"No, Mr. Fu came alone," the manager said.
Since Fu Yinxiu had come alone and Alpha Guard 1 stayed outside, the manager figured he wasn't really lying.
"The main thing is, Mr. Fu keeps muttering your name. We found your business card on him, so we called you. Otherwise, we wouldn't have known whom to contact," the manager explained helplessly.
"Alright, I'll come over," Ming Yutong agreed.
After hanging up, she quickly changed into clothes suitable for going out, gathered her long hair into a ponytail, and left with her keys and wallet.
The manager finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Young Master Nan, Miss Ming said she's coming over."
"Well done," Nan Jingheng said, patting his shoulder. "Now, leave the rest to you. I can't let Ming Yutong see me here."
Nan Jingheng stayed behind and went to the back office.
How could he miss such an interesting development?
Ming Yutong entered the bar, carrying the chill of the late night with her.
Even with her hair tied in a ponytail, the night wind had left it disheveled.
Without makeup, her face was pale and clean, making her look like a naive student rather than the sharp, capable general manager of Mingri Group.
Wrapped in a wool coat, she exuded a cool, clean aura that starkly contrasted with the glamorous, seductive women inside the bar.
This unusual presence made her even more noticeable.
Several people in the bar took notice of her and started to approach.
The bar's security quickly surrounded Ming Yutong. The team leader said, "Miss Ming, please come this way."
The bodyguards shielded her, keeping her separated from the crowd and discouraging anyone from approaching.
Ming Yutong followed the bodyguards to the back room. The door was closed.
The team leader called the manager, who then cautiously opened the door to ensure Fu Yinxiu's privacy and safety.
As the door opened, Ming Yutong saw Fu Yinxiu inside, almost unconscious from drunkenness.
How much had he drunk?
Ming Yutong stared at him but didn't approach right away.
Every time she decided not to get involved with him, circumstances seemed to pull them together.
"Miss Ming?" The manager called her from the side.
Ming Yutong snapped out of her thoughts and walked over to Fu Yinxiu.
She shook his shoulder, calling, "Fu Yinxiu."
Fu Yinxiu's eyes, which had been closed, finally opened slightly, and he saw Ming Yutong through a narrow slit.
He was truly bewildered. Drunk and asleep, even his dreams seemed to be haunted by this woman.
He waved his hand, trying to chase her image away from his dreams.
Ming Yutong took a step back, only to have Fu Yinxiu push her when he saw her opening her eyes. Then, he closed his eyes again and turned away, ignoring her.
What on earth was he doing?
Ming Yutong bit her lip and walked back towards Fu Yinxiu. She addressed the manager, "Help me lift him up."
"Okay," the manager said, moving to help Ming Yutong.
However, Ming Yutong suddenly froze. She noticed a red mark on Fu Yinxiu's earlobe. When she wiped it away, the red stain transferred to her fingertip.
Ming Yutong lowered her head, bringing her fingertip close to her nose. It smelled like lipstick.
Squinting, she also noticed a long strand of hair on Fu Yinxiu's collar. But this strand of hair wasn't hers. Her hair was black and uncolored, while the strand on Fu Yinxiu's collar was a light gray.
Ming Yutong's expression darkened. Without a word, she let go, causing Fu Yinxiu to slump back down.
The manager was stunned.
What had been fine just a moment ago?
How did things suddenly turn sour?
The manager, unable to handle Fu Yinxiu alone, had no choice but to release him.
Ming Yutong looked at Fu Yinxiu, who was now heavily drunk, and sneered.
He really listened to her.
She told him to find someone else, and he indeed came to the bar to flirt. It's no wonder he's drunk—he must have been having a great time!
Images of Fu Yinxiu with others in this room flashed in Ming Yutong's mind. Without saying another word, she turned to leave.
The manager, bewildered, hurried after her. "Miss Ming, where are you going?"
"If you can't do anything, just let him stay here," Ming Yutong said coldly. "With his connection to Nan Jingheng, he should be able to get a room here."
The manager was speechless.
This wasn't what was agreed upon!
Ming Yutong was already at the door. The manager desperately tried to think of a way to make her stay.
Suddenly, Ming Yutong stopped.
The manager sighed in relief and smiled. "Miss Ming—"
Ignoring him, Ming Yutong walked back to Fu Yinxiu.
Fu Yinxiu, dazed and drunk on the sofa, looked nothing like his usual composed self. Seeing him like this was rare, but Ming Yutong had no interest in admiring him. She grabbed his arm and pulled him off the sofa.
The manager gasped, "Miss Ming!"
What was she planning to do?
Seeing Ming Yutong's fierce expression was quite intimidating.
The manager was genuinely frightened.
Fu Yinxiu, in his semi-conscious state, was unable to stand and collapsed onto the floor.
