Chapter 27 - Mergance

The hooded figure stood still.

Waiting.

Razilia stepped forward.

Each step—

heavier than the last—

not from weight—

but from meaning.

Behind her—

the eleven flickered again.

Once.

Twice.

Like they were breathing—

through her.

Her core pulsed.

And then—

something answered.

Not outside.

Inside.

A presence she knew.

A voice she had heard before—

in silence—

in dreams—

in the space between thoughts.

"…You're finally awake."

Razilia froze.

"…Kyrniz…"

Warmth flooded through her.

Not overwhelming.

Not consuming.

Welcoming.

"You took your time."

Razilia laughed softly—

despite everything.

"…You were sleeping too."

"…No."

A pause.

"…I was waiting for you to stop running."

Silence.

Then—

acceptance.

Razilia closed her eyes.

"…Then don't leave."

"…I never did."

The world shattered again.

But this time—

it didn't break.

It merged.

Light—

Dark—

Memory—

Pain—

All collapsed inward—

Into her.

Her body lifted—

not physically—

but conceptually—

like she no longer belonged to gravity.

Her form changed.

Not violently.

Naturally.

Hair—

no longer just flame—

but controlled—

layered—

white at the core—

blue along the edges—

gold threading through—

red pulsing beneath—

Her eyes—

fully open—

Gold.

With a deep—

endless—

abyssal blue at the center.

Her presence expanded—

not outward—

but through everything.

The chamber bowed.

Not forced.

Recognized.

Razilia inhaled.

And Kyrniz exhaled.

Together.

One.

"I remember."

The words weren't spoken.

They were declared.

The eleven in stasis reacted instantly.

Light surged across their forms—

stabilizing—

locking—

Awaiting command.

The hooded figure stepped forward—

no hesitation now.

No uncertainty.

Razilia looked at it—

and understood.

"…You're the variable."

The figure tilted its head.

System light flickered into existence.

Not in front of her.

Around her.

Like reality itself had become an interface.

[SYSTEM CORE — PRIMARY ADMIN ACCESS GRANTED]

[WELCOME BACK — ORIGINAL CREATOR SIGNATURE CONFIRMED]

R2 gasped softly from her shoulder—

now fully awake—

tiny but aware.

"…Ma'am…?"

She didn't answer.

She was seeing everything.

[UNIT ARRAY: 12 SLOTS DETECTED]

[STATUS: 11 STABILIZED — 1 UNDEFINED]

Twelve points of light appeared around her.

Each one—

a presence.

A connection.

Tabs unfolded.

Not mechanical.

Instinctual.

She could feel them—

like fingers she had forgotten she had.

Unit 01 — Healer

Unit 02 — Scout

Unit 03 — Tank

Unit 04 — Stealth

Unit 05–06 — Dual Strikers

Unit 07 — Support

Unit 08 — Adaptive

Unit 09 — Hybrid

Unit 10 — ???

Unit 11 — Stasis

Unit 12 — Undefined

Her focus locked onto one.

Unit 11.

The large egg.

Still.

But not empty.

[UNIT 11 STATUS: INCOMPLETE — CORE READY]

[OPTION AVAILABLE: FULL FUSION]

The interface shifted.

A silhouette appeared beside it.

Grayed.

Incomplete.

But familiar.

Too familiar.

R2's voice dropped to a whisper.

"…That's—"

Razilia didn't need him to finish.

Blue Eyes.

Not the being itself.

But its pattern.

Its signature.

Its possibility.

[FUSION REQUIREMENT: EXTERNAL ENTITY ACCEPTANCE]

[WARNING: RESULT IRREVERSIBLE]

Silence filled the chamber.

Behind her—

her father didn't move.

Didn't speak.

Because this—

Was beyond him now.

Razilia turned her attention to the hooded figure.

"…And you…"

The figure finally moved.

Slowly—

it reached up—

And pulled the hood back.

No dramatic reveal.

No shock.

Because the moment it did—

It changed.

Not into something specific—

But into something possible.

Its form shifted—

reflecting—

responding—

To her.

To Kyrniz.

To what she had become.

"…You're waiting for purpose."

The figure nodded once.

Razilia stepped closer.

Her presence pressed against it—

not forcefully—

but undeniably.

"…Then choose."

Silence.

A single moment—

that stretched—

infinitely.

Then—

The system reacted.

[UNIT 12 DESIGNATION REQUESTED]

The figure dissolved into light—

And reformed.

Standing taller.

Sharper.

Defined.

No longer waiting.

Chosen.

The eleven behind her pulsed.

In sync.

Alive.

Connected.

Razilia stood at the center of it all—

No longer just Razilia.

No longer just Kyrniz.

But something complete.

Her gaze shifted—

back to Unit 11.

The egg.

The option.

The risk.

And somewhere—

beyond the system—

Blue Eyes was still watching.

Still waiting.

Still reaching.

"…Not yet."

The interface dimmed.

But did not disappear.

Because now—

It belonged to her.

And the moment she chose—

Everything would change again.
