The morning, I woke up for my first day at MUSON, my heart was filled with excitement, but I couldn't hide my nervousness. I had chosen music as my future, and now the journey was truly beginning.
When I arrived at MUSON, everything felt different. I looked around with curiosity, wondering what my new life as a music student would be like. Even though I was excited, I couldn't stop asking myself, "Am I really ready for this?"
As a Basic School student, my classes were simple but very important. I had only one teacher, and our lessons were one-on-one.
His name was Goodness Peters.
From the very first lesson, he showed me that music was much more than playing the piano. We studied Theory of Music and Practical. At first, theory seemed confusing. There were notes, rhythms, scales, and many musical terms I had never fully understood before.
But instead of giving up, I became more determined to learn.
Every practical lesson taught me patience. Every theory lesson challenged my mind. Slowly, I began to realize that becoming a musician required more than talent—it required discipline, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning every single day.
On my first day, I didn't make any friends. It was just my teacher and me. Even though I was alone, I wasn't discouraged. Deep inside, I knew I had made the right decision by choosing music.
Looking back now, I realize those quiet one-on-one lessons became the foundation of everything I would learn in the years ahead.
