***Third POV***
Hinoka's mother hummed gently, her daughters head on her lap as she ran her hand across it.
"Mum?" the girl said her eyes slowly opening.
"Your awake," she said a warm smile on her face.
"Wow your belly's gotten bigger!" the girl exclaimed with a large smile.
"Is it really a baby in there or are you hiding snacks?" she asked with a mischievous grin, "I won't tell anyone if you give me one."
The woman couldn't help laughing, "It's realy is a baby and soon you shall be a big sister to one more girl. Do you want to feel it?"
Hinoka nodded enthusiaticaly as she gently reached over and placed her hand on her mothers stomach.
She lifted her hand a shocked look on her face, "Did you feel that?" her mother asked.
"Yeah!"
"That was your little sister kicking."
She placed her hand on top once more, leaning in, "I promise I'll keep you safe, little sis," the girl whispered.
Her mother smiled.
The girl laid back down placing her head on her mothers lap. She flinched as one of the injuries she'd gained sparing ached.
"My body hurts, dad definetly won," she groaned trying to act as though it didn't hurt as much as it actually did.
"Sometimes I can't help but think your two different people."
The girl stiffened, she rolled to her side looking away from her mother, "If I was two different people, would you love both parts? Would you still love me?" she asked.
"Yes."
Hinoka felt comfort at her mothers quick and stern reply as though mad her daughter would even think she'd stop loving them.
She sighed calming down as she continued, "The two of you act so differently yet so similar, of course I'll love you, after all, both parts are what make you, you. My lovely daughter."
She kissed Hinoka on the head.
The door slightly opened as Hinata poked her head through.
The woman gestured for her to enter and she did, quickly running to her mothers side.
Her mother sat there her three daughters with her as she humed.
***FIRST POV***
The sun had barely begun to rise as I quietly walked down the hall, my heart pounding, I had never snuck out not in this life or the last.
I could hear my heart pouding as someone turned the corner. There was no where to run.
"Hinoka?" mother said as she stared at me surprised, she often had insomnia and would sit outside, that was most likely where she was headed.
Her eyes ran along my body, from top to bottom as she looked at my clothes.
It was obvious was I was trying to do.
She smiled, "Promise me you'll be careful?"
I nodded.
She gestured for me to come closer and I did she leaned in whispering into my ear, before handing me a little money she happened to have on hand.
I stared at her surprised, pushing the money back into her hand.
"I tried to sneak out; I don't deserve the money… or your kindness."
She smiled, "I want you to go explore the village, and to do that you have to try things, which means you need money. I'd be disappointed if you weren't able to enjoy yourself fully. Please, Hinoka."
I hesitated collecting the money from her, a small smile on my face, "Thank you… mum."
She began to tear up for some reason but smiled back, nodding.
I snuck out of the compound using the secret passage Mum had told me about. Even though I had always wanted to explore the village, I was never allowed outside the compound, and to this day, I never had the courage to sneak out.
I stared in amazement as I walked through the village; it was different from Earth, that was for sure, and also from the compound.
It had a less strict vibe to it. I tasted food I wasn't usually allowed to taste and got gifts for Hinata and Mom, making sure to only use one-fourth of the money she had given me.
I had lost track of time and had less than an hour. I ran quickly making my way back to the compound just before my training grabbing my book to look at the tenketsu points one last time before I had spare with father.
Before I knew it I began sneaking out more at least once a week, exploring the village or even different parts of the compound. Mother often snuck me money to try new things.
I still spent countless hours studying I knew they wouldn't stop loving me if I wasn't the best but I couldn't help fear they would.
Another year passed and… and mother died. After her death I barely blacked out anymore.
I locked myself up in my room, for days, I didn't know why but I felt so empty and couldn't stop crying.
Eventually I started slacking and sometimes skipping training when I didn't feel like getting beat up which was what sparring with father felt like now. I buried myself in learning jutsus when I wasn't able to sneak out.
And then at 6, Hinata finally awakened her Byakugan, and father stopped pushing me as much, since he got someone else to train me.
It didn't bother me at first, but then I noticed he was pushing Hinata as hard as he pushed me before. Hinata was weaker than me and had a hard time keeping up with the training.
I finally snapped when I saw Hinata cough out blood, and father didn't seem to care as he continued to attack her.
I stood in front of his door, my hands trembling, I was still afraid of him after all these years. His eyes, they scared me so much, it reminded me of my other father.
"Do you plan on lurking there forever?" I heard his voice ask from behind the door.
I steeled myself entering.
"Father," I began, "I want to talk to you about something."
"What do you want to talk to me about, Hinoka?" Father inquired.
I hesitated before blurting it out, "Do you care about Hinata? If you do why do you treat her like you do?"
Father turned to me taken aback before saying, "I don't have time for this Hinoka. I'm busy."
"What do you mean you don't have time for this?! Where talking about your daughter!" I exclaimed rage building up.
"Mind your tone Hinoka."
"You beat up your daughter! My little sister! Everyday till the point she coughs up blood! And you want me to stay calm?!"
The words that came out of my mouth didn't feel like mine. I agreed with them but I would never have had the courage to say them or to stand up to father like this. It felt as though I was watching it all from afar. Like someone else was in control.
"You may be my daughter but I am still the clan head."
"So! That gives you no right to treat Hinata like that! I don't care if your the clan head or the Hokage I won't let anyone treat–"
"Hinoka!"
I stopped his voice filled with rage, the type he had when I messed up while sparring.
"Leave," he said.
My nails dug into the palm of my hand as I began turning around to leave, but stopped.
Walk away. I told myself picking a fight would only make the situation worse. But my body didn't listen to me.
This wasn't about me it was about Hinata.
"When Uncle Hizashi died you locked yourself in your room for days. Then when mum died you trained me from morning to night it felt like you were taking out your anger out on me…" I turned around finally meeting his gaze again.
It finally felt like my words, "But that doesn't give you a reason to act this way. You're not the only one that miss Uncle Hizashi and mum. How do you think Neji, Hinata and I feel?!"
"Is that all."
Is that all?
That was all he had to say?! I clenched my fist getting even angrier as my vision started to darken.
Before I knew what was happening my fist was heading right towards his face.
The room was silent, the only sound was that of blood as it dripped onto the table.
I looked at the table that was snapped in half, I wanted to hit him so badly but it wouldn't change anything.
My vision returned to normal as I calmed down and stood straight, "No, the reason your making Hinata train day and night instead of me is because I've been skipping training so you decided if I wasn't capable of being the next heiress, you would make Hinata the next heiress."
I suddenly bowed as I said, "Give me another chance. I'll take my training more seriously. I'll become the perfect heiress if that's what you want. In return you'll act like a proper father. You won't train Hinata to the point she coughs out blood, let Hinata and I attend the academy. Leave them out of this. I'll become whatever kind of heiress you want."
Dad paused before saying, "Fine, but you'll be sparring with your cousin Neji most of the time. If that's all go treat your hand. You'll start tomorrow."
I stood up bowing before leaving.
