"Registeel. Gender: None. Ability: Clear Body. Height: 14'02. Weight: 3156 pounds. Attacks Known: Iron Defence, Zap Cannon, Explosion, Lock On, Hyper Beam, Focus Punch, Ancient Power, Shock Wave, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, Superpower, Metal Claw, Sandstorm, Iron Head, Shadow Claw, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Metal Sound, Steel Beam, Heavy Slam. Data indicates that much like Regice and Regirock, Registeel can function well in either close range or long range combat, And I cannot discern a preference when it comes to combat from the current data."

I leaned back in the saddle atop Aerodactyl's back, listening to Rotom's data on Registeel was we flew high above the ground.

Our destination?

Porta Vista. The last place I'd be visiting in Kanto before I fly the coop for a few months. Just to pay a visit to Ash, Misty and Brock, and drop off a few leaf stones for them and Wartortle with Misty.

Mmm, Misty.

'No, bad Jord.' I mentally scolded, I was planning on locking down and going serious with Hilda in the future wasn't I?

…But then she did tell me to feel free to go wild until I saw her again.

Thankfully, I didn't need to ponder on the morality of it for much longer, because just then, Rotom Gauntlet spoke up.

"Incoming call." he said, breaking me from my thoughts.

"From who?" I asked, and for a second my heart leapt thinking it was a certain fluffy haired older babe-

"Champion Lance." Rotom dashed my hopes brutally.

My disappoint was immeasurable, yet my day was not ruined.

I needed to call Lance anyway to update him on Altaria, so this saved me time. After all, pokemon pregnancies were weird. By tomorrow, she'd have laid her eggs.

"Accept the call, Rotom." I ordered.

"Affirmative." Rotom replied, and a second later, the screen at the back of my gauntlet clad fist blinked and then lit up as Lance's face appeared on the screen.

"Lance, good to see you," I grinned, "I was actually planning to call you soon anyway, good timing."

"Is that right?" Lance grinned back, "Is there something you want to tell me? Something monumental maybe?"

Huh, how did he know?

"Yeah," I nodded, "Altaria confirmed she had eggs this morning, two of them even. If you want to meet me at Porta Vista tomorrow, you should be able to pick up the egg you wanted."

Somehow Lance's grin grew even wider, "Really? That's great Jord!" he beamed, letting out a boisterous laugh, eyes lighting up. Before suddenly sobering a second later, giving me a serious look, eyebrows raised in question, "But wait, is that it? That's all you wanted to tell me?"

I raised a brow, "Yes?" I replied, confused at his reaction, "Is there something else I should be telling you about?"

Lance shook his head, grin returning, yet wry this time, "You sure? Nothing come to mind that happened to you recently? That you jumped feet first into? Something I specifically would love to know about?"

My brows furrowed as I tried to think, before it clicked. Ah right, of course he'd know! "Dratini skin boots are really sturdy, yet surprisingly comfortable," I flashed him a thumbs up with my other hand, "Worth every penny to get them made." I assusured him, glancing down at the pale scale boots adorning my feet.

He was the one to recommend the place I got them made.

I'd picked them up the night before I left Viridian City, got them made from some of the shed Dratini skin I found at the Dragon Island.

"Oh you got them already? That's great, they're amazing aren't they? I never go anywhere without mine. They're amazing for pretty much any terrain and never let any water in and-" Lance began while beaming, before pausing and pointing at me through the screen, "Stop distracting me. You know what I mean. Were you not going to tell me you captured legendary pokemon!?"

Wait.

That was what he was getting at?

"No, why would I?" I replied with a blunt snort, "You're literally monitoring my trainer page, you pretty much admitted that the other day. Mate, why the hell would I tell you something you already know?"

I got enough scolding for catching crazy pokemon from Nurse Joy and Hilda, I didn't need to add a champion to the mix thank you very much.

"Wait you're not denying any of it?" Lance looked like the wind was slurped from his sails, as if a Snorlax had a giant straw and just slurped it all up by my response and rolled his eyes, "Well that's no fun. Though, I don't suppose you'll tell me just how you knew where to find them? Or any of the other absurdly rare and powerful pokemon you've found?"

As a matter of fact, I don't mind at all.

I already devised my story with Hilda after all.

"Sure, I've got nothing to hide," I shrugged, "I came into contact with a super powerful psychic pokemon back in Unova, it let loose a ton of psychic energy at the time and I got caught in the blast. I pretty much had psychic powers, and used them to see if I could find any pokemon that stood out in Kanto since I was coming here, and it worked out. Though, I more or less used up all the power just before I landed in Kanto."

Lance's eyes widened and his jaw dropped, "Wait, you're actually telling me? And it actually was psychic powers?" he shook his head in amazement, "Well…I don't even know what to say in response to that. You're an incredible kid you know that? Anyone else would have tried to hide such a thing."

"I've got nothing to hide." I shrugged.

"Sure kid," Lance snorted, "Any other absurd pokemon your planning on capturing soon then you don't mind telling me? So I'm not as shocked in the future. Maybe you're hiding Rayquaza in your pocket?" he laughed.

I smirked, "Well maybe not Rayquaza, but I do have something about the same size in my boxers." I boasted.

Lance burst out laughing.

___________

After a long talk with Lance about the specifics of my 'psychic powers' and giving him a brief description of Mewtwo that had him reeling about the 'unknown' pokemon, we set up a time and place for me to meet him tomorrow.

And exchange Altaria's aerodactyl egg, for the hundred big ones. And, not long later Aerodactyl touched down on the far end of the beach of Porta Vista.

"Thanks for the ride mate, take a rest you big daddy to be you." I laughed, patting his jaw.

Aerodactyl just rolled his eyes before I returned him to his ball.

I turned after storing his ball in Rotom Gauntlet, taking in the city in the distance. I'd landed on the far side of the beach, so people didn't swamp me about Aerodactyl.

I walked my way down the beach, taking in the sights. The warm sand, the crystaline blue water, the pokemon out and about.

I passed a few Krabby meandering about the beach, Wingull flew above me, and even a Shellder was resting in the sand as I walked by, I was so tempted to catch it, but held back.

"Just a kid from Pallet Town, with a whole new world to see." I hummed quietly as I made my towards the city-

But as I was going I heard a shout from behind me.

"Coming through!" a shout came from behind me, and before I could react, something banged into my shoulder from behind, making me stumble a step, blur of brown and red to crumple at my side, "Ah, sorry!" they said, a boy about the same height as me, with a squeaky feminine voice that almost had me thinking he was a girl, before I got a proper look.

It was a boy, maybe around Ash's age, if not a little bit older. Dark skinned, dressed in red, with brown hair highlighted at the front with a tuft of red, "Sorry again dude!" he squeaked, bowing at me, the cap on his head almost flying off before he grabbed it and turned, rushing off before I could say anything.

I watched him go blankly for a second, "What a weirdo." I snorted, and with a shrug continued on my way.

Or tried to, as I stepped forward my foot clinked against something, and I raised a brow as I lifted my foot, to reveal…a pokeball?

Though it was different from any pokeball I'd ever seen.

It was a dark brown in coloration, with veins of golden yellow all around it, a burnt golden middle somewhat like a luxury ball, only duller.

And with four golden latches over the small button in the centre. I picked it up, looking it over. 'Did that guy drop it?' I wondered, and was about to call after him.

But as I looked in the direction he ran off, I couldn't see him at all.

"What the hell, how fast was he running?" I snorted. Well, whatever. Mine now I suppose.

Finders keepers and all that.

I gripped the odd pokeball with Rotom Gauntlet, before storing it inside it and continuing on my way.
