ALEC
Someone remind me to never, ever, listen to Nathan again. Not only did he cause a ruckus, he also embarrassed me in front of Sofie and now I'm not allowed to talk to her. Curb him for that, but can't really yell at a person who's helping you out eh? Anyways, after Nat dragged me away, I went to prepare for tomorrow. Tomorrow was my big day.
The first step was to get Carrie in on my plan. Partially because I needed the help and mostly because she'd kill me if I didn't. I called her almost hoping she wouldn't pick up. Unfortunately, she did. "HEY HUSTON JUNIOR." Carrie said, way louder than necessary like she always does. "Hello to you too Carrie. Loud as always I see." I mocked. "Hey I'm not that one that called you know? I will hang up on you." Carrie threatened. "No no no don't." I gushed. "I have something important to tell you. Well, ask your help for." Carrie put something down on the other end of the phone. I could tell because of the loud noises she was making. "Mhm I'm listening." Carrie said, as something else lost it's footing I'm assuming. "Are you breaking your house apart? Why is it so noisy over there?" I yelled over the phone, doubtful she could even hear me over all that ruckus. "Something like that. Just say what you're going to say already." It finally got quiet. "I don't know how to say this-" I couldn't even finish my sentence when Carrie spoke out. "You have approximately 30 seconds to pique my interest. I have a manicure scheduled." I panicked and blurted out the dreaded words. "I'm going to ask Sofie to prom." I heard another glass bowl smash. "HOLY MOLY WHAT?" Carrie was trying to impair my hearing before I could even ask her best friend out. "Yes Carrie. I'm asking Sof to prom. Do you want to help or no?" I sighed. "OF COURSE I DO. WHAT'S THE BIG PLAN?" Carrie yelled. "Can you stop yelling in my ear? I'm sending you a brief of the plan. Look through it." I sent the file to her. Yes, the guys made a whole file. Sometimes, I don't know if I love how much they over do it or hate how much they over do it. I get a notification that [email protected] opened my file. Of course Carrie had such a mailing address. After about 2 minutes, Carrie finally spoke up, "Not half bad Jr. Pretty damn good actually." Her voice sounded calm for the first time in this whole call. I guess even princess ice cake can get serious when she needs to. "Mind I make a small suggestion?" "Shoot it at me." I replied. I needed all the help I could get. Carrie was Sof's best friend. Not better than me of course, but there's some things that you just can't share with a guy best friend and be fully satisfied with. "Keep the details but move it to my family park. Sofie absolutely loves that place. Besides there's Cherry Blossoms now. It looks a lot more beautiful than our school yard." Damn she's a genius. "I can do that. But I already called her to the school yard." I interjected. I didn't want to sound ungrateful for the offer but I did make a promise to meet her. "Just have that backwards boy leave a message." She suggested. "Hmm. Sounds like a plan. Alright thanks for helping. I'll hang up now." "You're welcome. DO NOT FORGET TO GET HER FLOWERS." There's Carrie back. Before I could say anything, Carrie hung up on me. Rude.
I texted the 'Buddy Boy's Prom Wingmen' gc and told them the improv. They all agreed. Although, Nathan nagged like a 6 year old at first. Sometimes I wonder if I'm his friend or his babysitter. I still love him to death though. That man is going to give a best man's speech at my wedding. Even if it means getting myself utterly humiliated. I go over the plan again and start preparing accordingly. Please God, let this be perfect for Sofie.
