"When I pick you up wrap your legs around my waist." I instructed,then lifted Andie up and waited for her to securely wrap her legs around me.
"Now hold on tight while I get you tethered to me." I said, even though Andie was already glued to my chest like a postage stamp.
I had decided even before we left the pack house that this would be the safest way for us to go down. And honestly it's the only way I felt comfortable with, this way I'm in control of what happens.
So After getting Adnie strapped down I backed up to the cave opening and ask " You ready, sweetheart. Now it might be better if you close your eyes.This particular ice cave has a drop of about 150 feet with no wide ledges to stop on before you get to the bottom." I warned her before I stepping back for a fast descent into the magical world of glowing blue ice.
The next second we were at a controlled descent that I tried to keep at a minimum.
But Andie still squealed and lifted her head off my chest to look around just as we touched down on the bottom of the cave.
Then she squealed again. " Oh, goddess, it's like being inside of a giant perfect blue diamond .It's just beautiful , Zack, I love this, thank you so so much." Andie babbled, exactly crashing her lips against mine.
Not exactly what I had planned but I didn't fight it. I just placed my hand on the back of her head and guided the kiss into a loving tender moment.
Hopefully one she will treasure for the rest of her life. The same way that I will, knowing how happy she is at this moment.
The kiss wasn't a steaming hot, I want to fuck you kiss. It was an expression of my love and I was hoping that she understood this. I wanted her to know that I'll love and protect her for the rest of my life. There was no tongue or teeth just lips moving gently against each other.
But it still sent tingles down my spine like no other kiss I had ever felt before. My heart was pounding like a war drum and those tiny little sparks danced across my lips dangerously. So much so that I felt my brain trying to short circuit but I controlled myself and pulled away gently with a couple of soft pecks.
Grinning at my girl like the love struck fool that I am. I said. "Now that ,my love was your first kiss."
She smiled "And it was every thing you promised, totally amazing." She said shyly, then buried her head into my shoulder.
" Hey," I whispered, nudging her gently. " Are you ready to explore the cave?"
"Definitely" she responded, with out the shyness that tried to take over. Something we still need to work on.
I love Andie with all my heart and I'm very vocal about it. I'm open with how she affects me in every way and I expect her to be open with me.
But we can do that some other time. Right now we have a beautiful blue ice cave to explore.So with out any further delay .I unbuckled the harness and set Andie on the cave floor with a little warning.
" It's slippery in places, sweetheart so be careful."
And of course she ignored me and twirled around in a circle with her arms stretched out wide, mouth hung open ,as she gawked at the interior of the cave.
Almost busting her ass before I caught hold of her arm pulling her back to me." Careful, babe." I warned her again
" But it's so beautiful, look at all the different shades of blue and the wavey lines."She whispered in the silence that the thick walls of ice provided.
"It is, come, sweetheart let me show you something?" I said, guiding my little hard headed mate to the smaller chamber in the cave.
Once we squeezed through the small passage way , once again Andie's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped in awe.
" Oh, my goddess!" She squealed. " Is that a stream carving a new tunnel?"
" Yes, it is. There's a lot of things that could happen here. Ether this chamber could collapse completely or that stream could actually expand this whole area turning this chamber into an even larger one than the one we first entered. But it also makes this whole chamber very unstable at the moment because you never know when something like that will happen." I explained,but Andie still wanted to get closer to the moving water.
So I let her have at it, she even got close enough to dipped her hand in the glacier stream. Even though I had cautioned her about the edges giving way at a moment's notice.
And by the time she had explored to her hearts content. I'm absolutely certain that I had already had three coronary episodes and probably one major heart attack. My little daredevil mate is going to be the death of me I'm sure of it.
So,I sigh in relief when I finally had my ass back inside my helicopter with Andie safe and sound beside me. But I wasn't quite done yet. My girl has never been on a date before. So tonight we're not sharing a table with anyone. It's just going to be the two of us like a real date should be.
I lifted off and flew back south over the ice fields and landed on my spot at the airport. It took less than an hour so we were able to get to our room and take a shower before dinner.
I've learned enough by watching my dad that we didn't have a problem sharing the bathroom. I took my shower first and dressed out in the bedroom area.
Which left Andie over a hour to get ready for our date. I didn't really expect Andie to take that long. Because she's beautiful without all that makeup and fancy hairstyles and that's not her usual style anyway. But you never can tell with girls.
So, before she entered the bathroom I told her " You have a hour and fifteen minutes to get ready." After the bathroom door closed I dressed in a white button down shirt and a pair of black chinos.
That I had grabbed out of my closet after seeing what Andie chose to wear tonight. Another couples outfit, I hope she notices.
Then I just plopped down on the bed and turned on the television while I waited. But not for very long, because only after about forty five minutes the bathroom door opened and my beautiful girl came out.
I immediately rose to my feet to take her hand.
She looked lovely the little black skirt hit at about mid thigh but she wasn't wearing the black riding boots she had packed.
But thankfully she wasn't wearing a pair of flimsy high heels either. She had on a pair black penny loafers.
Her hair was just pulled back in a low ponytail with a wide black silk ribbon, no bow just knotted allowing stray strands to fall around her beautiful face.
She was definitely wearing a bit of makeup. Lip gloss, blush,and eye shadow in peachy brown tones that made her big blue eyes look even bluer.
" You look beautiful, sweetheart" I compliment, something else I learned from my dad.
" Thank you." She said, softly.
" Now are you ready for our first date?" I ask, as I was leading us towards the door.
She stopped and spun around to face me eyes growing wide as she stuttered through her words. " Fi. First date!
" Yeah, babe it's nighttime and just the two of us.What else would you call it." I asked with a grin.
" You have weird rules." She complained,with a laugh.
" No I don't, they're pretty straight forward and logical. A bunch of people eating together is a social gathering or in some cases a business lunch. But a mated couple eating alone in a restaurant at night for the sole purpose of just spending time together is a date. My mom and dad still have date nights and they have been married for years." I explained, as I pulled Andie forward and out into the parking lot.
Where I opened the truck door for her to get in then we headed down town to Salt the only restaurant in town that I know of that offers private dining.
Jessica has booked the whole restaurant before to entertain a group of my clients from Canada.
But since it's only Andie and I tonight I booked the wine dining room.It's usually reserved for six to eight people but I paid a little extra and also had the table set up with candles and fresh flowers.
Salt isn't usually crowded or noisy but I didn't want to take any chances tonight. I wanted everything perfect to give Andie a memorable experience.
So after we arrived down town I parked out front on the street. It's the only parking available in the area none of the restaurants here in Juneau offer valet parking.
Andie immediately grabbed for the door handle to get out. But I shouted "Wait "
She swung her head around and glared at me again the same way she had done earlier today in the helicopter." Why?" She asked.
"Because this is a date and you're supposed to let me open the door for you." I explained
She snickered, but relented. " Oh, okay."
After she released the door handle I jogged around to the other side and released my little hungry mate. I sure she's probably starving we skipped lunch today, only snacking on chips and peanut butter crackers that Skyler had left in the helicopter.
Thankfully when we got inside the restaurant our table was ready and the waitress showed us to the private room I had reserved.
The wine room only has two long rustic wood tables in it with comfortable high back upholstered off white chairs.
The walls are painted a dark brown with wine barrel lids attached to them giving the room a modern rustic look.
And as I had requested low cream colored candles lined the length of the table and a simple but elegant arrangement of cream colored roses set in the middle.
After I had pulled out the chair for Andie to sit and I had taken a seat myself. She leaned over and whispered in my ear " This is really beautiful, but you didn't have to go to all this trouble."
" It was no trouble,sweetheart you hold my heart and my soul in the palm of your hand."I murmured, bringing her hand up to my lips and kissing her soft palm.
