I got up.
Following the first notification, another notification rang in my ears.
Ding!
Along with it was the appearance of another holographic screen in a rectangular box.
[You have received a mission!]
That notification came out of nowhere. It seems this magical system was the type of system that gives missions to its host.
This is not my first reincarnation, so I am familiar to it.
I tapped the message, and after tapping it, another messages came out.
"I see. So that's how it is…"
"Status, activate."
I summoned my status window to check my current stats. Along with a 'Ding!' sound was the appearance of a vertical translucent screen. In it were the records of my current stats.
Name: Nameless
Level: 1
"Ugh! Level 1 again," I subconsciously groaned upon seeing my current level. "If not zero, It is one." I wonder why I need to start at level 1 or zero everytime I reincarnate.
"Well. Nevermind. The issue here is….. why I have to be reincarnated in a weak or if not in a bullied person?!"
Mumbling to myself was just useless. I knew, so I proceeded to the next stats below.
Basic Stats:
Mana: 60
Stamina: 55
Skills:
Magic Skill Mastery: SSS+
Weapon Art Mastery: SSS+
Melee Combat Mastery: SSS+
"Oh~"
It was a nonchalant reaction.
Due to my knowledge and experience in my previous lives, It wasn't surprising to see my skills mastery surpassed SSS.
However, with the current status of this body, my Mana and Stamina were extremely low. These two were the most important attributes to execute high-ranked abilities and spells. But as of now, I could only manifest low-rank abilities at the very least with the points of Mana and Stamina I have currently.
According to this idiot's knowledge, every level grants an additional 100 points in all my stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Agility, Endurance, Precision, Perception, and Magic.
As of now, I have…
Strength: 111, Dexterity: 110, Agility: 108, Endurance: 107, Precision: 105, Perception: 102, Magic: 115.
With those numbers, one might think it looks great, but if you compared those numbers to level 2, there was a 2x difference. That's why there was a huge difference in power between each level.
Proceeding to the bottom panel, I finally saw something acceptable.
Elemental Affinity: All Elements
Thankfully, I have an affinity for all elements.
But, it was as if cold water suddenly poured on me when I saw what was below it.
Current Element: Fire
EXP: 0%/100%
I learned that this body only contains fire elements at the moment.
While staring at my status, (Growling!) I heard a growl to my left.
I quickly looked in that direction and saw an angry beast a few steps away from me, staring at me like I was its prey.
Ding!
Again, out of a sudden, some notifications came in.
[You have received a mission!]
I tapped it.
"Good grief. The first mission didn't ask me whether to accept or decline, but this one did."
That -1 month lifespan didn't bother me at all as I even wanted to die in peace. But, if I die now they would just reincarnate me again in a different person, so it was useless.
After tapping the
The timer of the mission started counting down right after I accepted it.
I glanced around and saw a piece of wood lying underneath me. It was a branch of a tree the size of an adult arm and about a meter long.
I picked it up. When I touched it, I immediately felt that it was too dry and lacking in hardness. A small grip on it could crumble it to pieces.
It wasn't a good weapon for striking. Surely just a swing of it would crush it instantly. However, I still didn't let it go.
I noticed the monster slowly approaching me.
But it seemed hesitant when it saw me carrying a piece of wood. It didn't charge straight at me. Rather, it seemed to be watching my movements as if it were a clever hunter.
Holding the branch in one hand, I barely lifted the stick to the level of my waist while waiting for the monster to dash at me.
After a moment's hesitation to attack, it finally rushed at me at full speed while lowering its head slightly.
A straightforward attack.
Its two sharp and long tusks could be seen pointing in my direction. These were their main weapons of attack.
Although its attack pattern was just simple, the speed and strength of this 'Mad Boar' couldn't be underestimated. According to the memory of the previous host, these monsters underwent a mutation. So it could be said that this boar was several times stronger than the ordinary boar.
'Mad Boar' belongs to the D-rank monster. Someone like me who was just an F-rank had no hope of winning against it.
Once the monster was only a step away, I saw its tusks gleaming. I could sense a strange ability from it.
As the monster did, the wood I was carrying also gleamed. Before its sharp tusks could tackle me, I quickly sidestepped and struck its side with the tree branch.
Thwack!
GWEH!
A groaning noise reached my ears. Its large body which was double the size of mine sprawled to the ground right after receiving my attack.
The reason why the dry branch was not destroyed in that attack was that I used a low-tier ability called 'Fortification Ability'. It was a type of ability that temporarily strengthened an object.
After a magic circle traced its frame, it was now enveloped in white aura.
The previous owner of this body could not use it. But, with my experience and knowledge of magic, it was easy for me to perform this kind of ability as long as I had enough magic energy. In this world, they call it 'Mana'.
Nonetheless, it looked like my strength was not enough to kill the beast in one strike. It stood up quickly after wriggling furiously. Then, it rushed at me again like a mad bull.
That ability used up 10 mana. Now I was left with 50 mana.
I wanted to confront it head-on but changed my mind at the last second. I quickly leaped away from its trajectory. The 'Mad Boar', after failing to tackle me, tried to stop its momentum.
"I guess I don't have a choice. I really wanted to save my mana. But (Growl!) my stomach was growling. I need to finish it fast."
Looking at the approaching 'Mad Boar' again, I threw the branch on it.
(Thump!)
There was a dull thumping noise when the branch hit its head. The 'Mad Boar' slightly stopped its approach.
That gave me enough time to prepare for an attack.
I pointed my right palm at it while my left hand supported my right arm.
The 'Mad Boar' was able to recover fast. It right away resumed its rush towards me.
Right after it reached five to seven steps away from me, I fired a low-grade spell at it.
"Blazing!"
Fire swirled from my feet where a magic circle appeared. After chanting that spell, I followed up with another spell.
"Fireball!"
A ball of fire exploded (Boom!) in the face of the charging 'Mad Boar'.
GWEEEHHH!!!
It shrilled so loud as fire engulfed it. The burnt smell reached my nose.
