The next morning, Edward opened his eyes to a piercing, rhythmic headache.
He hadn't drunk much the previous night, and his alcohol tolerance was exceptionally high. There was no logical reason for him to have suffered a complete blackout.
As his vision cleared, he looked at the woman lying beside him, and the pieces immediately fell into place.
'So, this woman actually dared to have me drugged,' he thought, his chest tightening with cold fury. 'And she has marks all over her body... trying to make them look like love marks? Nothing happened between us. Where on earth did she get those?'
Controlling his breathing, Edward decided to keep his eyes closed and pretend he was still asleep. He wanted to see exactly how she would react.
