Since she resigned from the research lab, Feng Suyin's days had no fixed shape. She spent most of them at home with the twins, which she preferred, though a quiet worry about their schooling sat at the back of her mind until she learned the school was on break. It bought her and Ji Yuzhe some time. More than a month since the children arrived, and still nothing on their father. She had assumed Ji Yuzhe's resources would make it quick. Uncle Jia and the private investigator would have an address within a week, two at most, she'd thought. They came back empty each time.
"I don't understand." She frowned, sitting beside her husband's hospital bed. "Is he hiding from his own children? He must know they're looking for him."
Ji Yuzhe sighed and turned his head toward her. His eyes were still covered. They had yet to know whether the surgery had done anything at all. Whether there was anything left to restore.
