After receiving the call from Giovanni and being able to talk to Gianna, the stress slowly leaves my body. I'm so glad I listened to my gut and called him. The moment her teacher told me about what happened in school, I immediately got out of the office and asked Alfio to head over to the school. Since Gio was out of the office today, he left his security to drive me home. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get past our block. The traffic was at a standstill. If her school was closer, I would've already been on foot and run over there.
It took more than thirty minutes before we were finally able to move, the entire time I was anxious to see my daughter. She still sounded upset, but Giovanni assured me that she was safe. He also told me that instead of heading to Queens, he's taking her to his penthouse. Which is fine by me. I just feel a bit weird going there after all these years. There are just so many memories in that place. We spent the night there before everything went downhill.
