Chapter 9
Nighttime rolled by and Arthur sat on the throne, with Galion and his soldiers in front of him in a kneeling position at the foot of said throne. He listened to a retelling of the report that was made during the day.
After some time, of processing and thinking he spoke, "Ok, for now, let's not approach, as I said before, secure the area around the settlement."
"Yes Sire," spoke the earth drake. Then the king switched his gaze to the earth wyrm, Holran.
"I want you to dig underground tunnels for us, under and around the settlement, we'll use them should the need arise,"
"It shall be done Sire," spoke Holran.
"Good, Galion keep creeping close and closer, keep their attention on you and the soldiers assigned to you, make sure they are distracted,"
"Yes master," spoke the Earth Drake,
"Good, now go rest, we'll start tomorrow," spoke Arthur, the dragon left and Arthur was alone in the room. With a sigh, he leaned back and started thinking of a way to weaken the forces in the settlement, he didn't expect attacking the settlement to be easy and he was sure the would be more than 1 elite unit considering the range of forces present in the forest.
He started thinking of his options while opening the panel, he opened the market and moved to the auction rooms. He checked to see what was on there. There were quite a few, interesting things being sold, mainly blueprints and materials. He was looking for something interesting.
"Damn nothing," he muttered after finding nothing that could help him at this point. Many would be useful in the future, but for now, he needed to focus on the current state of his kingdom.
He moved out and moved to the normal markets, and found quite a few people selling food, and items that were of no use to them. He also placed excess foods here for sale. They were flying off the shelves.
'Business is steady, but soon this will start providing less and less. I should think of a way to expand.' He thought of what to sell next.
He looked at his warehouse and found that he possessed an abundance of weapons. "Ow yeah, to increase their skill level the forgers continue to craft more and more weapons, I could sell these," he said to himself.
"I guess iron ore from the mountains is coming in handy," he took out a few weapons from the warehouse. This consisted of, 10 swords, 5 shields, and 5 spears. The production speed was still low so this was the best he could take out without hindering his future growth.
After some time he put that on the market.
[Iron sword 1,000 gold (10 available)]
[Iron shield 1,500 gold (5 available)]
[Iron spear 2,000 gold (5 available)]
When this was uploaded it sent shockwaves across the forum.
[FORUM]
- Holy! Hell The dude can produce weapons!
- Well shit this is a surprise.
- I can't believe this, how can someone be this ahead of the rest of us, I mean I'm still using stone and copper weapons, and here is this man, selling iron weapons.
- Yeah, tell me about it. This is just unfair; his units must be busted as hell.
- It could be that he is in a place with an abundance of resources, add that to mid-tier or high-tier units and the speed of growth is understandable.
- But that doesn't stop it from being unfair.
- Yeah well that's only for now, I mean if he's near Naga's and Treants judging from the types of food he sells we can assume that when the barriers fall and the beast tide rolls in they are going to be in trouble.
- Yeah, and strong units tend to have slow growth and little numbers, meaning they are vulnerable to wave tactics both in the beginning and much of the mid-game. Another thing is food consumption, the units must be very gluttonous, making them vulnerable to starvation tactics.
- Yeah, I guess that could balance out the incredible strength.
- Did you just give over a billion people methods to take out the stronger units?
- I mean it's not like these were all that solid as tactics, the market exists and most of us are working to be self-sustainable so unless some idiot isn't focusing on that or you're genuinely positioned in a place where growing food is impossible, these tactics are not all that viable.
- Yeah, forget that I want me them weapons!
…
After reading through the first few reactions Arthur moved on, trying to find a way to counter the methods provided by that smart-dumb ass.
'Bigger warehouses with longer preservation time, have units that can take out waves of weaker units with single attacks. Keep the number of units I have to a manageable one. Go for quality over quantity and be self-sustainable. Guess I'll have to conquer those that settlement quickly and have them start farming for me, I mean the elven farmers are doing ok but I need higher production.'
These were the rough countermeasures, then he moved to the system market looking for things to help with his plans.

After a few minutes, the weapons were sold out, along with the food. Arthur checked the amount of gold he possessed. "945,500 gold in total huh?"
"Let's but the blessed fields, and holy springs," he said to himself. These were complete production structures, for 50,000 gold he could purchase 10 hectors of blessed fields, and 20,000 gold for 100,000 square meters of holy springs. Arthur made the purchases.
"I'll place these over the farms tomorrow before going to the ocean to level up with Morgan tomorrow,"
.oOO. Far off Region .oOo.
A man was seated on a throne and watched the conversation taking place in the forum with a frown on his face. "Those fools, don't they know that they are making that seller bastard more powerful? I mean come on, just running the calculations it's clear that the guy is making more than 100K a day! With that amount of gold he could splurge and boost his defences and structures! He'll continue to pull ahead of us all if this continues." Spoke the man to himself in frustration.
"But I doubt the is much I can do at this point where people are scrambling for resources, weapons, and food. However, I can't just let them grow! It'll be more dangerous in the future," thought the man his frustrations mounting.
He sighed and looked up to the ceiling of his castle, "Guess I'll have to make sure to strengthen my own units." He said in resignation while looking at the golden lions sleeping at the foot of his throne.
"Lion's huh? I hope I can stand up to him when we met in the future,"
