"Hmm hmm hmm~" a cheerful was on Hestia's lips as she practically skipped her way home, large sack tied over her shoulder, full of jingling coins, "Hmm hmm hmm~"
Today had been crazy!
The sun was just beginning to set over the horizon and cast Orario in an orange glow. Night would soon approach.
And she was so happy to be done working for the day. Their store had been hectic for an opening day. So busy she'd practically not had a minute to sit down.
But it definitely paid off.
The products Caelan had prepared, mostly the weapons, but some of the armour too practically flew off the shelves.
All in all, they'd made a total of just over five million valis.
Though, since Caelan had decided that twenty percent of their profits would go to Miach Familia because of Miach and Naaza working in the store, their total profits for the day was just over four million.
Quite a bit to be honest as far as cuts went. But, it was Caelan's idea so she'd go along with it.
Though…
'I wonder why he didn't turn up?' Hestia wondered. He'd said he would come to the store after he was done with his business with the Dian Cecht Familia and reporting his level up to the guild. And that was early in the morning.
Instead, he never turned up at all.
He'd only spoke to her briefly with his skill to let her know something came up and he was going to be busy. she could have contacted him back. There was a constant link she could speak through with him now in her mind, but she didn't want to come off as too clingy.
That, and she'd barely had a moments peace while working to do so anyway.
Well, no matter. It wasn't a big deal.
Caelan was just too independent for his own good. And he had that whole 'villain' thing going on where he liked to pretend he was an all knowing villain guy.
So he was probably off pretending to be mysterious and talking cryptically about things people had no idea about, but sounded impressive.
It wasn't long later she arrived home, stepping through the double doors of the run down church they lived in.
She knew Caelan was here, she could feel his presence. Which meant Lili was most likely here as well.
"Caelan! Lili! I'm home~" she cheerfully announced as she made her way down the stairs.
Only to pause at the sight that greeted her.
Caelan sat up in their bed, bare chested, lower half shielded from her gaze by the bed covers, casually inspecting an odd sphere in his hand. While laying on her side, most of her body hidden by the covers, a naked Lili slept peacefully, one of Caelan's arms around he slender shoulders.
Upon her entrance, he placed the odd sphere on the bed and grinned at her, "Welcome back." he said, stretching his arm out behind placing it behind his head.
She blinked slowly, before huffing and rolling her eyes, "You're a bad boy Caelan," she pouted at him, "Mugu! So that's what you were busy with all day, seducing Lili?"
Caelan looked down at the sleeping Lili and gave a sheepish laugh, "Well, not all day?" he said looking away, and her eyes narrowed at him as she sensed something off.
"What did you do?" Hestia asked, eyes lingering on lily and softening a bit as she saw the peaceful smile on the sleeping girls face.
She looked happy and relaxed. Which she could definitely understand. When she was falling asleep after her time with Caelan that night she couldn't wipe the silly smile from her face.
Wait.
Her eyes widened in realisation, "You didn't!?" Hestia gasped.
He understood without her even needing to say it, "…I kinda did." he admitted.
She groaned, "Caelan, I thought we were going to put this off a bit more until we had a better plan," Hestia huffed, dragging a hand down her face, "do you know how much trouble this is going to be?"
"None." he had the audacity to turn back to face her with a cheeky grin.
Damn him for being so cute with that cheeky grin and making her want to kiss him!
"What do you mean none?" she forced herself to remain serious, "You beating up their familia isn't the problem. It's them going to the guild. They can cause us so many headaches and what if other familia jump in? You don't understand just how annoying the other divine are Caelan. They're idiots, they'll jump all over something like this like sharks smelling blood in water."
"I mean actually none," Caelan's grin turned into a downright evil smirk, and his red eyes practically glowed in the low light of the room, "I beat the crap out of every single member of their familia, including their captain. I put the fear of well, me into him too. Then I went and drank Soma's stupid divine wine in front of him, and since I did it with no effort, that useless god promised he'd make sure none of his familia would involve the guild."
He scoffed the, looking up at the ceiling, "Not that the guild would be able to do anything anyway," he said, before looking back down and meeting her eyes, "I'm not one of their wannabe heroes. I'm a villain, and know all their dirty secrets. Ouranos himself would make the guild give up the second I whispered even a hint of some of the things he's trying to hide."
She blinked.
Truth. Every single world he said, rang as truth to her divine senses. He wasn't lying at all.
Not for the first time, Hestia had to wander just how much Caelan knew. He was always dropping little things like that. Like the reason why he'd revealed his ability to Loki's Wallenwhatsit.
She could ask. He'd tell her she knew. But, if Caelan wanted to continue to play the villain, then she'd let him.
It was cute anyway.
