After nearly eight years of travel, countless battles, and many narrow escapes, Situ and Goro finally arrived at the edge of the Primeval Green Forest.
The sight before them was both magnificent and frightening.
Ancient trees stretched into the sky like pillars supporting heaven itself. Their trunks were thicker than mountains, and their branches spread so far that they blocked most of the sunlight. From a distance, the forest looked like a dark green ocean without an end.
Yet neither Situ nor Goro felt excited.
Instead, both of them wore serious expressions.
A thick gray-green miasma surrounded the entire forest.
The poisonous mist drifted slowly between the giant trees. It covered the ground, climbed the trunks, and hung in the air like a living thing. Even from outside the forest, Situ could feel a strange energy coming from it.
The mist was dangerous.
Very dangerous.
"It feels worse than I expected," Situ said quietly.
Goro nodded.
