Remuel opened up a map on his phone, looking around the map of Prominence as he wanted to rampage a bit more. Being a country at the center of the map, the country didn't have that many towns aside from a frontier from each cardinal direction. However, for Remuel, that was quite enough for him to start up a mess.
He held a clear intention of strengthening his weapon further through [Deal with the Devil]. And checking out if Prominence does have any way to be salvaged. His first stop was the southern frontier town, facing Polytopia.
Opening a rift right in front of him, he exited the capital city and moved on quickly, moving a distance quickly as he connects about a kilometer away from the town. However, it was right into a knight patrol.
"It's Remuel! Attack him on sight!" Remuel was surprised by the sudden announcement of an attack. "Isn't that a bit too quick on comms?!" As he thought that, he took notice of the one shouting and easily recognized him as a [People of Earth] member. With the knights easily believing him, he realized that this country is a complete lost cause unlike Aquila which still had been weeded out by Draxus.
As the knights rushed him down with their horses, Remuel simply raised his scythe and claimed their blood after invoking [Deal with the Devil]. Each knight and their captain, along with the [People of Earth] member had their blood taken out of them and quickly infused into Remuel's scythe. Remuel scythe started to glow a slight shimmer of red as it slowly expands for a moment. Needless to say that the entire patrol was swiftly wiped out.
Considering the power Remuel uses, he thought about storming the city and causing a commotion, but civilians aren't exactly a good target for strengthening his weapon. Since Prominence was a neutral country in the first place, it wouldn't be looked well upon if he simply just wiped off the country from the map. Though it's not like he could do that in the first place since the [God of Dominion] is actually present in the capital city now.
Lamenting on what else to do in the situation Remuel made the decision to just simply enter the town. "Well, if I can't harm civilians, I may as well make them evacuate into the capital city and made it difficult for them this way." Remuel smiled as he opened another rift close to the southern entrance of the frontier town, baiting an evacuation to the capital city.
Brandishing his scythe he slowly walked towards the guards. After they take notice Remuel just swiftly activates his scythe and [Deal with the Devil], effectively draining those two guards who unsheathed their swords the moment they saw Remuel. The guards inside however, taking notice the agonizing screams as the two guards got their blood drained quickly sounded the alarms.
"Oh good, that would make it easier filtering them out." Remuel smiled as he slowly walked towards the town as the gate was slowly closing. "[Deal with the Devil]." Remuel simply activated his ability once more as demonic wings materialized behind him, letting him fly over the walls of the town. He took his time as he wanted to allow the civilians to run towards the northern exit and get to the capital city while the guards and soldiers try to defend the city with their lives. There are a few [People of Earth] members around which made it better for Remuel.
Remuel flew over the wall only to be faced by multiple members from [People of Earth] who started firing their rifles on sight. Remuel simply just spun his scythe around deflecting bullets without much effort before the defenders found their blood drained out completely and dying in vain. "It's all so easy if there's no annoying opponent around. If they're not even going to bring in a [Council] member then getting every town to evacuate and slow down their progress in the capital would be easy." As Remuel monologued, he slowly cleared up the entire town of defenders and occupied the city until the civilians escaped.
After some time of clearing out the defenders, Remuel sat down at the fountain in the center of the town. He looked around to see if there are still any defenders left before activating his scythe again. This time, he fueled power into his eyes to be able to see through select solid objects to see if the [People of Earth] had a base in the town. After looking down, he was able to see an underground facility which he quickly located the entrance to and started walking towards it to wreck havoc.
Remuel continued his rampage as he kept fueling up his scythe with the blood of his enemies and made quick work of the facility, destroying everything and made it impossible for them to get any information or scraps. However, Remuel wasn't exactly feeling all that positive as the [People of Earth] may have already sent the copies to the capital city. "The information may have been copied to the capital already, but I'll at least steal all their materials here." Once again, after fully clearing the facility, Remuel simply escaped by slashing open another rift to another town.
Remuel continued such rampage to the various frontier towns of Prominence. This caused a response with at least one member of the [Council], [Farlands], and [Depths] starting to move around in at least half of the towns that he wasn't able to ravage in time.
With now defenses in half of the towns up, Remuel had no other choice but to simply retreat. "Ugh, fighting one is troublesome, I could take on like five or six at once but if they just swarm me in response it's just unwinnable." Remuel slashed open another rift and escaped back to Preeliance, to which he quickly found Serkyrio.
"Serkyrio, I have something to report." Remuel caught Serkyrio which made him turn in interest. "Remuel? So I take it that you've seen what you needed to know?" Remuel only nodded, which led to Serkyrio allowing him into the office.
"So, tell me what you found there, if it aligns as expected." "The [God of Dominion] is awake." Serkyrio closed his eyes for a moment, as if thinking about the implications or what to say. "I see. So they're likely to set off in March after your interference." With Serkyrio already knowing what Remuel did and made it seem like pointless. "So after everything I did they're still going to raid by March?" "Yes, though it's because I predicted you'd trash half their towns they're now set back to March instead of January." Remuel felt relieved, though his actions being predicted this easily as if it was already fated and Serkyrio had read it slightly disappointed him. "I suppose we can only hope the sped up preparations you ordered will allow these countries to get used to the kind of battle will be fought there." "Indeed, we had two other fates actually if you decided to return here first before checking what you could do." Serkyrio stood up and drew some lines and created a bit of a timeline chart on the whiteboard. "One timeline leads to Draxus stretching his Order too thin, leading to casualties which will snap him. The other is that there would be no casualties instead, but one of the hearts will be taken."
Remuel listened in to Serkyrio's ted talk which led him to learn more about what will happen.
