The church lay in a quiet, almost reverent gloom until an unexpected shaft of sunlight broke through the stained-glass windows. Brilliant colors spilled across the sanctuary, bathing the pews and polished floor in crimson, sapphire, and gold. The light illuminated every corner of the building without bringing any warmth.

At the altar stood Pastor Silas, dressed in a black suit with a pink tie. Positioned behind a transparent glass pulpit, he preached passionately on repentance. His voice rose and fell with conviction as he proclaimed the Word of God, gesturing emphatically to drive home every point. There was nothing rehearsed about his delivery; every sentence carried the earnestness of a man who believed every word he spoke.
