Ephraim can hear the thoughts of his aide through their mind link.It seems that he was the only one that was hitted with the pleasant scent of the odd girl with a mask when it is not even a masquerade ball.The girl is beautiful with the mask and he is sure she will be more so without it.
What kind of aura is she emitting? Her eyes looks so peculiar,a mixture of the eye colour of a witch and a vampire. [Who even wears a mask to a normal ball? It is something only a bold and a crazy woman can pull off,typical his prince's kind of woman] came the lousy thoughts of his aide followed with a convinced nod from him. He divert his gaze when he felt his prince threatening glare,he just realized he had been thinking out loud in his mind for the Prince to pick up his thoughts through the mind link.
"Damon,you had better take your eyes off her unless you want to go back home blind" Ephraim threatened his aide coldly for him to stop thinking loudly.
Damon immediately took off his eyes from her,putting up a mind defense to block out his thoughts. He shook his head in pity for the poor girl before looking at the humans who are now dancing with their partners.
After Prince Ephraim stopped hearing his aide's thoughts he focused back on her and he saw she is not dancing with a male partner,but she is going towards the dark side of the hall where paintings are instead.
Does she not know not to walk alone in a dark place as a lady? He clenched his fists when he felt his demons awakening just because of seeing the masked girl nearing the dimly lit walls of the hall. Everything in him is screaming to mark her. What is she,a vampire,witch and human? How is it even possible?
He received no answer but what he is sure of is that the odd girl with mixed scent is his mate.And why is she looking at his side,did she feel my gaze on her?
When he could not control himself,he apparated and appeared at the girl's back and he saw her body stiffen in shock when she felt his presence.
He lost control completely because her scent enveloped him as a result of how close she is,his vampire nature came to surface. His cold blue eyes turned to blood red orbs,his fangs elongated,followed by his nails and his dark power went wild.
When she turned towards him,he heard her heart picking up pace and he expect her to run away from him the devil considering his transformation,but she didn't move an inch or show him any form of fear.
He become surprised for her abnormal reaction to his natural form and presence.Vampires fear him,witches don't dare to stay near him because of his dark magic and humans run away from him out of instinct but she just stood there staring at him. He decided to walk closer to her to scare her off but his hands worked against his head,he hugged her instead and it feels nice.
In her embrace,he could feel his body cooling down and his control over his powers coming back to him. He willed his mind and magic to retract and stay put when he felt her leaning on him as if she is comfortable and save in his arms.He then sniffed her neck to imprint her pleasing scent in mind so that he can recognise her another day,when he comes for her.
Ephraim asked her for a dance and for the first time, his heart skipped a beat when his ears picked her innocent voice with which she replied him.He decided right there and then to make her his forever no matter what it will take him even if it will ruin her innocence. She had the time to run from him but she pulled him closer.
When he took her in his arms for the second time, she fits in perfectly and It just looked like she was made for him,to complete him.
During their dance,he halted when he hear her asking for his name.No one has ever asked him of his name,they just seem to know him. "Ephraim Lived" he whispered into her ear.
The song came to an end and he went back to the special appartment,whispered something to the king and then he left the ball room in toll with his aide who looked towards the woman his prince danced with and sighed in relief since she looked okay.
