palace of the land of birds there was a small banquet going on .
This was done to entertain and welcome the guests who had come to their land .
However if one were to notice that despite the fact that it was a royal banquet the preparations were very moderate .
There were only a few food items on the menu and nothing too extravagant was presented .
Looking at this some people might get confused .
And in a sense if it were to happen in any other case like when welcoming someone important from one of the bigger Nations then it would have certainly been considered an insult .
Were they deliberately insulting David by presented such a moderate arrangements .
No they were not doing any such things .
But some other reasons behind it .
First of all they have gathered information and came to know that David did not like elaborate parties and instead preferred smaller and less formal once .
So that's why they choose to not to do anything too much extravagant .
Secondly right now they simply couldn't afford anything else .
Afterall their land is facing a food shortage .
And if in a time like this if the royal family indulges itself in needless luxuries then it would send a bad message to the people .
The kind hearted Lord couldn't bring himself to do something like that while people are starving .
And in order to help the situation in the land the royal family along with many other noble families have used their own personal resources to stabilize the situation as much as they can .
" I hope Lord David doesn't mind the meager arrangements today . "

David truly did not mind the situation here as he could care less if the party was extravagant or not .

Not wanting to waste anymore time David quickly brought the main topic at hand and said it bluntly to everyone present .
Hearing this, Lord Ōwashi and the rest of the ministers were a little shocked because they were planning to let the guests have a little more fun before starting the meeting .

At this moment inside the spacious meeting room many people were seated in a discussion .
On one side was the royal family and the other members of the kingdom of birds led by their young king Lord Ōwashi .
On the other side there was David and a few of his assistants and guards .
" I understand your situation very well, Lord Ōwashi . "
After a long time of discussion finally the representative from the land of birds explained their troubling situation .
And while they said a lot of things, the summary can be summed up in a few points like the lack of food supplies, security problems , decreasing trade and funding issues .
" Lord Ōwashi, I came here today because as I have already said to your envoys before, I would like to open some camps in your country to help the people who are escaping the clutches of this conflict . "
" And for that purpose I would like to acquire some lands from your kingdom and also local labour to help me in this endeavour . "
Hearing this a surprised look appeared on everyone's face .
Yes ! They were informed of this decision before .
But still most of them thought it was not true .
But now it seems that they were quite wrong .
" Sir David we can arrange the land you asked for . "
" But how many such places are you going to build . "
" It would be helpful if you could give me the estimate so that we can properly allocate the lands . "
" Well I have not yet thought about the exact numbers but it would start at 12 .
" And if the situation comes to that we will increase the numbers accordingly . "
Immediately hearing about the number, the people from the land of birds suddenly began to look at each other .
While all of them were happy for this development, they simply could not afford to maintain 12 such sites .

After David finished speaking there was a small but deep discussion within the group of ministers and the royal family of the land of birds .
After some time when it was over Lord Ōwashi looked at David with a serious expression and said,
" We all, agree to all your terms sir David you may start selecting the lands you need and you will get full cooperation from our side . "
" And also you have our sincere thanks Sir David because if not for you then this problem would have haunted me for no end . "
With David handling all the required funding and other related things for this venture the land of birds wouldn't have to worry at all .
Not only that this would help them solve the rising problems of insecurity and how to manage such large number of people coming to the kingdom in waves .
But also give work and employment to the local people, something that is desperately needed in these times of conflict .
After hearing this David gave a polite thanks and then continued speaking .

This situation directly boosted his companies' needs as due to the modernised farming methods and other improvements his farms in the land of waves could produce much better crops both in quantity and quality .
As such he quickly became an important player in the local markets and the demands and orders his company were getting each day were increasing .
And while this was a good thing overall but this also on the other hand brought more and more pressure on his headquarters at the land of waves .
That's why he decided that it was time to expand the business and make strong local branches in other lands as well .
At first his preference were closer to coastal lands where he could buy and develop some ports of his own just like he did in the land of waves .
However it proved to be more difficult as negotiations dragged on for 2 months without much progress .
And it was at that time that envoys from the land of birds came to meet him .
This suddenly gave him a perfect idea .
While the land of birds did not have any sea route connection it was a much safer place that had yet to be involved in the third great shinobi war .
So it was much more stable than its neighbours like the land of rain which was practically a battleground itself .
But due to the current conflict even if they were not directly involved the land of birds was facing a lot of other problems as well
So they desperately needed as much as assistance they can get .
Something that David was very keen to provide .
" Hence it was the perfect place for me to set up my first branch office outside the land of waves. "
Not only was this place plentiful with land and labour but also in a prime position intersecting between various powers .
Once the third great shinobi war comes to an end this place will go and turn into a major connecting hub in the local region .
" But for now it's more like a starting point and for now it just needs to be completed and act as a base in the immediate vicinity . "
And then there was another reason why he wanted to make a branch office so fast .
