Episode(2): I think I messed up!
Sovereign of Death~(2)
What happened? Why am I in this ridiculous place all of a sudden?
Nagisa was baffled glancing around the area.
Isekai? No. as if that would happen in real life.
But all roads led to this conclusion.
'No!'
He was flustered but he couldn't just decide on that story book nonsense.
Right, calmly analyze the situation then make a judgement!
There would be enough time to pull out his hair later.
Fuu!
Alright, let's think.
Maybe, and I mean just maybe this is just one huge nonsensical dream. Perhaps all I need to do is ride a pony across a rainbow and I'll wake up?
Then again, looking across at his other classmates suddenly coming to he threw away the idea.
What was the coincidence we'd all have the same dream? Not to mention, current technology isn't nearly advanced enough to cause a collective immersive dream.
Not to mention my status, would the government dare to use me as a guinea pig?
Then, was it really an Isekai situation?
Nagisa ruffled his hair and blinked a few times unfamiliar with such an event.
What to do?
If we follow the usual trope, won't a king or what's his face come give chicken soup for us otherworlders to fight some grand battle?
No, no way I'm being swept up in this hero BS.
Nagisa wasn't cold hearted, if he saw human life threatened before him as long as he had the ability he would make a move.
But, kidnap me and tell me to fight a war?
Nonsense! It's not like I have family I need to protect here in this world.
And based on my shallow knowledge of these plots, more often than none there was no way to go home.
If that was the case, he just honestly wanted to avoid trouble and quietly slip away from this place.
But, before my escape I still need information of this world. It would be too embarrassing if I went out thinking this was a magic fantasy only to see androids walking around outside.
Creak!
The huge door to the throne room entered and several figures in official garment followed respectfully behind a man in royal attire leading the march.
[Introducing the sun of the empire, His majesty Florence V. Synth makes his entrance!]
Kneeling, two men stepped forward and announced with entranced expressions.
The king himself wore a confident smirk, no. Judging by the urge to give that face a punch it was just a cocky grin as if looking down on the world.
Still, the robe and jewelry including the crown. Even the antiques in the family treasury didn't look so majestic.
Indeed, this was a fantasy world.
Nagisa could even feel these items gave of a special energy, it must be magic.
At the same time as the king approached the throne and the several officials went to the side, knights dressed in full armor marched in their battle intent surging.
It was nothing for Nagisa, but for the ordinary students most of them had already lost consciousness or were on their way to being completely out cold.
The king saw this reaction all around and felt that his authority had been displayed.
He spoke-
[Oh travelers from another world, please raise your heads!]
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As if it was practiced beforehand, the guards knocked their spears violently to the ground before standing at attention and finally released the heavy battle intent surrounding the hall.
That should be enough for these heroes to know their place.
The king was truly satisfied with the knights' performance. As he glanced around however, the king's gazed paused on the nonchalant Nagisa.
He squinted.
Even if this one had some level of resistance against mental attacks, that level of battle intent shouldn't have left an ordinary child unaffected.
But then the king thought again, didn't this simply mean the current batch would be just that great?
[I give thee my thanks for heeding my call and coming to our rescue!]
[It is usually customary to take care of accommodations, but forgive me for skipping the pleasantries as we have little time–]
[The world is in dire need of your powers!]
A hand shot up before the king could properly set off the fireworks of emotion.
[W-Wait1]
The king moved his gaze.
At the end of his gaze was a youth sporting a standard handsome schoolboy face. Aikawa Renji.
The most detested human being among the entire first years.
This guy is the main reason I don't even speak to my childhood friend after he labeled me a train molester.
Even though the rumor was eventually cleared up, people still believed Nagisa was a pervert and Renji wouldn't lie.
Especially my childhood friend, Aoi.
[Ah yes, your right hero...your name please?]
Renji nervously gulped and replied.
[A-Aikawa...Aikawa Renji-p-please call me Renji sir]
[Oh, how polite, as expected of a hero!]
Well, the king was at least satisfied he could get to the details immediately rather than later.
[As far as explanations go. Allow me to start from the beginning...]
He began the explanation as if unfolding the story of legends.
According to his words, the world was born out of energy released from the God's, Yada Yada.
The energy was split into positive energy and waste or negative energy.
Positive energy formed intelligent creatures while negative energy formed the monsters without reason or self-control.
Humans enjoyed peace, built settlements which later became nations and the human races continued to live in a prosperous time.
That was until monsters began to attack humans.
Normally unless they were truly enraged, monsters almost never attacked humans without reason.
But things changed, as if driven by a purpose monsters would mindlessly charge into human territory and trample until they were killed themselves.
Humans mastered magic learnt through wielding mana, yet monsters also grew stronger over time.
The battle began to tilt in monsters favor more and more.
The scale was unbalanced and would completely fall if any more weight were added.
Just when it couldn't get any worse, the demon lord appeared overturning the entire board.
The demon lord was vicious, powerful beyond belief and no one was her match.
Anyone who dared to challenge her became another foolish tale in the history of mankind.
As for fighting directly? Impossible.
Humans couldn't even manage to get close with the miasma surrounding the demon planes so what direct battle would there be?
They needed something, someone who could break this stalemate.
The god's answered their desperate plea.
A magic with the power to bring heroes that could stand against the fiend demon king and win the battle for humanity.
[You heroes, are our only hope. Without you humanity is doomed!]
He pleaded desperately.
That should do it right?
He'd always heard that otherworlders were softhearted and couldn't stand people suffering so he made the story as tragic as possible.
It wasn't that he lied, but he definitely over exaggerated here and there.
Wow, such great acting skills. Even I was almost fooled!
Not everybody was as keen as himself, instead the other students were worried about the future.
~Demon king, are you kidding me?
~oi oi, even as a prank this is going too far. He must be on drugs.
Most were anxious, the rest were either excited or curious about the situation.
But, a demon lord really exists huh? I so don't wanna get involved!
I expected it but, seriously. Don't kidnap someone and tell them to play hero so suddenly.
You have to ease into it slowly with benefits!
Whatever, whoever wants it can have it! I want none of it!
At that time, the doors to the throne room opened once more and an enchanting voice echoed in the room.
[The demon king has slaughtered endlessly, and no matter who we sent or how many troops go out. In the end it is all just delivering fodder at the demons lair]
At this rate humanity didn't have long.
[There is only one solution, our hope. Heroes, please take charge of the situation!!]
The figure that appeared beyond the now closing doors attracted everyone.
Lush pink hair, blue jewel like eyes and a slender body with meat in all the right places.
'A literal princess has descended!'
Even Nagisa, confident in his resistance against love was momentarily attracted by the beauty.
Too beautiful indeed!
[W-We will do our best! Uhm-]
None of the male students or teachers had resistance to such a beauty begging for help and they folded instantly.
No one even cared that the detestable Renji had taken the lead as all eyes were glued to this maiden.
[My name is Princess Maria, nice to meet you]
She smiled charmingly and stood at the king's side.
[Okay, now that we have your cooperation, we now need to figure out what talents you heroes have awakened]
Talents? Was there such a setting now?
Maria smiled and took over from her father.
[To view your abilities, please Chant status in your minds]
Ohh! Even the great status was a thing here?
Even Nagisa felt excited as he thought about it.
'Status'
[Kanata Nagisa–(Lv.1) ]
[Class– Necromancer]
[Trait – Dead Rise (SSS), Master (EX)]
[Mana–100/100]
[Perception(B+)] [Swordplay(S)] [Martial Arts(A+)] [Kanata Footwork(S-)] [Body Control(A)] [Oneness(D)]
Nagisa gave it a quick glance.
Most of these are the skills I trained pre-summoning. And with the ranks being divided by letters I can't tell, is this high or low?
'It'd be better if it was numerical value rather than alphabetical'
But assuming it went from F- to ascending (S) then (S) would most likely be the highest level.
If that was truly the case then aren't the current level of my skills broken? Hehe, who would complain about being stronger? Not me!
Aside from skills there was also MP which he judged should allow him to use magic.
But, aside from Necromancy he didn't really have any magic related abilities.
'Necromancy huh...'
It sounds pretty ominous, even in comics on earth necromancy isn't seeing too highly.
I should probably keep my lips sealed about this.
Fortunately the only one who can see my stats is me alone!
Next, there were two unique traits. I'm guessing a trait is like a unique skill or something?
'EX' rank wasn't detailed but Nagisa felt as if it must be high. As for SSS rank, what needed to be said?
Looking around, other kids either gathered to discuss their stats or silently stuck by themselves while analyzing things.
The 13 teachers were gathered pointing at the air and discussing while looking at the king.
They must be suspicious. Good, they have brains.
At this time, Renji silently scratched his chin and hid a grin as if he had won the lottery and couldn't wait to show off.
It was then that the princess stepped forward.
[Now then, please tell us your classes and we'll start from Sir Renji]
Standing the closest to that face, Renji had to admit it was too beautiful and blushed like an idiot seeing his first love.
[Y-Yes, I have a class called 'hero']
[Ooo!]
This is amazing! The king shot to his feet and gave an applause.
[T-The hero, is it? That's the legendary class! How splendid]
Well, it just had to be this bastard didn't it?
Nagisa sighed and shook his head.
[And you, you are the last. Would you please tell us your class?]
It was finally his turn.
This princess, seriously that face is too stunning.
[Ehem... My class is a little strange but, I guess you won't mind...I'm a, chef]
Would this work?
The princess seemed a little baffled and was stunned unable to say a word.
A hero having a culinary occupation?
Just what joke was this?
Even the students started laughing even though the teachers tried to stop them.
Well, laugh. It's better than saying my true class and being labeled as a demon.
Enemy of humanity route, avoided!
Hm-
Maria thought before finally speaking.
[That is certainly worrying, a hero normally has a combat or support class. Could you just have been caught up in the spell?]
A misunderstanding? Wait, I can use this!
[T-That's right! Poor me, I was just walking past the building when a light came out of nowhere and poof! Here I am in a world facing danger being told to fight for my survival! How pitiful!]
Tears fell, Nagisa gave an award worthy act as if life itself had become unbearable.
[AAAAHHHHH!! How will I live!?]
But he seemed to have done a little too well with his acting.
~no wonder, he looks so weak
~But to think we summoned an incompetent trash! Serve him to the swine!
These bastards! I have two perfectly working ears you know? Well, let's let it go for the sake of the situation.
[O-Oh that's sad to hear...what are we going to do really, father?]
Maria glanced at the king for instructions unable to make a decision.
The king looked down with contempt as if he was glaring at trash.
[Naturally we can't keep trash, no choice. Tch, to think I had my court mages waste magic on this trash who can't even use combat skills...Guards!]
Wait-
Just one moment! The script! Did you guys even read the script or did you just toss it aside?
'.....I think-I think I messed up'
