Something strange is going on with Giovanni.
I've known him for two decades, and I've never been more confused about his behavior until now. He's clearly keeping something from me–not that he's not allowed to have privacy. I'm just used to knowing almost everything about him. There are only a few secrets between us. But lately, it's like he's a whole different person. I can't even say he's shady, because Giovanni has always been shady. The whole De Luca family is shady. But he's been secretive and is just overall acting differently. If he weren't my friend, I'd have him privately investigated.
He didn't use his cellphone much before, but now, he keeps checking it like he's constantly waiting for something. And whenever he's on it, he's so focused, sometimes smiling, other times laughing. One time, I caught him laughing so hard while I was discussing SVR's financial reports. I asked him about it, and all he said was: "Cats. Cats are so funny."
