The once-vacant CTO office on the 43rd floor of Magus Tech was no longer quiet and lifeless. The spacious room was occupied by ten individuals, each influential in their own field, their discussion growing increasingly intense.
"Which is exactly why tonight's race matters," Percy said, cutting into the conversation. "If I'm chosen, I'll have an opening to get inside their circle in Country M within six months."
Several heads turned toward him.
Zenith folded his arms. "That's assuming they accept you."
Percy shrugged confidently. "They will. I did not spent all these years in vain.."
"I met with the Military Commissioner yesterday." This time Morgan Spoke.
The room immediately quieted.
"They're aware of the situation in Country M and have started monitoring developments. Unfortunately, with the upcoming elections, the current administration is focusing most of its resources on domestic stability. This issue isn't receiving the attention it deserves."
"That's unlike them."
