Chapter 939 - Chapter 939: Small scale disaster

Tsunade walked over, carrying the bloodied Lorelei, and handed her over to Charles Doyle.

Charles immediately took out an empty Matryoshka doll and sealed Lorelei inside it.

As soon as Lorelei was sealed, the image of Lorelei herself appeared on the surface of the doll.

Jiraiya then apologized to Sif, saying, "Sorry, I was a bit too rough."

After speaking, Jiraiya approached and began using his Healing Palm technique to help Sif recover from her injuries.

Charles glanced at the damaged furniture and decorations in the office.

The magic circle he had set up was mainly for protecting against external attacks, and there had been no defensive setup for the interior.

"Restore to the original state!"

With a wave of his hand, Charles released chakra through the Dragon Ring, casting a spell. The next moment, the damaged office was restored to its pristine condition, as if nothing had been broken.

Seeing this, Coulson and Sif couldn't help but be astonished by Charles Doyle's power. Not only could he heal, but he also had the ability to restore a battlefield, far beyond what they had expected.

After Jiraiya and Obito had briefly treated Sif and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, they all knelt on one knee before Charles, "Lord Charles, we have made a mistake. Please punish us."

Meanwhile, Michael had a sorrowful expression on his face, murmuring, "Selene..."

Obito spoke up, saying, "Selene is not dead. She has already left. She must have returned to the base to report."

Upon hearing Obito's words, Michael's expression shifted, no longer as sorrowful as before, but he still knew that he had done something unforgivable.

Michael also knelt before Charles, lowering his head and saying, "Please punish me, Lord Charles."

Charles looked at the three of them and spoke, "The fault does not lie with you."

"Rise."

Charles knew that the person responsible for this disturbance had already been sealed inside the Matryoshka doll. Lorelei was the true culprit, and his people had only been charmed and controlled by her.

Moreover, Charles had already observed that his side had suffered no actual losses.

The servants and guards in the agency had only been knocked out by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s nerve toxin bullets, with no threat to their lives.

On the other hand, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had been killed by the werewolf guards, leaving only Coulson, May, and Ward.

At this point, Sif, having recovered somewhat, approached. Her skin, which had not been covered by her armor, was red and clearly still healing from the burns.

Sif stood before Charles and respectfully said:

"Supreme Merlin, you have once again averted a disaster that could have shaken the Nine Realms."

Coulson, standing nearby, smiled and added, "Yes, you've once again saved Earth."

Coulson knew all too well the terrible consequences that Lorelei could have caused on Earth.

Charles nodded, "She made me her target. She's not worth pitying."

Sif hesitated for a moment but then spoke up, saying, "Respectful Supreme Merlin, Lorelei is a target that King Odin tasked me with capturing. I wonder if I could take her back to Asgard to report to him?"

Upon hearing Sif's words, Coulson and the others quietly observed, waiting to see how Charles Doyle would handle Lorelei.

Charles turned to Sif and said, "Sif, Lorelei will now atone for her actions, sealed within this Matryoshka doll."

"Sorry, but you won't be able to take her back to Asgard."

Hearing Charles's refusal, Sif seemed unsure of what to do. She had come to carry out Odin's command, and she couldn't return empty-handed.

She spoke again, "You are a noble guest of Asgard, but this is a command from King Odin. I wonder if you could show some leniency?"

Hearing Sif mention Odin again, Charles thought for a moment. Since Queen Frigga was still alive, it was highly likely that Odin in Asgard was the real Odin, with a small chance that Loki might be impersonating him.

After a pause, Charles said, "Sif, go back and report to the king that Lorelei has been sealed and imprisoned by me."

"In the years to come, there will be no opportunity for her to cause trouble again."

"I believe Odin will not make things difficult for you."

Charles knew that Odin would not be concerned about where Lorelei was imprisoned, as long as she was no longer a threat. And if it were Loki impersonating Odin, Charles wouldn't care about his feelings at all.

Sif hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Charles, unlike others, was a noble guest of Asgard, and he had saved Queen Frigga and dealt with the Dark Elves. Given all this, Odin would likely approve the request.

"I will report the situation here to the king, and I hope this mission won't result in any punishment."

Charles smiled and said, "The wise king will surely not blame you for this matter."

Seeing that there was no conflict as expected, Coulson felt a bit disappointed but was also curious as to why Sif referred to Charles as a noble guest of Asgard.

Was it because of his inherent noble status, or had he done something for Asgard to earn such a title?

At the same time, Coulson was puzzled as to why Sif kept addressing Charles as "Supreme Merlin" rather than "Ninja Immortal."

Sif then spoke, "Now that Lorelei's matter is resolved, I will return to the heavenly palace to report."

Charles nodded, "Please convey my regards to the king. The task he entrusted to me is already in progress."

"Yes, I will deliver your words."

Sif didn't ask for any further details about the task and simply agreed.

Coulson and the others, however, were extremely curious about what kind of task Asgard's king had entrusted to Charles.

At this point, Coulson spoke, "We are very grateful for your timely support. Otherwise, the three of us might have been in mortal danger."

"Thank you for saving our lives."

Seeing Coulson extend his hand, Charles smiled and shook it, then replied, "You're too polite. Your timely notification was also crucial. Otherwise, if we had discovered it ourselves, things could have escalated even further."

"This disaster was kept to a very small scale, wasn't it?"

Coulson smiled wryly and nodded, feeling a bit helpless. It had truly been a small-scale disaster, limited to just the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Except for the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, no one else was harmed. Even the most damaged part of the agency had been restored to its original state by Charles's magic.

Coulson looked at the fallen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and said, "We still need to arrange for our personnel, so we won't bother you any longer."

Charles nodded, "Take care."

Coulson didn't say much more and, with May and Ward, began collecting the bodies of the fallen agents to take them away from the agency.

For Coulson, this mission had been a difficult one, and aside from gaining some limited intelligence, S.H.I.E.L.D. had once again suffered significant losses.
