Brilliant, warm sunlight poured down in thick golden columns, striking the dark volcanic rocks and making the black sands glitter like a vast field of crushed diamonds.
The air itself felt entirely different. The lingering, toxic miasma that had choked the island for centuries, a terrifying residue of ancient magical wars and Minister Naja's treacherous arrays, was completely gone. In its place was a profound, grounding freshness. It smelled faintly of deep, fertile earth and clean, bracing sea salt.
