Sean tosses the ball high, smashing it over the net. Emelio diving to bring it up as it bounces on the court. Sean pumping his fist into the air.
"Take that!"
Team Kurai 23-21 Team Sean.
Kurai smirks.
"Nice Serve, Sean!" Sean grins as he catches another ball. The whistle blows as he tosses it, running forward and serving it over the net.
Emelio's eyes widen, glowing as he steps back slightly. Watching the high trajectory ball come towards him with a smirk. Lifting his arm, swinging his arm and spiking it back over the net. Kyle jumps to receive, but misses.
"Sorry!"
"Don't worry about it"
Emelio smiles brightly, pumping his fist.
"Yes!"
Team Kurai: Match point 24-21 Team Sean.
Jaden tosses the ball. Plowing it over the net as Kyle brings it up. 'What a consistent serve this guy has…!' Daniel jumps at the net, setting it to Sean. Sean smashes the ball past Kurai and Emelio. Jaden brought it up casually. Kurai turning and jumping to set. Emelio jumping at the same spot he just was as soon as he touches the ground. Kurai sets the ball as Sean and Daniel rush to block. Jaden suddenly appeared smashing the ball onto the court. Two whistles blowing. Coach Copley clapped as they all landed.
"Good game, you guys… I've got a good grasp on our rookies' play styles…" Sean takes some deep breaths as Kurai smirks. Copley turning around. "With that, let's end today with a strategy session on how we should face Poland" Emelio jumps on Sean's back.
"You're a really strong spiker!" Sean gasps.
"Get off my back dude-" Emelio lands, stepping back.
"Oh… sorry" Sean pauses.
"Sorry? I was just telling ya to calm down so you don't injure yourself" Emelio freezes.
"Oh- right…"
Copley stands on his raised podium, the screen flickering on behind him.
"Let's start with our starting lineup… our lineup will consist of Max, Kurai, and Emelio in front of the net… and Jaden, Kyle, and Sean at the back with Sean acting as our starting server" Sean nods as Emelio smiles brightly. Copley continues. "Following that, our two biggest threats are their all rounded offense and defense. Their Spear and Shield style of play… and their two star players… Brine Sanders and Lucas Baker"
"Starting with Brine Sanders… he's a giant who stands at 6 foot 6 and has power at the net and in the air on par with Russia's Kaneko Vlast… able to spike at sharp angles as well as carving through blocks like butter… We'll be dedicating a shift block to him with Kurai as a center to the block. When available, Jaden, Max, or Emelio can work with Kurai to shut down their main cannon with our strongest wall." Emelio nods, fist bumping Max. Copley continues.
"Over the next few practices, we'll focus on our defensive wall, working on building up the wall of Kurai, Jaden, Max or Emelio in different scenario's… got it?" everyone nods.
"Yes sir!" Kurai nods as Copley grins.
"Our other concern is the Team's Captain, Lucas Baker. He's a veteran who's been on the team for 3 years now and has reached his position within that time, analysts debate wildly over whether or not he's a sub-Monster Gen level threat in his own right… This guy is a versatile monster, with multiple types of serves under his belt, a mastery in misdirection, setting, blocking, and acts as a fallback Opposite for his team. He also acts as the play maker behind the scenes, as well as being their moral tower" everyone goes silent as Copley glances at Kurai.
"Kurai, when it comes to blocking Brine Sanders… let the others drag you where they need you. I want you to focus on facing and tearing down their control center, Lucas Baker. Can you do that?" Kurai nods.
