Time passed.
Klein and Z'oelo began to take inspiration from each other.
One became more physical and violent while the other became more technical and orchestrated.
With a bestial form, Klein attacks with inner manipulated mofei in the form of elemental claws.
With a mastery over ki, Z'oelo can attack using the energy in the form of ki blades and the like.
Their training had shifted their views and with their subtle rivalry, the two were shedding their cocoons and elevating to the Immortal status.
Typically, when one was able to fly, they were considered Immortal as they surpassed the mortal standard.
However, some beings were able to fly naturally and some could fly with their unique abilities.
Flying was not a form of measurement for those who had those, rather it was a level of power that separated them from Immortality.
Klein was most adept with his air manipulation that he used to fly, so he could do so before his other manipulations matched his air manipulation.
It took him a long time to develop each manipulation and with each improvement, he found out that changes in his body continued.
The organs that corresponded to each element like his air mofei and lungs were bolstered and even gave him some more abilities.
Putting aside the air infused lungs that gave him speed and quick force, his other organs reached a new level of fusion.
His fire infused heart now beat with the force of an explosion and gave him the energy to act wildly.
His water infused kidneys purified his blood and gave him the clarity to act fluidly.
His earth infused liver solidified his body and gave him the sturdiness to defend effectively.
Additionally, he had given proper time to fuse the mind mofei with his brain which worked to dictate every action he made and gave him the ability to process at frightening speeds.
He had not yet managed to fuse any advance mofei into his organs, but he could still manipulate them as they were.
Instead of using air to cool down water into a rigid ice, he manipulated the element to spur a change in its structure that left the molecules vibrating together as light blue ice mofei.
Instead of using fire to melt earth into molten lava, he manipulated the element to move fluidly and fast so that it left the molecules superheated as bright orange lava mofei.
Instead of using earth to statically charge air into crackling lightning, he manipulated the element to polarize between molecules which sparked into vibrant yellow lightning mofei.
Needless to say, he found it possible to manipulate on a finer level in order to change the properties of the basic elements.
He was one step closer to manipulation on a microscopic level.
But for now, he did not mind the accomplishment as he felt his bestial urges surface.
The deeper the connection went, the more he experienced a change starting at the tips of his fingers— specifically his fingernails.
In accordance with each of the elements, each of his fingernails shone with a colorful light.
His eyes noticed his high reserves of mofei moving from his core to his claw-like nails and forge them into dangerous mofei-infused weapons.
He clawed and the elements heeded the call to action!
His organs burst with power that enhanced every aspect of his being!
Air, fire, water, earth, nature, light, darkness, and mind each shone their colors on every one of his fingernails except for the middle ones.
Klein could only take notice as he immersed himself in the feeling of a shackle being removed from his body.
As for Z'oelo, he was using his control over ki to disseminate blades and bullets.
His current usage of ki was like none other as he had so much under his command that he could more than double his damage output easily.
Additionally, he had received a response from the ancient earrings despite it's spirit being dormant.
The boon he received was none other than a greater reserve of ki, so instead of wielding Muni's physical form up close, he could send the ki slashes and ki bullets at his opponents.
On top of that, he was already gifted with muscles thanks to his race, so he could also use the ki to reinforce his body and fight like that.
Muni had lacked a proper body to do much of anything outside of supporting her physical form with ki and performing attacks with both sides.
She had all of Z'oelo's memories which included his father's lessons on how to properly wield a blade, so she was more than capable of supplementing attacks.
Battles became experiments and tactics became research while Z'oelo changed his fighting style.
He could even float on platforms made of ki and step on them to "fly" and perform maneuvers that surpassed ground-level attacks.
The better he was at using his ki, the more he felt a connection to the ancient earrings on his ears.
Instead of simply boosting his reserves, they were doing something entirely new.
The connection penetrated enough that an ancient aura washed over Z'oelo, awakening the slumbering spirit!
Unfortunately, the spirit did not remain awake for long as it only peeked into existence.
Although the time was brief, it managed to scan through his being and deliver one single message, "Bloodthirst."
It was not anything remotely what he could expect, but it awoke something in Z'oelo instead.
Ki was supposed to be something gentle and energetic, but under his new, bloodthirsty mentality it turned violent and destructive.
Additionally, it was originally colorless, but the ki became slightly crimson like fresh blood under his mentality.
He could not understand why the word triggered a change in his entire being, but it felt right.
The key change was the sharpness of his mind alongside the changes to his ki.
Instead of a mindless rage, the bloodthirst that came from the ancient earring was focused annihilation.
That was the final push he needed to enter a new state of being.
Klein and Z'oelo were Immortal.
