Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - The Imitations of Human Life

Third-person POV

A month after the 3-year reconstruction era, the imitations of human life by the death creatures became evident in their lives living the human lives. The beauty of laughing at whatever joke or anything funny (memes, funny shows, cultural jokes, etc.) at work, home, or in public spaces gave life to various societies. The ones of sadness were of grieving for the deceased on other times, as well as while watching anything sad through the restored media on TV and social media. Anger was a dramatic fact of human life. When one purposedly made a little mistake at work (any sector), gets "fired" by their supervisor or boss. That was not literal; they only transferred to another desk or spot in the factory line and that was recorded as "transfer shifts". Being disgusted came from discovering how humans were disgusted by anything that were perceived as disturbing or gross. One death creature might like spiders, while others were disgusted and fearful, especially the ones in Australia.

They are immortal and can regenerate themselves. They required little sustenance and sleep, though some honored the normal human life routines by sleeping 7-8 hours a day and eat 3 full meals (plus snacks if they want) a day. Their eternal physical bodies as creatures of the Abyss burned ingested foods and fluids like an optional fuel, though some imitated obese people by shapeshifting as fat people at other times. Plus, they don't get drunk when drinking lots of alcohol. When they do as an imitation, they are softer and non-violent on that.

It wasn't the only human emotions they imitated in their eternal lives. Marriages were evident across all societies and cultures, using all religious and cultural rites. For funerals, one might shapeshift as an old person or severely sick person. In the coffins, they would go to another person, couple, or group either as babies or young children as the coffins were burned (better than burying them and waste land space). They are flexible and resilient at shapeshifting as various humans of different ages. They can log out from work as "paid leaves" and do their roles in different ages under different identities, before returning to their roles and jobs as original individuals as if it was a short hobby or trip.

These are voluntary rather than mandatory.

Ceo declined the offers and continued his dual life as a civilian servant at the Valencia city hall in Spain and as a fireman-servant in Francisco's estate.

Kai, meanwhile, does this during certain days off from the automobile factory.

Overall, those who work jobs or volunteer had nice wages every week or month, using new and restored currencies or with essential commodities. There was no competition on who will earn the most; it was pointless and not their type absolutely; they earned their money for themselves and the deceased who were no longer with them.
