"Yeah, I've been here for less than a month. I used to work at Capital Television."
"Impressive! I didn't realize you transferred from Capital Television. You're probably married, right?"
"I'm not." Felix Hughes shook his head and quickly asked, "What about you?"
"I'm not either."
"That's great."
"What?" Rose Shaw didn't quite hear what he said. His voice was a little quiet.
"Oh, it's... it's nothing."
Following Rose Shaw's directions, Melody Monroe found the small lounge area.
"Rose."
"Melody, you're here. Come, let me introduce you. This is Felix Hughes, the director of program planning at Jansburg East Television."
"Director Hughes, hello." Melody Monroe immediately extended her hand in greeting.
Felix Hughes sized her up, then looked back at Rose Shaw. "Rose, is Melody Monroe your younger sister?"
Rose Shaw's expression stiffened.
