Chapter 121 - CH.117 The Eyes of Helios

Henu. His past goes far back.

Tasked with a responsibility he could not fulfill, he carries the weight of his heritage upon his shoulders. But sometimes life has different plans. You may see one thing ahead, yet another may happen instead.

Then we begin to hate life.

But isn't that what life is about?

If every day were the same, if every road led exactly where we expected, would it even be called life?

Just as Henu's past tells the story of his struggles, look back at your own. What things happened that you overcame? Did you ever think you could?

Humans grow.

Humans write.

Humans sing.

Humans move.

Humans explore.

Humans enjoy.

Humans cry.

Humans laugh.

Humans live.

Human, human, and more humans.

You too are human.

No matter your imperfections, no human is ever perfect, because perfection does not exist.

If no one hears a tree fall, does it mean the tree never fell?

Some questions have no answers. Some journeys have no maps. Some struggles leave no witnesses.

Yet they still happened.

So live long, and go beyond. HUMAN!

The Eyes of Helios

Here's the same text with only spacing adjusted.

The sky stretched endlessly above them, a deep, radiant blue that mirrored the ocean itself. Soft clouds drifted across it, bright and weightless, like fragments of something untouched. A cool breeze moved gently through the air, carrying with it a quiet calm that made the land feel almost like heaven.

And yet, life moved within it.

A boy's hand gripped the rock.

Henu climbed.

His fingers dug into the rough surface as he pulled himself higher, his body moving with instinct and determination. A rope was tied tightly around his waist, his white short-sleeved shirt marked with dust and effort.

From below, a voice broke through the stillness.

"HENUUU!! come down now its getting late mother is waiting for us"

Henu looked down.

"ok lisa im coming down stay there"

He paused for a moment, breathing out slowly.

I really wanted to climb this today…

But he turned.

He began to descend.

When his feet touched the ground, Lisa was already frowning.

"because of you I might get in trouble too no henu your such a nice brother"

Henu sighed, clearly irritated.

"yeh yeh yeh your only 10 year old mother will shout at me more im 15"

Lisa turned away.

"well whatever"

She grabbed his hand.

"just get back home"

And they ran.

The forest swallowed them as they pushed forward.

Branches brushed against their arms, leaves cracked beneath their feet, and the air shifted colder beneath the dense canopy above. Roots twisted across the ground, forcing them to move faster, sharper, their steps adjusting without thought.

Lisa pulled him forward, ducking under branches, weaving between trees. Vines swayed as they passed, the sounds of the forest surrounding them. Birds in the distance. Leaves whispering. Life hidden just beyond sight.

They didn't slow down.

Bursting through thick bushes, they reached the river.

Without hesitation, both leapt forward, grabbing a low branch. Their momentum carried them across, their bodies swinging over the water before landing cleanly on the other side.

Ahead of them, their home came into view.

A small settlement, resting quietly between two hills.

Houses built from straw and clay stood close together, simple yet alive with warmth. The people of the clan moved through the space in white clothing, men in shirts and dark trousers, women in long flowing garments that brushed the ground as they walked.

Henu passed a man working the soil beside his home.

"norai hello"

Norai looked up, smiling.

"whats up henu ill be seeign you tonight hope it goes well for you"

Henu smiled as he kept moving.

"see you too"

Moments later, Henu entered his home.

A large mud house stood at the heart of the hills, surrounded by trees, flowers, and lit torches. Nearby, a tall hall had been prepared. People gathered there, waiting. A stage stood ready.

Something important was about to happen.

Inside, Henu stood still as his mother dressed him.

The fabric was heavier now, traditional Helios clan clothing. Long sleeves, thick around the neck. Carefully placed.

Then the necklace.

As she adjusted it, pulling his hair slightly, Henu winced.

"ouch"

He looked at her, frustrated.

"mother why do i need to do all this cant grandpa just give me the eyes of Helios why is it soo impprtant why cant father just take it i dont want to do all this its boring."

His mother paused.

Then she lifted his chin gently, forcing him to look into her eyes.

Her voice softened, but carried weight.

"This is our tradition. Your grandfather, your great-great-grandfather, we are the chosen ones who were tasked with protecting our people from the devils of this world that come to destroy us.

The Eyes of Helios are not given to just anyone. They are given to the one our deity, Helios, chooses. He was the most pure and just leader. With its power, you can save us from disasters. With its power, you can protect us from evil.

It does not choose the one who is strong now, but the one who will be the strongest in the future. And it chose you. I am proud of you, son.

This is a responsibility that you are given. I know it is a young age for you to carry such weight, but promise me you will use it only for justice, only to protect your family… your people."

Henu stopped.

For the first time, he listened.

Something in him shifted.

Quietly, he asked,

"with the eyes of helios will i become just like him?"

She smiled.

"you will son im sure you will"

She placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Helios sacrificed a lot for his people, saving them from THE END. Now go out there and show those people that you are the chosen one. I'm proud of you."

Henu stepped outside.

The path ahead led to the stage, connected by a long wooden plank.

His father and grandfather stood there, surrounded by soldiers.

Behind him, his mother and sister watched, smiling.

He looked back once.

Then he walked forward.

Halfway across, a voice called out.

"Henu you are the chosen one prove it to everyone"

Henu paused.

He smiled.

Then continued.

On the stage, his father spoke.

"People of Helios, my family has long been tasked with continuing Helios' power and his goal to save, to protect, and to serve justice in this world.

The power of Helios did not choose me, and I know what some of you are thinking. How could such a young man become our leader? I understand your doubts. My son is young.

But as your current leader, I hold no jealousy. Helios did not choose me. It chose him. Perhaps Helios saw something greater in him, something beyond what we see now. And is that not what we need?

We must accept what Helios has bestowed upon us and carry his legacy forward. And I am certain… my son will protect us all."

He looked at Henu.

Pride filled his face.

"now ill let my father continue with the legacy to give henu safir the next leader of our clan the eyes of helios."

The crowd murmured.

"such young blood there is no chance he can handle the eyes of helios"

"could he even protect us hes too weak"

"but if Helios chose him he must be strong"

His grandfather stepped forward.

"close your eyes son"

Henu obeyed.

A hand rested over his eyes.

The prayer began.

"The sun does not choose the strongest. It chooses the one who must keep burning so by the will of Helios i give you his power his eyes who connect with the very earth itself use it for justice and peace. amen."

Then—

Pain.

Henu screamed.

Fire consumed his eyes.

The crowd gasped.

"is he going to survive"

He writhed, his body twisting in agony, unable to even touch his face.

His mother held his sister tightly, covering her eyes.

The screams echoed.

Then—

Silence.

Everything stopped.

Henu stood.

Slowly.

His eyes opened.

They glowed.

A deep, radiant blue, like crystal burning from within.

The crowd fell silent.

He had survived.

Present

Ramon spoke quietly.

"Commander thats amazing you have such great power you protected your people im sure of it."

Henu didn't look at him.

His gaze dropped to the floor.

"all good things must come to an end"

In the memory—

Henu raised his hand to the crowd.

And behind him—

Fire.

The sky burned.

A blanket of flames swallowed everything.

Time itself seemed to stop as the fire reflected in the eyes of his people.
