Chapter 6 - Charpter 6: Growth Beyond Common Sense

[Tenjou Yuuya]

Morning sunlight filled the kitchen as Yuuya stood at the counter preparing breakfast.

"…I should make something decent this time."

After all the training yesterday, he was starving pulling ingredients from both his refrigerator and the garden from the other world, Yuuya began cutting vegetables. Tomatoes, potatoes and herbs even the absurdly overpowered crops from the Sage's garden.

As he chopped onions— A familiar notification appeared.

[Ding]

You have acquired the skill: [Cooking: 1]

[Cooking: 1]:: Skill in cooking and food preparation. Proficiency increases through practice.

"…Seriously?"

Yuuya blinked.

"There's actually a cooking skill too?"

Curious, he continued and almost immediately— he noticed the difference.

The knife moved smoother. His timing improved instinctively, he understood temperatures, seasoning balance, and preparation methods he'd never learned before.

"…Whoa."

One dish became two then three then somehow— Five.

"…I definitely made too much."

Yet he kept going experimenting trying techniques that simply felt right another notification appeared.

[Cooking: 2]

"…Already?"

Yuuya stared at the screen in disbelief.

"…This leveling thing is ridiculous."

Eventually, the kitchen counters were completely covered with food large portions of stir-fried vegetables. Soup, meat dishes and freshly cooked rice everything smelled incredible.

"…There's no way I can eat all this."

A few minutes later— Yuuya sat down at the table.

"…Alright. Time to eat."

The first bite shocked him.

"…This is insanely good."

The vegetables from the other world tasted far beyond normal food—rich, fresh, overflowing with energy. Warmth spread through his body with every bite

then—

Before he realized it— the plates were empty all of them Yuuya blinked.

"…Huh?"

He looked around the table nothing left.

"…I ate all of that?"

Normally, this amount of food would've lasted him two days now— he barely felt full.

"…These stats really changed everything…"

Curious, Yuuya opened his status screen.

"…Yeah…"

Yuuya leaned back slowly.

"…I'm becoming something ridiculous."

But strangely— he didn't dislike it not even a little instead— A small smile appeared on his face.

"…Let's see how far I can really go."

After finishing the last of the dishes, Yuuya dried his hands and stretched lightly.

"…Alright."

Breakfast was over which meant— back to training without hesitation, he stepped toward the door connecting the two worlds. The moment he crossed through, the familiar dense air of the other world wrapped around him once more.

"…Still feels strange."

Walking through the cabin and out into the open field beyond the barrier, Yuuya rolled his shoulders slightly before reaching into his [Item Box]. The Absolute Spear appeared in his hand instantly. Its black shaft gleamed faintly beneath the sunlight.

Yuuya took a stance.

"…Let's continue where I left off."

But before he could move— a strange pressure washed over him, heavily and oppressing the same feeling he experienced yesterday against the Bloody Ogre. Yuuya's expression sharpened immediately.

"…!"

Instinctively, he turned toward the forest line and there— something moved a pitch-black mass slowly emerged from between the trees. It wobbled unnaturally, its body resembling thick black slime, yet the pressure coming from it felt anything but harmless.

"…What's that?"

Without thinking, Yuuya activated [Appraisal].

[Hell Slime]

Level: 200

Magic: 5000

Attack: 1000

Defense: 5000

Agility: 100

Intelligence: 100

Luck: 100

"…Are you serious…"

Yuuya stared at the status screen.

"Yesterday was a Bloody Ogre…"

"And now it's a Hell Slime?"

A dry laugh escaped him.

"…Yeah, no."

"No way this forest is meant for beginners."

Honestly, the more he saw of this world, the more obvious it became that the Great Sage definitely hadn't been living in some peaceful beginner zone.

If anything— this place felt like the center of a nightmare.

The Hell Slime continued inching forward slowly, its dark body bubbling as strange purple steam rose from its surface the grass beneath it withered instantly.

"…Poison too?"

Yuuya tightened his grip on the spear.

"…Of course it is."

But strangely despite the danger— he didn't feel fear like before. Instead, his body reacted calmly and naturally. The knowledge from [True Martial Art] flowed through him effortlessly as his stance shifted into something sharper.

More refined.

"…Alright then."

The Absolute Spear lowered slightly pointed directly at the creature.

"…Let's see how strong I really am now."

The Hell Slime slowly dragged itself closer to the fence surrounding the Sage's property. Its black body bubbled violently, releasing thick purple steam that melted the grass beneath it.

Then— BOOM.

The creature slammed against the magical barrier and ripples spread across the invisible wall instantly. Yuuya's eyes sharpened.

"…It's pretty fast for slime."

The pressure pouring from the monster intensified, becoming heavy, corrupt and dangerous. But instead of stepping back— Yuuya lowered himself into a crouching stance.

The Absolute Spear tightened firmly in both hands and a strange calm overtook him. His breathing slowed and the world around him became quiet focused.

"…I can do this."

The techniques he learned the instincts from [True Martial Art] the overwhelming physical power flowing through his body— everything aligned perfectly.

Then—

Yuuya moved the ground beneath his feet and exploded.

BOOM!

Most of his strength surged through his legs in a single instant, launching him forward like a bullet.

"…Fast!"

Even Yuuya himself was shocked by the speed the world blurred around him and the Hell Slime reacted too late. Yuuya twisted his body mid-charge— The Absolute Spear spiraling forward with terrifying force.

THRRAAASHHH!!

A decisive thrust pierced straight through the center of the Hell Slime; the spear didn't stop there. The twisting force tore the monster apart completely— and continued onward. Two massive trees behind it split apart instantly cleanly, like paper.

The Hell Slime froze for half a second— before its body collapsed into black smoke gone completely annihilated. Yuuya landed several meters away, skidding slightly across the grass.

"…What…"

His eyes widened as he looked behind him the destroyed trees slowly toppled over.

"…I did that?"

Even he couldn't fully believe the speed and destructive power he had just unleashed. His heartbeat pounded loudly in his chest not from fear— but excitement.

Then—

Notifications flooded his vision.

[Ding]

You have acquired the skill: [Presence Detection]

[Presence Detection] :: Makes it possible for you to detect presences.

[Ding]

You have acquired the skill: [Flash Step]

[Flash Step]:: A high-speed movement skill that explosively enhances short-distance acceleration.

[Ding]

Level Up!

Yuuya blinked rapidly as his updated status screen appeared.

[Tenjou Yuuya]

Occupation: None

Level: 150

Magic: 2252

Attack: 4310

Defense: 4340

Agility: 4280

Intelligence: 2000

Luck: 4500

BP: 5000

Yuuya stared silently at the numbers.

"…Five thousand BP?"

And his stats— they had jumped again.

Dramatically a slow grin spread across his face.

"…This world is insane."

The Absolute Spear twirled lightly in his hand as excitement built in his chest once more.

Yesterday— a Bloody Ogre nearly killed him.

Today— he erased a Level 200 monster in a single attack.

And somehow— He had the feeling this forest still held things far more terrifying. Instead of fear— Yuuya smiled wider.

"…Good."

Then he pointed the spear toward the forest.

"…Come at me."

As the remains of the Hell Slime dissolved into black smoke, several objects suddenly dropped onto the scorched grass below.

"…Again?"

Yuuya lowered the Absolute Spear slightly before walking over carefully. Just like the Bloody Ogre— monsters in this world really did leave items behind after dying.

"…This feels way too much like a game."

Using [Appraisal], he examined the scattered drops one by one.

[Hell Slime Core]:: The heart of a Hell Slime. Filled with a massive amount of magical power and can be used in the creation of armor.

[Hell Slime Jelly]:: A coffee-flavored jelly. Consuming it increases magical power and defense.

[Magic Stone: Rank C]:: A special ore obtained from magical beasts.

Then—

One final item caught his eye a black necklace with a crescent-shaped charm that reflected light strangely.

[Black Moon Necklace]:: Rare drop from Hell Slimes. Increases various stats at night. Collects sunlight during the day and converts it into magic power, continuously restoring the wearer's magic power. Contractor: Tenjou Yuuya.

"…A rare drop?"

Yuuya blinked.

"Well… I guess I expected something cooler."

He picked up the necklace carefully, examining it closer.

"…Kind of disappointing."

The words "Hell Slime" didn't exactly make him imagine fashionable accessories. Still— the effects sounded ridiculously useful. Increasing stats at night constantly restoring magic power. Even if he still had no clue how to properly use magic yet— It definitely sounded valuable.

"…Might as well try it."

Since it was his first rare drop— and the first necklace he'd ever owned—Yuuya slipped it around his neck. The moment he equipped it— a faint cool sensation spread through his body.

"…Oh."

The necklace fit naturally against his chest, almost like it had been made specifically for him. Which, considering the contractor system— probably had.

Then—

Another notification appeared Yuuya touched the necklace lightly before storing the other drops inside his [Item Box]. His eyes slowly drifted back toward the forest, dark, silent and dangerous.

Yet now—

Yuuya opened his status screen once more, staring at the numbers quietly as they had risen again and not by a little.

[Tenjou Yuuya]

Agility: 4280

"…I went up quite a bit."

Actually—

Calling it "quite a bit" felt like an understatement; everything about his growth was absurd. His attack power, his speed, even his intelligence and luck had reached ridiculous levels.

"…Isn't everything just too good?"

Yuuya scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"Is that even normal?"

Then again— nothing about this world was normal: the Sage's house, the monsters, the weapons. Even the vegetables could permanently increase stats at this point, trying to apply common sense felt pointless.

"…Well, whatever."

A small grin formed on his face.

"It's easier not to think too hard about it."

His eyes shifted toward the large amount of unspent BP 5000 points enough to massively increase his strength again.

"Okay."

Yuuya sat down on a nearby rock, resting the Absolute Spear against his shoulder.

"…Time to allocate BP."

After thinking about it for a few minutes, he started distributing the points mostly evenly with attack, defense, agility andIntelligence. But when it came to Magic— he hesitated.

"…Honestly…"

No matter how high the stat became— he still had no idea how to actually use magic. No spells, no techniques, nothing he had massive magical power with absolutely no way to utilize it.

"…Kind of feels wasted."

Instead—

Yuuya shifted some of the points he originally planned for magic into Luck after all— his ridiculous luck had already helped him more than once. Rare drops, fast growth and skill acquisition who knew how far it could go?

"…Can't hurt, right?"

Once he finished distributing the points, Yuuya closed the screen slowly and the forest ahead remained dark and silent.

Yet now it no longer felt overwhelming.

Instead—

It felt like a challenge waiting for him. The Absolute Spear spun lightly in his hand as a faint smile appeared on his face.

"…Tomorrow…"

His eyes narrowed toward the depths of the forest.

"…I'm going deeper."
