Not far outside Konohagakure, a massive barrier shimmered faintly in the rain-drenched night. Two full squads of Anbu stood guard at its perimeter, their masks glistening with mist, while countless more lay hidden in the surrounding forest—unseen sentinels breathing in rhythm with the night.
Every seal, every watchpoint, every movement existed for one reason:
The Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, Uzumaki Kushina, was about to give birth.
Inside the sealed chamber within the barrier, the atmosphere trembled with tension.
"Ah! Ah! It hurts! Ah—Minato! Ah!!!"
Kushina's agonized cries filled the air. Her face, pale and drenched in sweat, twisted in pain as waves of chakra surged uncontrollably from her body. The red hair that symbolized her Uzumaki blood stuck to her forehead, glowing faintly with each convulsion of the seal etched upon her abdomen.
Around her, several medical-ninja worked in perfect coordination—maintaining the seal that bound the Nine-Tails while assisting in the delicate process of childbirth. Their hands glowed with green chakra, sweat dripping from their temples as they fought to stabilize both mother and child.
Namikaze Minato paced back and forth near the foot of the bed, his usual calm composure completely gone. The Yellow Flash, Konoha's fastest shinobi, was now merely a panicked husband and an expectant father.
'Kushina… hold on just a little longer.' he thought anxiously. 'It's almost over… please, just a little more.'
Every time he heard her cry out his name, Minato's heart clenched painfully. The great Fourth Hokage, the man who had faced enemy armies without flinching, now felt utterly helpless in the face of his wife's pain.
'I wonder if the baby will look like her,' he thought with forced cheer. 'Or maybe… like me?'
The room quivered faintly as Kushina screamed again, and the Anbu guards outside tightened their formation, wary that the Nine-Tails' chakra might leak through the barrier.
Meanwhile—across the village—Senmei Asahi was moving in the shadows.
In the Namikaze Residence, the entire house had been turned upside down. The drawers, scroll racks, and hidden compartments were all open as Asahi methodically searched, his movements precise, his expression calm.
He had been in this house before. Every inch of it was memorized, every seal and trap accounted for. But tonight, he wasn't here as a doctor, or even as a comrade. Tonight, he was here for power—the kind of power that transcended bloodlines and destiny.
The sealing arts of the Uzumaki clan.
The core of his long-laid plan.
To Senmei Asahi, the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques represented far more than forbidden knowledge. They were the key to evolution—to reaching heights that no ordinary ninja could dream of.
'Even with the First Hokage's cells and Sage Mode,' he thought, sliding open another panel, 'I'm still limited by human potential. With just my bloodline, I'll never match the monsters that will appear in the future.'
He knew it better than anyone. He had read the original world's history—the Great Fourth War, the resurrection of Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, the godlike powers of the Sage of Six Paths. The so-called "ordinary ninja", no matter how talented, were dust before such forces.
Even if he trained for decades, his mortal body would never reach that summit.
He could not accept that.
Fusing with the First Hokage's cells had given him vitality, chakra reserves, and a deeper affinity for natural energy. But it wasn't enough. Even mastering Sage Mode only gave him a fraction of what would be needed to confront beings like the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki.
'Ordinary effort can't overcome bloodline destiny.' he thought bitterly. 'But maybe I can rewrite the rules.'
To do that, Asahi needed something greater—a new foundation of power.
He recalled how, in the original history, those who achieved Six Paths Senjutsu all shared one common trait: they possessed the chakra of all Nine Tailed Beasts. The Truth-Seeking Orbs they manifested—those black spheres of creation and destruction—were formed from that union.
'If I can acquire even a small portion of chakra from each of the nine beasts,' he reasoned, 'and seal them within myself using the Uzumaki clan's techniques… then perhaps I can reach that realm.'
The plan was audacious, even insane. But Asahi had already decided. He would not become a mere footnote in this world's story.
Becoming the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki was out of the question— Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's will would devour him. But partial chakra fragments, carefully separated and balanced, would not awaken her consciousness.
And for that… he needed the Uzumaki sealing jutsu.
He searched deeper, carefully avoiding the sensory seals Minato had left behind.
Then—click.
A faint sound of shifting wood echoed from beneath a desk.
Asahi's eyes narrowed. He reached into the hidden compartment and pulled out an aged scroll wrapped in a red cloth, the Uzumaki clan's spiral emblem still visible on its surface.
"Found it." he murmured.
For a brief moment, relief softened his features.
Months of planning, decades of foresight—it had all led to this one success.
He quickly resealed the compartment, replaced the scrolls he'd displaced, and vanished from the house in a shimmer of blue light.
Flying Thunder God Jutsu.
Reappearing inside his own home, Asahi placed the Uzumaki scroll within a hidden stone vault beneath his floor.
The plan was complete—at least for now.
But the night was far from over.
He activated Sage Mode, his eyes narrowing as he extended his sensory perception throughout the surrounding forests. Somewhere out there, Uzumaki Kushina was giving birth. And if his calculations were correct, Masked Obito would soon make his move.
'If he appears tonight, I can use the chaos as cover.' Asahi thought. 'If not… I'll take the blame myself and leave the village.'
It was a dangerous gamble. But risk was something Asahi had long since learned to embrace.
His Sage perception spread further and further, covering the outskirts of Konoha and then beyond, toward the distant hills where the barrier stood. Yet even with Sage Mode, he couldn't locate Kushina's chakra.
That could only mean one thing—her location was sealed with layered barriers, hidden deep within the forest far from the village.
'So, they took her outside.' he concluded. 'Makes sense. If the Nine-Tails were to go berserk during childbirth, keeping her inside Konoha would be suicide.'
Without hesitation, Asahi formed the hand seals again.
Flying Thunder God Jutsu.
In a flash of blue light, his figure disappeared from the village and reappeared beyond its walls, deep in the mist-shrouded forest.
Raindrops pattered softly on his cloak as he scanned the dark horizon.
The night was silent—too silent.
Then, faintly, he felt it.
A ripple in the air.
A surge of chakra so pure and newborn it cut through the storm like light through glass.
…
Wah! Wah! Wah!
A baby's cry echoed faintly across the rain-drenched woods.
Hearing that, Minato's anxious expression instantly melted into joy.
The child was born.
"Naruto… my son," he whispered in disbelief, his eyes glistening with emotion.
