-Back to current time-

Still lying in my bed, I continued to stare at the ceiling of my room in silence, lost in thought as a sense of helplessness and anxiety settled in my chest.

I really think the wizarding world is incredible and wonderful, and I like practically everything about it — such as its history spanning thousands of years, the mysteries around every corner, the fantastic and powerful magical creatures, and obviously I won't forget the magic itself, which is what defines this world.

'But this world isn't fiction anymore' I sighed, 'Now it is real, and I know how dangerous and cruel it really is'

'With that said, I can say with complete certainty that this isn't a world I would've chosen to be reborn into' I thought, pursing my lips with a dark expression.

But knowing there was nothing I could do about it, I simply shook my head.

'Sigh, forget it... There's no reason for me to keep stressing about this'

'Now that I'm in this world I can just accept it, and maybe then it will be easier for me to adapt to this place'

That thought alone helped ease some of the anxiety weighing on me.

As I was a little lighter and calmer, I decided to think about my situation again, analyzing it in a more serious and focused way.

For now, everything seemed peaceful on the surface. But when the Second Blood War breaks out, everything will fall into chaos and death.

Because I'm a Muggleborn with Muggle parents, my family will obviously be in danger.

Even if we try to hide or run away, it won't do much good, as my name must already be in the Hogwarts Book of Admittance — and that damn book is practically a tracker for all wizarding children in Britain.

So as my location will always be reported to Hogwarts, that would make it much easier for Death Eaters to hunt me and my family when they begin the purge of the muggleborns.

Of course, I can't say for certain that when the time comes they will actually try to hunt me down, as I would just be a young, unknown wizard in the grand scheme of things.

However, it's still more likely than not, and I prefer to prepare for the worst-case scenario so I can take the necessary precautions.

'Well, since I can't escape this situation, I may as well use it to my advantage' I thought, a glint appearing in my eyes.

There are exactly four years left before the story really begins, so until then I need to get stronger.

Fortunately for me, all the training and experiments I did while trying to discover what my mysterious power was caused me to develop my magic abnormally fast, as well as increasing my control and understanding over it.

That gave me a huge head start.

'Silent and wandless magic. Knowledge of the future and other things from the wizarding world. And a creative and perceptive mind'

'With all that going for me, I refuse to believe I'll end up helpless.' I clenched my fist, confident and determined.

'Alright, enough thinking about that. Time to start planning.'

With my mind made up, I quickly got out of bed.

I walked over to the small desk in my room, sat down, and pulled open one of the drawers. Inside was the notebook I'd been keeping there.

Notebook in hand, I grabbed a pen and started writing down my plans.

'Hmm, let's see... I'm 7 years old right now, and I'll be heading to Hogwarts when I turn 11. After that, it'll be one disaster after another... and that will be the norm until the war starts, which would be in my 5th or 6th year.'

'In total, I have nine years to train and improve my skills as much as possible before the wizarding world falls apart. And for the first four of those years, I'll be completely on my own.' I mused, writing something in the notebook before pausing.

'I have been practicing and using my magic since I was 4 years old, which has allowed me to have a good amount of power and control over it. But in these next few years I have to train even harder'

'I want to be at least on the level of a fourth-year before I even get to Hogwarts.' I've decided.

And so, I started writing in my notebook again, jotting down all the steps I'd have to follow over the next four years to become stronger and better prepared for Hogwarts and everything that came with it.

Nearly an hour later, I finally put down my pen and looked over everything I'd written, nodding in satisfaction.

....

-Planning - 4 years-

Training:

Magic: Practice my magic until it becomes powerful enough that I can use more powerful spells and not tire quickly;

Use my knowledge of the wizarding world and other fiction to create new spells;

Also research another method of teleportation. Portkey and Apartation are not very reliable or practical;

(Note: Creating my own pranks. The twins won't be the only pranksters at Hogwarts.)

Meditate: With meditation I will be able to use my magic more smoothly and I will not lose control of it, in addition to being able to help me in moments of stress and concentration.

Physical Training: I'm not going to stand around and get hit by spells in a fight. I want to be able to defend myself even without my wand or magic. Plus, training can make my body more capable of accommodating my magic.

Martial Arts: It won't do any good if I can only hit hard... I have to know how and where to hit.

Occlumency and Legilimency: I can already read people's surface thoughts, but only by accident, and since I started trying to control my magic with meditation, I've been able to think and memorize things more easily.

I probably have some natural talent for mind magic, but it wouldn't hurt to develop those skills further.

(Note 2: Find out if legilimency allows someone to feel the emotions of humans and animals.)

(Note 3: If it is a special ability of mine, find out what its limits and extent are.)

Studies:

Learn different subjects, from the basics to the complex ones, as they can help me at some point.

Focus on biology, since a lot of magic, especially healing magic, requires a good understanding of the human body. Chemistry and physics are important too, because knowing how those things work should make creating new spells a lot easier.

Also learn about laws and politics, because I'm going to a world where politics is almost more important than blood purity for wizards.

Try to learn as many spells as possible, using as a basis those that were presented in the franchise, or at least mentioned.

Try to remember anything said about the subjects taught at Hogwarts that don't always require a wand or a lot of magic, like herbology and potions.

Search my memory for as much information as possible about the Harry Potter story, both the books and the films.

Preparation:

Take advantage of my knowledge from my previous life (technology, media and entertainment) and also from this new life (future successful businesses) to try to make money quickly and easily .

Research and study the Death Eaters, the supremacist supporters, the corrupt and the scum of the wizarding world in general — such as those who do everything in the shadows, like Lucius Malfoy; or those who do everything in the open, like the werewolf Fenrir Greyback.

Top priority: Find ways to keep my family out of this mess. Protect them at all costs.

....

'If I can complete most of the things written in this notebook before I go to Hogwarts, I will have much more time to train and much less things to worry about' I thought after finishing re-reading my notes.

'The goals that I won't need to use magic, I can ask my parents for help to complete them. And the ones involving magic, I can do in secret until they find out about magic when my Hogwarts letter arrives'

'Hmm... the books for me to study non-magical subjects will be easy to acquire, and physical and magical training can also be easily resolved.'

'And those goals that only depend on my memory and brainpower, I can do at any time and in any place' I reflected, going over my plans in my mind.

While I was lost in thought, I heard my mom's voice coming from downstairs.

"Ethan, lunch is ready! Come downstairs before your dad eats it all!" my mom yelled at me.

"Hey, that's not true!" I heard my dad say in an indignant tone, "And the way you're saying it makes me sound like some king of glutton."

"Heh, you really could've fooled me if you weren't holding two loaves of bread in one hand and a chicken drumstick in the other!" she teased.

"Uh... what if I told you I'm still in my growth phase?"

Listening to my parents' playful argument, I couldn't help but smile.

And at that moment, all I could think about was how much I loved this family.

"Coming, Mom!"

"And don't let Dad eat it all, or he might end up getting even fatter!" I added with an amused smile.

Then I got up from my chair and left my room, quickly heading downstairs to the kitchen, where my parents were waiting for me.

My training could wait a little longer, and in the meantime I would spend a few more moments with this incredible family that I would do anything to protect.

End.
