Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - A Sanctuary for Red and his Team

Third-person POV

After a good 10 minutes of Pokémon battles, the Kanto Elite Four's Pokémon were utterly defeated, and they eventually retreated with their defeated Pokémon for future retaliations. "This isn't over, kid!" Agatha hissed at Ignatius.

"We don't forget this humiliation!" Bruno shrieked as he and his 3 fellow elites fled the area.

Ignatius and his team, however, weren't bothered by it.

"Fine, next time…" he hissed while narrowing his eyes for a bit.

"I'm not safe here, Ignatius-kun…" Red uttered while shivering a bit, "…these guys…they don't forget getting humiliated. They will strike back at any time."

Knowing that Team Rocket won't let this slide easily, Ignatius offered refuge for Red in Salaz. "Let's go to my home region in the south. It will be your sanctuary for the time being."

Red was stunned. "What? Your home region?"

Ignatius then nodded. "Yes, it's called Salaz, and it was a paradise archipelago 9 hours from here by plane. That would be an excellent place to recuperate and recover."

Because he had no choice, Red accepted it.

It was now 10 a.m.

So, they headed south, then east to Kanto Airport, which was located south of Pallet Town while dodging Team Rocket grunts. It wasn't easy, so they used roads off from the main paths that Team Rocket is now setting checkpoints in. Also, in Viridian City, they stopped by a hotel where Ignatius's first set of clothes was. Ignatius picked it up and put them into his backpack, keeping in the Team Plasma grunt clothes as a way to confuse any Team Rocket (and it looks good on him). Now, they used another set of off roads to the airport (which also means bypassing Pallet Town completely). This airport, known as Kanto International Airport, wasn't controlled by Team Rocket because of international laws. It was located on a strip of land called the Pallet Coastal Plains, a huge piece of solid land south of Pallet Town.

In the airport terminal, they secured two seats in a comfortable economy class for 100 Poké Dollars per seat, one way. The plane will be a sleek and fuel-efficient 787 Dreamliner. Ignatius' favorite clothes worked like a charm and managed to slip through security with Red and others. Now, by 12 p.m., they boarded the plane, and it took off at 12:20 p.m., all without Team Rocket noticing that the Kaban kid was smuggling the former Kanto Champion and his team out of the region. On board, they had some Slowpoke Tail curry, some nondescript bacon, and rice for lunch on the flight. The taste of the curry was quite amazing for Red and his team, and his Pikachu even munched on a potato. Ignatius' Snivy was eating a piece of crispy bacon.

Red was asleep on his comfortable blue and green seat to pass the time, while Ignatius was watching some entertainment on Economy class's onboard In-Flight Entertainment System on a screen on the back of a seat on the next row.

Only two-thirds of the seats in this class were occupied, so Ignatius' team occupied some of the surrounding seats freely.

The plane continued on its 9-hour flight south, passing through Unova as well.

By 6 p.m. on the closing afternoon and emerging evening, they landed in Natividad City, the capital city of Salaz. When Red and his team woke up to the captain's announcement for landing, he glanced at the view of Natividad. He was mesmerized by the exquisite view of it. Natividad was a modern city but had Ottoman, Andalusian, and Khmer and Vietnamese building styles for non-skyscrapers, especially ones outside of its financial district. The neighborhoods in Salaz tended to be of Southeast Asian styles. Red was in awe when he saw that Ignatius and his team had feelings of being at home again after weeks in Kanto. Kaban is just 10 kilometers east of the city, and it has flat coastal roads and a commuter train line as well. They will touch down on Natividad's airport, known as the Natividad-Provost International Airport (namesake of Rizal's late grandfather).
