Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Bokuto and Aiko

Hoshi's POV

After I changed into my indoor shoes at the school lockers, I went to my usual class. Upon arriving there, I slide the door open. "Good morning."

It was a mundane greeting, same one every single day in school.

My classmates then looked at me, but I don't react at all since I'm used to this.

They then gave out regular greetings to me in response, before going to back to their own thing.

This doesn't mean I am a loner.

Then, my classmate and only friend, Bokuto Sakata, moved to his usual seat. "Morning, Hoshi-kun."

That greeting is plain, too.

As always, he wears a crimson red facemask because he is shy and reclusive. He always been like that since elementary.

"Morning, Bokuto," I responded, before putting my bag on the desk and settled on my seat next to a window.

I always had that spot since entering this school.

Me and Bokuto are friends since elementary, and we had something in common: being loners.

Later, while our teacher is giving a lecture on Social Studies, I was paying attention to him while taking notes in my blue and yellow, A5-sized, spiral-bound notebook. I then looked at Bokuto, who looked bored at this subject.

Later, lunch came and instead of eating and mingling with other students, me and Bokuto decided to eat our lunch at the school rooftop. There as we eat our bento lunch, we talked about our mundane, everyday lives and stuff related to school, like the time we did a hard homework on Math yesterday. We endured it and had good scores as a result. While I liked that subject, Bokuto hates it.

Bokuto then expressed to me how he boring Social Studies and Math are, adding, "They're so dry and uninteresting, dude."

He then resumed eating his lunch.

"I know it's hard," I responded back, "but you have to study them if you want to pass and graduate."

I liked those subjects, while he hates them.

Bokuto then sighed in annoyance because of that. "Fine, I'll try."

"Just learn the material bit by bit instead of dreading over it, okay?" I suggested.

 "Okay then."

But, he appears to still hate them.

Nearby, the spirit of a high school girl, former student of this school, Aiko Makashima, was hovering near me with a smirk. "He still hates math? I think he still stuck at counting 1-10 or the four basic operations in Math."

"Shut up!" Bokuto hissed at her.

Aiko let out a ghostly, melodic laughter.

I still remember the time I solved her demise caused by her bullies in this school 2 months ago. Some of the half-Japanese kids in this school helped out for us as well. I remembered the sirens of the police when they got what they deserved. They had been expelled after that and by now, they are still in juvie. I was basically a magnet for any spirit in this world.

Haha…
